The Fallout TV Show's Biggest Easter Eggs

- The Fallout TV Show has dropped, and while it features a relatively unexplored place in the Fallout games, with brand new characters and storylines, it nonetheless has a bunch of connections to previous entries in the franchise and beyond, some of which have massive implications for the series going forward.

The subtitles refer to the brain robot as "Brain on a roomba"
I rewatched it with subtitles and caught that, made me laugh.
I'm guessing it was an early concept of what would become the Robobrains
😂😂
t
I just like to think that “brain on a roomba” is why we leave robots up to rob-co and not vault tech 😂
SPOILER S01E07: My favorite Easter Egg must be when Norm has to play that Hacking-Minigame in order to access the overseer's Terminal. For me personally that was the icing on the cake.
And the minigame isn`t like in the game at all. If we ignore rouge letters, which could not be, it`s unsolvable, since none of the words have mutual letters.
It`s like they don`t even know how to solve it correctly
At least they added "" exclusions...
It showed great attention to detail by the showrunners
Really shows that they creative team behind the show are actual fans of the games. And I mean all of them. They added both the isometric 10mm pistol and the FO4 one, which really shows me the care. And if you know any skeptical Fallout fans who don't wanna watch that show, recite that fact. Might be enough to make them come around to watching it.
When Lucy exits the vault she sees a tumbleweed roll by and has a shocked reaction like she thinks its alive. This references the unmarked quest in Fallout New Vegas when a nightkin asks the courier if he wants to buy a wind brahmin as if it were a living animal. It turns out to be just a tumbleweed. This also references the fact that at one point, the developers of FNV actually wanted to add an animal that looked like a tumbleweed that was going to be called a Wind Brahmin, but never did so. With references this obscure you can tell that people who genuinely love and care about the Fallout franchise were involved in the making of this show.
I never knew any of that. Granted my time in New Vegas is limited but still...

You guys missed Red Rocket, which is where you find Dogmeat in Fallout 4, and in the show, that's where the ghoul finds CX404! The ghoul also calls CX404 Dogmeat in that scene.
That was 100% my favorite Easter egg
I love Dogmeat
The title of the show is actually a reference to the title of the games.
Hang on, hang on.....WHAT!?

@@tvorchtvorch9823 do you get something out of this random letter posting you do?
@@guyjperson on, notifications about conversations. To keep up with the news
@@tvorchtvorch9823 I see. Thanks for responding
Have I misunderstood the concept of Easter egg wrong, because I thought it meant hidden treat, like a hard-to-see reference insertion somewhere
Right? An easter egg would be something like the Corvega emblem on the trunklid of a yellow car in one episode.
No you are indeed correct. GameSpot confused "eastereggs" with "references".
t
It seems like Easterseggs now apply to everything 😂
Referring to Southern California as “a relatively unexplored place in the Fallout games” is just a downright tragedy.
Fallout is possibly one of the best video-game-to-TV adaptations ever made. We love to see it
I especially love it because it really added its own compelling storylines with huge detail added to the overarching plot. While I respect the last of us adaptation they were basically just remaking the games story
I just watched all 8 episodes and it most definitely is NOT the 'one the best' adaptations ever made. Its not even a 'good' adaptation really. In fact, the more I reflect on what I just watched, the less chartable I am about it. It is not exactly terrible, but it has its issues. A lot of them actually. Or maybe it just doesn't take much to be declared best vid-game adaptation given the competition.
@@champisthebunny6003 what specifically makes it such a bad adaptation in your eyes? I’d say only cyberpunk and arcane surpass it as far as video game adaptations go but I’d be open to hear your thoughts on what others (specifically live action) do
t
@@champisthebunny6003 they said one of the best VIDEO GAME adaptations ever made and it’s definitely the best in that category go ahead and tell what VIDEO GAME adaptation was better please
In ep2 where Maximus and the ghoul have a fight, when Maximus gets his foot stuck in the floor and his helmet takes damage you can see that in the cornor of the screen when inside the helmet that his leg and head flash red like in the games (Fallout 4 and 76)
The Big Mt Rep is Frederick Sinclair.
Who is the owner of the sierra madre casio in FONV:Dead Money DLC
I'm sorry but "unexplored"??? My guy you cannot only include the fps fallouts, LA was the centerpiece of Fallout 1!!
I think he meant as in we never really get to explore the wasteland like the last 4 games did with how the real world locations would look in the game. The first 2 it's basically fast traveling between the limited locations and only random encounters give you a chance to see outside them. You get to explore the story behind everything very well just not the actual wasteland running there and here like the newer ones
Walton Goggins is so good in this show.
I got to say I was hoping it would be good but I wasn't anticipating it being this perfect of a adaptation that every detail down to the props in the background are correct
I’m curious now if the cryo pods in vault 111 were meant to be a test in alternative methods for the vault-Tec employees
If you read the notes from vault 111 it says something about the test being related to how people without knowledge of impending freezing would react to being frozen so you've got a good point here. Vault Tec employees were likely prepped in some fashion whereas the 111 dwellers were ushered directly into the cryopod under the guise that it was a decontamination process.
t
I've never understood why the Vault Tec rep was so hot on getting the Lone Survivor into the Vault. Beyond what the Institute wanted, Vault Tec seemed to want something from Nate.
Seeing the Prydwen. And yes. If you look in one of the scenes where the squires are staring at the airship, it clearly says PRYDWEN
Also cooper says he fought in the battle of anchorage
which makes me think that him and Nate(FO4) knew each other, or was really good friends
The phone number Coop says to call in episode 7, apparently is real. If you call it the voicemail sounds like it was being answered as the bombs drop. Texting the number gives another little egg that something might happen in November (around American Thanksgiving.)
If you check out the shot at 3:14 it kind of foreshadows her dad being from a cryosleep pod with his face framed in the glass with the frost on the window
Nice!

