The Wrexham model of ownership is brilliant. Compared to other owners at the top end of the football pyramid, they aren't actually that wealthy, but the genius comes from the publicity they can draw to the club. Huge sponsors and the Disney deal already, even as a non-league club. Rather than the owners needing to throw loads of money into the club (which I appreciate they have done to an extent), they can let the revenues from outside sources carry a lot of the weight, especially as they continue to grow.

The sponsors and Disney only work for as long as there is an audience willing to pay and watch, once that audience shrinks even a little bit then the sponsors and Disney will be gone and so will the outside revenue, then it's back to football ownership as we know it and the costs that owners bear.

The uniqueness of this situation is not so much the level of football, but the character of the two owners. These guys are not your typical wealthy North American owners who seem only interested in using the team to generate more and more wealth beyond what they’re already got. These two guys seem genuinely interested in not just the team, but the community, the game, and history surrounding it. Plus, Ryan Reynolds us not just a ‘typical’ Hollywood actor. The English system is one of the reasons Wrexham has taken off here in the States, besides the obvious Rob/Ryan connection. We don’t have anything like promotion/relegation in our sports here. There’s that knowledge in your head that if your team is winning, and they keep winning they can move up and make it to the Premier League. And the way Ryan and Rob have treated the acquisition of Wrexham and the subsequent build up of the team this is their dream too now, along with so many of us here in the States. I bet the number of people in Wrexham kit in San Diego well outnumbers the amount of people in Man Utd kit. Assuming we can get it in time as it’s all been sold out for months now.

This is just great, what is happening in Wrexham!! I understand the hesitation of some people, but like he said, we are not talking about a Club nowhere near the Premier League!! And you are missing one huge, absolutely amazing point! This is so much more than "the UK football", this is an international/global level issue. This is a great example to all the small, local clubs around the World!! Millions of people are working hard, usually for free, just to support and making sure, that their Club will exist also in the future!! And so far, they have done hundreds of hours voluntary work and/or small "donations" or other kind of help, which they are able to provide. Nobody, usually, do not realize or even notice how much these people are willing to do with out any "rewards" and now they can see, that there is a "Club", maybe similar to their own, which is able to turn the "attention" to these "lower level" Teams and smaller Towns, that nobody even knew existed!!! And we are talking now about Global attention!!! This could, and I really hope, be a massive motivation boost to everybody in this great, International Football Family!! And encourage to think "out side the box", have different approaches to the whole system. And if this example will be good also in the long run, it will slowly benefit all the lower level Clubs also in the UK!!. So, I do not see any problems with the whole Wrexham "model", even with out a "Disney" ending!!

The 5500 seat expansion should be finished by the start of the 2024/2025 season. Let's assume that Wrexham gets promoted this year and does well enough in League 2 in the 2023/2024 season to not get relegated back. That means that they go into that season with an additional 5500 seats times 23 home games times 30 revenue per seat. (The revene would include tickt + food + beverage sales). That adds an extra 3.8 mil towards revenue. Figure they could apply 2 mil of that towards extra salary for players. As they continue to have success, they can leverage their success to expand their revenue. As long as they're williing to be a little patient the sky is the limit.

American here. I'm a Brighton & Hove Albion fan and have also begun following Wrexham as of late. (thanks Rob & Ryan....I think?) With that said.....
I actually LOATHE the current American system, especially the MLS here. All a team from a lower tier has to do is pay $$$ (like Austin FC, St. Louis City, Charlotte FC to name a few) and suddenly you're in the MLS. That's a load of fecal matter, IMHO. There are currently 29 teams in MLS. That is about 9 teams too many!!! There are also plenty of teams that ARE NOT in MLS (FC San Antonio, for example) that can compete with and at times beat an MLS side. And then there are some MLS sides who, quite frankly, have absolutely no business being considered a "top tier" team because they're just terrible.
I would fully support a Promotion/Relegation system here in the US for our soccer (football) leagues.

Some also say that his constant reminder of how he wished he invested more into boxing just shows he hasn't a clue about, sports, business and investements. I strongly disagree with that.
I think he is one of the best sports pundits out there who is also very good of providing insight into other issues and can utilise that and be of benefit to sports fans.
