    I disagree you can’t beat Nissans reliability. I’ve had both and the Nissan was twice as dependable! You like many think that increased sales equals a better truck, wrong, 25 % of Ford is fleet sales because their cheap and parts are cheap! Blind sheep and brand loyalty. Yes the gas mileage stinks but I don’t buy a truck for gas mileage, could care less, finally who wants to be the 7th Ford at a Red Light? Not me! I’m at 187K on a 08 Titan, original water pump, starter and alternator. With Ford I would have had to replace all 3. Don’t drink the kool aid please.

      Not to mention how well the interiors in Nissan vics actually stay intact and operational, unlike Ford and especially Dodge. P.S. I've owned at least one version of all three Dodge, Ford and Chevy but none ran as long either. This is mine and my wife's 4th Nissan and all went 200 - 300,000 miles before we got rid of them.

  • @antmusic1000
    @antmusic1000 Před 5 lety +27

    What's unacceptable is your comments at 10:27 about gas mileage. You clearly have a lead foot (as heard in this video). But to pass on to viewers that 11 mpg is something they should expect just makes you an ass. I just drove 80+ miles one-way to Rocky Mountain National Park though Boulder and Golden from Littleton, CO. Over 22 mpg there and over 25 mpg back. This included stop and go as it wasn't all non-stop highway. And I have no problem getting 15-17 mpg commuting in town. I'm very happy with my 2018 Titan Pro4x. I don't want to drive what every one else does, that's not my style. I bought a "great" truck that covers my off road, towing, comfort/room, and reliability needs. Including their 5yr. 100k mile drive train AND bumper-to-bumper warranty!
    My neighbors are more than welcome to have the "better" Ford in their driveway - I can't stand those a-holes anyways. The only other truck I considered was the 2019 Dodge because of the new exterior and top notch interior. GMC and Toyota were a distant thought but Ford wasn't and wouldn't be considered.

      @c1rca23 Před 5 lety

      antmusic1000 lead foot or not, 11mpg is horseshit. That’s hundreds of dollars a week on gas. My tundra at 14 is bad enough. No thanks.

      @CDAY0219 Před 5 lety +1

      You made a great choice with your Titan over the F-150. Ford is not known for reliability, and you would not want to deal with the cost of repairing the aluminum body if something were to happen to it.

  • @ystms50
    @ystms50 Před 5 lety +18

    I can also praise the TITAN because I'm still the proud owner of an 05' model which, over the years, I've had to put just under 1000 dollars in repairs. I had a fuel pump go out and a cam sensor and of course I let Nissan do the work and they're labor is not cheap. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the truck. 13 years and 180,000 miles later, she still feels very dependable. I'd buy another. It's true, Nissan can't compete with the other makes but that's what makes it such a great deal. It's a damn good truck for the money.

A similarly equipped F150 with the FX4 off road package, locking diff, skid plates, basically all the same features that the Titan Pro4X has, comes in around 60K Canadian. Is the F150 a better truck? I put 300k on a 1988 Nissan pickup, I changed bearings in the transmission 3 times. The engine was so loose at the end I could put it in first gear with the engine off and push the truck by hand across my driveway. But it started and still ran. Lift the hood you could see rubber hoses going to components that had rusted away. Only problem I had was dealers monkey killed my ecm trouble shooting a bad coil. Z24 was a great motor once you understood how it worked.

    I have a 2018 Pro-4x and it's a great truck. Tried them all and this has the best features for the $ in my opinion. Don't let this biased review scare you off. The towing ratings are not the best but if you're not hauling big trailers this truck deserves a hard look. Very well made and appointed. It's also about 4-5" shorter overall than the others which is great for garage parking. Plus - the best warranty in the game. Based on my prior Nissans I won't need it but it's nice to have...I get 18-19mpg in mixed driving and 15mpg towing.