House could be dead, but he could've made an AI that replicates him. So we could still get Mr House in season 2 in AI form
I think the fact that they showed him so explicitly in season 1 means that he’ll make an appearance in season 2, as in they’ll likely make the House ending of new Vegas the canon choice.
Although the developers of new Vegas stated their intention of making the independent ending the canon option, I much prefer the house ending being canon because it leaves the series in a much more interesting place.
Combine that with the courier supposedly leading Big MT, I’m curious about the direction they’ll go in
t
Been a while since I played FNV, but independent ending is Yesman right? That's just dumb. That is the chaos ending where everyone will lose in the long term.
The House always wins.... it's a paradox no matter which ending you believe to be 'more cannon' over another will always conflict with a different choice. I wouldn't be surprised if in the show they treated New Vegas as if FNV hadn't actually happened yet. Which will be a way for Todd Howard to re-sell all us suckers on a "New" FNV version!
@@tvorchtvorch9823Depends on the skill of the Courier. A dumb Courier who doesn't upgrade the Securitrons will definitely leave New Vegas in chaos.
For me the code 101097 which starts cold fusion is the biggest easter egg. It's... Fallout game launch date!
In my opinion, The "Cooper" in "Cooper Howard" is in reference to Gary Cooper. An old timey Western actor, and star of High Noon
He definitely has the High Noon stilted walk.
@@joso7228 As to that: I can see that the "western walk" is in full display, but I've decided Goggins is imitating his buddy Olyphant....who may well have been imitating Gary Cooper.

Seeing a revamped Interplay logo tugged my heartstrings.
Im convinced Dogmeat is an immortal being who reincarnates. 🤷🏼♂
Ug'quoltoth's nemesis
This Dogmeat wasn't a German Shepherd, though. So there are just lots of dogs being called Dogmeat. Or maybe they all get named Dogmeat, like Geralt calls all his horses Roach.
LoL, it's just a reference to the movie "A Boy and His Dog". One of my favorite post nuclear war movies to this day.
@@guyjperson ...reincarnates...
@@SerpenteMusic Yeah. I chose to ignore that. Cuz, then there's nothing to hang the immortal thing on.
The "Thums Up" move makes so much sense, concidering the fact, that on the Vault advertisment signs the Vault Boy is always looking away from the Vault to a hypothetical mushroom cloud, and behind him all residents are going into the vault.
Hey! I met Frederick Sinclair in the games, granted he was a skeleton but it was him :3
Adding onto the meeting between Vault-Tec and the corporations, the various corporations in that the various corporations are also all from the games. Along with Robert House’s company RobCo, there was also:
- West-Tek (the defense contractor responsible for the creation of Power Armor & the Forced Evolutionary Virus)
- REPCONN (an aerospace company with major locations in Fallout New Vegas)
- Big MT (a defense contractor that plays a major role in the Old World Blues DLC of New Vegas)
Adding onto this, the executive representing Big MT was also revealed to be Frederick Sinclair, the founder of the Sierra Madre casino (the main setting of New Vegas’s Dead Money DLC).
Cooper has a tesla science magazine in his house
I want to see some Silver Shroud Easter eggs next season
Or Mysterious Stranger!!!
fjfhjfhj
They do very lightly reference the mysterious stranger but I do mean lightly.
I liked the Grognak commercial at the beginning but they could've did more for sure.

