  • Not only does the Fallout Show set up some incredibly vital plot points for the franchise, but some of them are so big, that it’s hard to see how Fallout 5 and beyond could even avoid referencing the events of the series.

    We'll have to wait to see with the second season but I don't think Barb's suggestion that they drop the bombs themselves is actually the show telling us that Vault-Tec caused the apocalypse. As it was said, it makes no sense for her to allow her daughter to be out there when the bombs drop. I think it's much more likely that the line is there to justify Vault 33 somehow having access to the bomb that blew up Shady Sands. After all, they never do explain how Lucy's father got his hands on a nuke.

Now when you get excited about a new game that you see you know it’s gonna be five years before you get your hands on it.

      I don't think the writers have even played 1 or 2. The show only acknowledges F1-2 lore to justify its exclusion. Do they understand that the NCR isn't just Shady Sands, for instance, that it has a population of well over 700,000 (probably a million by the time of New Vegas) and that Los Angeles itself is an NCR state? Or that Shady Sands is about 100 miles north of LA? And why did the Master never find vaults 4, and 31-33, when they are all within spitting distance of the Cathedral, and have clearly identifiable vault entrances that lead directly to the surface?

    • @Thagomizer
      @Thagomizer Před 21 dnem +2

      The show's don't seem to understand that 1) The NCR isn't just Shady Sands, 2) Shady Sands is nowhere near LA, and 3) Pretty much the entire West Coast is civilized and under the NCR banner by the time of New Vegas and presumably when this story takes place.
      Los Angeles is an NCR state, for example, and it's home to both the Followers of the Apocalypse and the Gun Runners.
      Maxson, the Hub, and Dayglow are also NCR states. Almost all of the places we visited in Fallout 2 are NCR territory by 2281--Redding, Vault City, New Reno, Modoc, etc. But of course none of these places are ever shown or mentioned. It's, you know, like the writers never played the first two games.

    I agree that it was a contingency plan and that Vault-Tec didn't necessarily do it. However... I really like the idea that they did end up dropping the bombs. That while world leaders tried to avoid nuclear devastation, Vault-Tec ended the world for profit and power. I think that's poignant within the themes of Fallout. And Barb can't control what Coop does on the days he has custody. But he knew *no matter what* bombs were going to fall. So he was probably pretty close to the vaults. And have we wondered why Coop had his with him "helping" at the birthday party? I imagine it's not because he can't get child care, but rather because he wanted to be ready to GO, in case today was the day... and it was that day.

    I want fallout and fallout 2 to be remade like 3 and new Vegas. Not 4

      Utterly impossible. Try this one on for size: Do you think it would be possible to remake Baldur's Gate in the Skyrim engine?

      @danieljohnson3320 Před 19 dny

      @@Thagomizer not only would it be possible, it would be a smaller file size. Ofc, that's only if you are actually worth your salt with game design.

    I thought the director or someone in charge like that, said that the show was its own thing and not necessarily apart of the game continuity.

    Show revealed Vaultec is suddenly super evil, brotherhood are just like raiders greedy and power hungry looking after themselves not humanity, Enclave may actually be humanity's best chance. Going forward this would change who we side with in the games.

      Vault-Tec has always been evil, but I hate the idea that they are the Big Bad at this stage in the post-apocalypse.

    With how lackluster bethesda has been, a rights transfer will be the biggest step up for the series.
    Same busted engine for 15+ years with degrading game design. Wouldnt be surprised if VATS was treated as an unlockable skill in next fallout, like the basic stealth meter in starfield lol

      This franchise sold 55 million copies and 54 million have Bethesda's name on it 🤡

      @NeutralGuyDoubleZero Před 21 dnem

      @mattc7420 Once you turn past the age of 12 you'll realize sales numbers aren't the end all be all when discussing media. If you really wanna go there, starfield was supposed to be Xboxs biggest saving grave only to get middling reception overall and zero game awards. So even by your logic my point stands.
      Also most of those sales and goodwill are from Obisdian making New Vegas which Bethesda WISHES they could be as good as.

      How long have you been going after Bethesda? Be honest.

    • @Superhermit
      @Superhermit Před 21 dnem +1

      He has a point.
      With all this time passed, Bethesda should have made a new engine or changed engines. Starfield would still probably be good as an tech experiment for the next gen engine so they can perfect the next Fallout/ Elder scrolls.
      But still, if another developer could do it better, they would, yet they haven't come close.
      The Outer Worlds felt like it copied the formula but didn't improve it, if anything a step back. And Metro has nailed the atmosphere but doesn't has the depth.
      Seems like development of everything takes forever these days. Only other idea is to do what COD does and have simultaneous work being done by different studios on rotation. But even then, each game feels rushed and fails to outgrow the previous entries with such short turn around

    Fallout 5 is probably just gonna be fall out 1&2 remade from the ground up for something like 76 or maybe something old school with a new coat of paint. Think about this. The maps, they don’t wanna go back to maps but they have no problem updating the games. Xbox took over. The tv show is set in that area. I mean where else would they make a fallout? Florida? Detroit? Texas?

    Anyone else kinda annoyed that they’re making one of new vegas’ endings canon? The beauty of that game has been that it has so much choice and everything you did had an impact. Also the fact that Bethesda imploding as a company hasn’t seemed to touch the legacy of NV until now 😒

    • @wilfredonievesjr
      @wilfredonievesjr Před 21 dnem +9

      I have no problem for a canon ending...if done well to continue the series. I will go back and replay to match the canon ending. At my age I like closure in the story as I probably won't see a new game in 5 years. Yes I am old...

    • @21skyrim
      @21skyrim Před 21 dnem +1

      No I’m not annoyed cause it doesn’t change anything at all lol. It’s not like they’re going back and scrubbing the game of other choices you want to make so why get annoyed over it?

      With multiple possible contradictory endings you must choose one to build upon if you want to continue the story.