    I love my Titan, I do however have the XD. I feel this video is a bit of a harsh review considering Nissan's time in the market with there first full size pickup. Furthermore this model hasn't changed since 2016 and in my personal opinion is the biggest reason the Big 3 pulled there hands out of their pockets and started upgrading their lineups. To anyone out there thinking about getting one be sure to get the XD its worth the extra 2 grand if you plan on hauling. Only negative I can think of is very small aftermarket products so if you like to modify your truck you'll be disappointed.

The fact is they all can claim a bajillion mpg from stand alone, no load lab testing, but in the real world, whether it's the Ram's Hemi, Ford's Coyote, or Toyota's iForce, or Nissan's Endurance...a V8 is a V8 is a V8. I've owned all the major trucks built since 1986. Ford, GM and Toyota all failed me at some level but miserably with the Ford which was by far the worst. Not just one Ford, on the 2nd one that was waiting for it's THIRD transmission replacement (BTW I never pulled ANYTHING with this truck!) I realized I could NEVER, ever own another Ford. GM was slightly better transmission-wise but motor drank oil at a rate of 100:1 premix but that's NORMAL for GM. Toyota Tundra driveline was superior longevity-wise (2003 and I still have it.) but the issues I had with the front end (never properly remedied) and the super weak rear springs (Toyota refused to fix this for some reason), then the same crap warranty as Ford...nope, no Toyota's in my future. Enter Ram 1500 in 2013, best truck I ever owned. I traded in for a MUCH lower mileage version (a 2014) and the ONLY reason I did it (besides the mileage) was they threw in a LIFETIME bumper to bumper warranty (which is no longer available according to the dealer as of Jan 2019). I don't like the 8 speed transmission, it's always constantly shifting up and down, I hope it holds up. Only 50k miles and it's still like new. Enter My Titan XD 4x4 Crew gasser: So far it has been a dream machine. The ride, the engine/transmission, the warranty completely unbeatable by any other maker right now. I can see me owning this truck for 20+ years just like my 1997 Nissan Hardbody still in my stable...The best part is I got it for nearly 20k off MSRP...I am getting 17 mpg btw. I didn't expect anymore than 15. I drive it like a grandpa though. BTW, my neighbors 2019 F150 is in the shop. 3rd time now for various issues. To each their own but I know I got the best truck for the money made anywhere in the world.

I never found a Chevy, Ford or Ram even close to that price. After driving it for 6 months, I love it even more. 5 yr 100,000 mile warranty doesn't hurt either. I consistently get 20 mpg on the highway with the new V8. And for a truck, it is fast off the line and sounds great. It has everything I need and nothing I don't and it really is American made. This is a real truck with a firm suspension and great road manners. Most of all it is quiet. Fantastic disc brakes all around. Well done Nissan.

    I’m cheap and tend to keep my vehicles for years. In 2001 I bought a new 1500 Ram, decent truck but replaced the tranny @ 100,000 miles (I maintain my vehicles too, actually kinda crazy about it). I traded it in 2009 with 189,000 on the odometer, still ran well but the front fenders were Swiss cheese. I picked up a used 2004 Titan (I know, first model year no no) with 33k on it and it now has 234,000 on it. The only major repair was the infamous rear end (oddly enough at 100k , seems that’s a sore spot for my trucks) which Nissan could’ve remedied with the simple addition of a snorkel. What happened was the vent got clogged which blew out the seals and led to the demise of the transaxle because it was dry! My bad for not knowing but never again! Nissan turned a deaf ear to my plight (and thousands others I’ve learned) so I was out $2400 for the new rear end. At least I had them replace the limited slip rear diff with a locker when it was changed. So to sum it up, great truck but won’t buy another Nissan because they won’t stand behind their product.

This truck is very competitive against the other brands. The towing yes I agree isn’t as good as it should be but 10000 fits me just fine. The rides really nice and it has a very strong motor. And it gets about 24.5 mpg on the highway. This guy needs to stick to the road vehicles because he is not very smart with trucks. The raptor only has a mid level suspension kit on it so you can only do so much with it.