Anyone think that there would be a possibility that the courier that we all played as in New Vegas might have a mention in seasons 2?
Kyle machlachlin played the dad, he also played paul atredies in dune 1984, when lucy goes into vault 4 one of the ladies has the same blue eyes the spice caused in dune. I think that was an easter egg.
Grognak and the Ruby Ruins is also a game like Atomic Command, making Grognak the franchise's biggest in universe multimedia franchise. I now want there to be an UCU (Unstoppables Cinematic Universe)
I'm not sure power armor constitutes an easter egg. Might as well list the vault as well then.
My favorite is when Lucy bites the ghoul finger off and he returns to favor and cuts her finger off and collects it 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
if you PAUSE on the E8 Scene where the Secretary shows Cooper into his Wifes Office then it literally says, "Young Betty Pierce". Doh!! Amazon gave away a Spoiler!!
The Good News is that the Writers must have prepped what happens from the Secret Meeting to Nukes for S2.
i feel the vault thats up north east in canada could be montreal since bethesda has an office there
2:18 this scope is actually already present on the helmets but is unusable and fixed in the upright position.
There’s a small Bottle (from Cappy and Bottle) figure on the dashboard of the vertibird in the last episode
Searching for dad isn’t an Easter egg, that’s called just not being able to come up with a new idea.
Remember in the Fallout Universe the USA invaded and conquered Canada and Mexico.
I always thought that there would be Vaults in Canada and some in Mexico.
If you see that map of Vaults, there are clearly some in Canada
Did I miss something in the show or was there no follow-up to the water filter thing going bust?? The guy says they have less than 2 months to go and then it never gets brought up again? 🤔
You may recall that Norm and Chet had a discussion that implied that crises seem timed to help Overseers from Vault 31, and this came up shortly before the election. My guess is that Betty magically "fixed" the problem behind the scenes once she was elected, since otherwise, they would have presumably taken Vault 32's water chip instead of moving half the people there.
My guess is that it might come up next season. There's still plenty that's going to happen in Vault 33
II think it was just a ruse to help get B elected "oh this is bad we need someone with experience"
And when the ghoul gets shot he eats cherry tomatoes to get healthy
# power armor
The show differs in the fact that the suit doesn’t open / eject the pilot when the fusion core is removed
Lucy didn't just "walk if off" We see her later using a staple gun to close the wound.
Don't forget the super mutant hand in episode 1
I was wondering if Lucy's name is a homage to MacCready's dead wife in Fallout 4? Her name was Lucy too!
I still don't understand why they keep up with the T-60 Power Armor are the best thing from a Pre-war era instead of T-51
#1 no actually because she used staples in the show, which is not a thing in the game and diminishes the effectiveness of the stimpak relative to the games
So many eggs I had to force myself to not look for them or risk missing the actual show. 😂
Wasn't Lucy McClane bruce willis's daughter in the die hard movies
Most important qestion does pittsburg have a vault
What if the "Yes Man" ending is canon tho? I hope to see House in the second season but I will be fine if it's Yes Man, as long as the legion has fallen lol
Need a few over the top rad storms , just to mix things up , ☢🌩☢🌩
So many in-the-face easter eggs and no one mentions the Chinese robot in the beginning of the show.
I hope we don’t have a fallout over this… fallout new vegas
My only question is where are all the supermutants unless the master hadn’t created them at that point
The show is set 9 years after Fallout 4.
By this point, the Super Mutants in the West that remained after the Master fell were either taken out by the NCR or Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave or they moved east into the Mojave Wasteland like Marcus’s group did.
So where are the Easter Eggs?
Yes
If Shady Sands is gone, what is the whereabouts of the Legion? I’ve been wanting to know
Hoping we find out next season in New Vegas. But since it’s after FO:NV takes place, they might be in shambles already idk
Well NCR has a population of atleast 700k, and on the Shady Sands sign that Lucy and Max encounter it says "Former Capital" so they maybe are at the new capital
t
fallout new vegas is set Before fallout tv show, so mr house could already be dead
My guess is the "House always wins".
fkfjf
Time to play the franchise again
Am I the only one who didn't like that Maximus was trapped in the power armor with a fusion core?
There's no way.
8:23 it is new that there are now vaults in Canada
Technically Canada was annexed as part of the resource war, so by some metrics it’s still “in America” in the fallout universe
No it isn't. in the games there's references that there's a few vaults here and there that were up in the Canadian territories
@@courier6960 Thank you Courier 6, tis true. But this is the first instance of a reference to one (or more) vaults being located in current geographic Canada
Canada was annexed by America so the concept was (is) very plausible! Who knows what they got up to?
t
Fiduciary seen fallout tv show we know what's next.😮
Sinclair from Big M.T is dead in New Vegas viva dlc
A few people have told me, because they showed new vegas it apparently ret conned the entire game somehow
It did in the sense that NV had multiple endings. So showing it necessarily negates most if not all resolutions to the story of the Courier, simply because not everyone concluded that story the same way.
They overreacted. At worst, it just requires a few minor retcons, which is hardly the first time the Fallout franchise has done so.
@marauderdz is the show before or after new vegas? At the moment, I can't remember and wasn't sure if it was like 5 or 15 years before or after it, lol
@@brandonspeed It's after NV. Officially, Fallout New Vegas happened in 2281 and the show is 2296. People are freaking out mostly because the chalkboard implies SS was nuked in 2277, before NV, but it could also be interpreted as happening some unspecified time after 2277, which I think makes more sense given Maximus's age.
Surprise Bud opted to be a brain on a roomba instead of being frozen like the rest of the vault-tec reps.
The price to be paid to be top manager.
I think it suits his personality.

