I used to have a PA system In my 84 Ford Ranger (which was illegal where I lived in Virginia, but was not illegal at the time in Nags Head, NC) and used to ride around yelling at people all the time. If you use it in a Drive-thru while someone ahead of you is trying to order food, they tend to get a little upset.

The license flipper would be legal in one circumstance that comes to mind: in NC, if you own a classic auto, you are allowed to run a plate from the year of your auto, I.e. a 67 Mustang can have a 1967 plate on the car, but you have to have the up-to-date registered plate in the car at all times. With the flipper you can attach both plates, which would be pretty cool.

I think that's the case in many states. I had the same thought because I know it's available in Maryland and Washington.

I've often wondered if you could come up with something like an LCD licence plate that would pass casual inspection. It'd need to be passively lit, but I think it could work. And be highly illegal.

If you can get past the funky styling, they are great platforms to modify. You can easily get a lot of power out of them by just an intake, exhaust, high flow cat and a tune, and normally at only 188hp, they are barely exciting but after you crank the power up, they are fun af.

That was the sole reason I clicked on this video because I would always think "What if you could press a button and switch your license plate quickly so when cops next see you, they'll think they have the wrong person and go past you" so when I saw the thumbnail to this video, I was so excited to see it. (Not that I'm gonna buy it, no, I would never do something like that...)
That license plate flipper is absolutely lit, combined with the radar detector and you have yourself a really easy way to avoid toll booths as well as avoid having criminals take your license plate number whem driving around dangerous neighborhoods. The design needs to be more inconspicuous though since that one was too bulky and can easily be spotted by a cop. It would have to be a frame modification.
Radar detectors are legal for the most part in Midwest region
The “lawyer” in this video made it 100% worth it.

the only use for the license plate flipper in my state (maryland) would be on the front end of the car. you have to have the front plate if you’re a resident here.
so if you like really hated having the front plate you could flip it with a decorative one when you’re out of state. but at that point just don’t use the front plate at all and take the fine😭

It might even be useful for just having your plates hidden when parked at home if you're worried of your plate number being sent out for some reason. I would call that paranoia though.

When it comes to flames out of the car. There are places that deal with forest fires, having flames coming out of the exhaust will get you an at least $2000 fine.
we don’t deal with forest fires here but it’s still a massive fine if you have flames coming out of the exhaust bc the mod for that to happen would be illegal

Funny enough but it goes back to the '80s and the 'Shit Happens' bumper stickers. They made it vague enough so 'obscene' images counted as well. Oddly enough, the law only applied to vehicles themselves, so riding my motorcycle wearing my "Simon Says Fuck Off" was fine.

The Soviet GAI was extremely corrupt and russian GIBDD still is, other post-Soviet countries actually canceled road police because it was unfixable. Tools like radar detectors and blockers, other stuff to protect against them was commonplace in ex-USSR. Explains the Cyrillic lettering ("Антирадар" - "Antiradar").
I’ve reported my radar detector stolen out my car to the police. They got it back for me from a local pawn shop. Thanks guys. Now I can break the law again. I’m not even close to joking,this really happened. Just nucking futs!

The “police” lights are technically illegal but at the same time if you are a volunteer firefighter in a state that allows for volunteer first responders to have emergency lights then its not illegal

For the lights specifically, when legal in the state, the use by a vff is at the discretion of the chief/department policy.
The light color is regulated as well and will differ from red to blue to green and possibly more.
Sirens are almost never allowed for vff’s.
Once you add a significant department logo/markings to a vehicle. It would probably be considered an “official” department vehicle instead of a POV, like we have been talking about.

The "police lights" are, to my knowledge, illegal in every state. The temporary lights used by Fire/EMS (full time and volunteer) are a specific shade of red and have a set strobe frequency/pattern. The few vehicles I've seen with them, seem to have Fire/EMS insignias on the license plate as well.

State by state they are not illegal in my state but u can only use them on private property
