We were downtown St.Paul while they were filming this. My mom told me, since I was a oldest, to watch my little brother while her and my sister went down to see Sinbad and Arnold. I'm still butt hurt abot it.
I lived in st Paul for 7 years ending 2 ago. Sadly downtown is getting pretty run down and crimey. Mickeys of course quit being 24/7 after covid. I used to go down there every year around Christmas when it was under 20 below late at night and help the homeless guys that weren't outside begging aggressively down to the heated train station after getting them some food or coffee.

I like in the beginning of Jingle All The Way when Schwarzenegger's character Howard arrives late to his son's martial arts karate class graduation shocked that he missed the ceremony. Like he didn't notice the empty god damn parking lot when he arrived, or the fact that the lights were mostly off in the building.

It's a cartoon, much like the rest of the director's movies (The Flintstones, The Spy Next Door, etc.). They are as subtle as a shotgun. That's why I really needed the dubbing/commentary.
I love how Schwarzenegger's voice is just a painful, moaning Incredible Hulk-style Austrian accent. Sometimes I just laugh out of nowhere thinking of a Jaboody Dub 😁