Somebody human had to be alive and conscious to manage the managers, and that person had to last 200+ years

Dear Hollywood... if you respect the source material and actually research it you will have a successful video game adaptation 99% of the time. I get that you want to bless us with your new ideas but show us 1st you understand the world gamers have lived in for decades.
Can you really call them easter eggs when they´re all part of the same universe, though? Easter eggs for me would be references to other shows or games... Most of these are more like attention to detail.
The most disappointing aspect of this show is the fact that Zach frinfrock isn't involved....
Ya i remember wrist booster jets from fall out games and who need physics when u can fly like that with those two hand jets
I cannot help but wonder-or wander; either/or-in amazement over the textbook definition of an “ignorant” take on the whole “Cooper” naming convention. Seriously, how short-sighted, misinformed, or-as previously stated-ignorant can the interpretation of the name “Cooper,” be? For the uninitiated, the name is a direct reference to Gary Cooper, & moreover; his highly controversial-at-the-time film, “High Noon.” I am not going to do all the leg work for y’all, but go watch the film; then follow up w/how it was received in 1952. All the parallels will fall into place…
I usually appreciate GS’ take on certain topics, but whomever edited this particular one got it massively wrong-either that, or from the aforementioned “ignorance;”-simply did not have the information necessary to share, & made a wildly-inaccurate connection to “Twin Peaks.” It’s funny how folks can force a square peg in a round whole when they’re too lazy to seek-out a round peg…
Was vault 4 a cult
It looked like it might have been just the Shady Sands survivors.
fjfjfj
I love how true to the games it is! No realism here!
It’s super real
t
Gonna replay 4 or 76? Ha of course 4.
Mr House being in the tv show doesn't change the canon at all as the scene he features in is from before the bombs fell.
8:00 None of the ending are canon and they have removed it from the time line, my guess is that they will be doing the New Vegas storyline from the game IN season 2. New Vegas happened in like '83 and in the shows timeline the NCR was wiped out in '77. Todd hates that New Vegas is often called the best Fallout, not surprised he wrote it out of canon.
NCR wasn't wiped out in '77. You're misunderstanding that scene. "Fall of Shady Sands" happened before the city was nuked, the arrow clearly suggests that. "Fall" doesn't necessarily have to mean "destruction", it can also mean political fall, regime change, and many other things.
@@ArturKwaszyn No, if the arrow pointed to a different event that happened at a different date, that date would be listed. Shady Sands was wiped out in one day with a nuke, that's clearly what the arrow points to otherwise there would be another date for the nuke.
No, they are almost certainly doing the New Vegas storyline in season 2 and ignoring the game.

so far it's a meh.
The show is really good but you can tell it's made by East Coast people because all they wanted to do was s*** all over the west coast lore I really wish they would just say the game in the show or two different timelines or something just cuz it doesn't really make much sense a lot of the stuff that's in the show doesn't really make much sense with what we already know happen in the first game so I just think it's a bunch of East Coast b*******
