Sir, you forgot the help desk role. Tech support is hospitality... or suffers just as much
Thank you Sir Swag for continuing to share our mission!
If anyone's interested in getting the full picture of issues like the one in this video, check out the link in the description and let us know if you have any questions.
I love the retail segment basically makes the point that “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey is psychological warfare. A point I absolutely agree with.
Working with the public can be rewarding, but far too many people now act a fool in public feeling like it’s a business job to change everything to cater to them.
"too many people now act a fool in public"? Let's not romanticize the past, this has always been the case
as a security guard my role is often hospitality.
Giving information, directions, organizing crowed, patronizing, taking complaints, keeping people safe. that sort of thing.
I grinded the waiter subclass for a couple years and it honestly helped so much to get rid of some major charisma debuffs that I spawned in with and only increased my already good fortitude stats. I think most players would benefit from this side quest regardless of your endgame goals.
agreed. The waiting subclass is very underrated in my opinion (if you spec into the right map). I make great money and great xp.
I agree, stay a few years and once you've picked up your stat boosts swap subclasses as fast as you can
This is what i love about Sir Swagy. helping irl dudes to find out what they good at, and make everyone to be op.
The chef subclass shares a large amount of stats and debuffs with the less popular early game "dishwasher" subclass having other state similar to retail with the "customer bullshit" debuff being substituted with the "coworker bullshit" debuff
And the « sun never rises » debuff
Hahahaha, I love that @13:10, I'm not having a shitty life, I'm just doing a challenge run.
as a bartender, dont become a bartender unless you really like the smell of piss
Good to know, but ok for those without a sense of smell
Service is tough, thankless work. Kudos to the good people who feeds mah jiggles
As someone grinding this class for over 60h a week during the last 8 years... I must say my endurance has been maxed, but my sanity meter crashed last week and I will now be needing two months to refil it.
As someone who worked a catering job in a wealthy town, everything SirSwag says in this video is 100% accurate (I’ve only read the thumbnail)
Holy shit the production value of this video is amazing
Where did you get the budget to make the visuals this good??
I feel obligated to tell young people looking for part time: work in pizza delivery for a mid to rich people or wait tables for a mid to rich restaurant. If you're old enough be a bar tender at a popular bar. You'll graduate college and make less than what you were doing to get there
I’d just like to make an addendum, that grinding hard in the food and drink sub classes can in fact open up managerial quest’s which are much more viable when entering the mid to late game.
The money and XP is low for a long time but can rapidly increase at the cost of larger de-buffs and a respec into a more intelligence focused build.
Sincerely, a bartending and waiter player grinding the promotion subquest
Listening to this while i level up my "looking busy"- Skill
As a nurse main, I have so much respect for retail mains. I'm jealous of their fortitude stat as I couldn't dream of ever being able to deal with the random shit that customers throw at you on a daily basis
You'd think as a nurse you would had your fair share of that already? Your customers aren't always the most polite righteously minded people either.
A tip to counter the music debuf is to use headphones and aply a music buff
Retail does get boring real quick sometimes
You can get some good stories from it though.
I love this. 10/10. Great graphics too
Very important to have when going on Balam Industries sponsored field trips.
as a hospitality main, this is a very accurate video.
We need more videos like this on this channel
I'm currently in the retail subclass for the last 6-ish patches. With my already born with high extrovert passive I managed to grind a high charisma stat enabling me to engage with almost any customer NPC and co-player retailers. I have however, gained a de-buff for becoming increasingly frustrated over sloppy work and disregard for rules and guidelines that I in previous patches wouldn't have cared nor noticed about. I think I'll be grinding this subclass for a few more patches before trying out a new Hospitality subclass as the monotone work really drains my mana/mental strength quicker and quicker by each patch. I'm thinking of grinding a language add-on to try a Hospitality subclass that deals with language bridges, which I believe will lead to increased work variety.
Cheers, Liaker.
This is great.I hope more people see this.
as a worker for little caesars, on a stripcenter, connected to a highway outside of the town i live and worked on many other restaurants for years, the thing about roads could not be more true, we sell more pizzas that any other local restaurants in the main square of town
As a manager myself, you were spot on, especially with the overtime debuff.
Brilliant!
News sponsor on a news channel😮
Great video 😎
I loved the amazing pixel art in the video!
That sponsor transition was smooth af
Oh this is fun!! If you make this a series, you should do "Utility" aka blue collar work next!
the subtle joke of Australia having bad connection at the start was just golden. As an Aussie I can confirm our internet always sucks
As someone who specced first into retail and now specced into the prison guard class, my night owl feat is a godsend at times. But even with a maxed out fortitude for my level, I'm still getting pushed over my limit with between 70 and 90 hours of work a week.
I love u guys !
Mained hospitality for the past 8 years, I’ll never say I regret it, but I’m glad I changed classes. I did my time, and I think a lot of people would benefit from the perks that come with maxing out the skill tree, but you definitely begin to see diminishing returns as the buffs haven’t rolled around yet. Cooking is a major part of the game and it helps to build up your Charisma stat too, but if you want earn more GP without having to afk the same enemy for 60+ hours a week, I’d look to level a different class…
This deserved more views
Interested in seeing you review the gameplay style of the tech class especially since the developers have just dropped the beta for the AI update
I got an ad on this vid!!!
Where did you get all that awsome pixle art?
I worked both retail and fast food before deciding that I could do better, so I decided to become a wage slave to toyota
The pixel art goes hard!
I loved being a delivery driver because of all the weird shit I’d see or just fun interactions with random folks
I personally as an ADHD main I dig how you break things down
This is too accurate
nice ad transition
As somone who’s in the hotel industry I sorta agree with what you’re saying. However you can make some crazy amounts of money once you branch out into resorts and luxury hotels. Becoming a manager of a Hilton pay a lot more than one would think.
Last sentence hit me hard
Can’t wait for the emergency class
Not going to lie, I actually forgot that tutoring jobs still exist.
Shout out to the merchant who wait for us outside boss room❤❤❤
Considering that the average customer I have to deal with in my retail job has an IQ lower than the temperature in the building, I find this video to be quite accurate and amusing
“Thick Skin” is just a good skill to have period - would highly recommend
Unfortunately, the classism mechanic present in the current meta means that the amount of people who actually personally know hospitality mains is skewed disproportionately low. This makes the general public more vulnerable to the propaganda debuffs thrown out by business mains during strike questlines, notably including the abridged tipping rule section. In reality, the current meta for tips is to combine them with an exemption to the Minimum Wage game rule, which turns the income of hospitality mains perilously inconsistent with the absence of a livable base level. In low social security metas in particular this applies a powerful Precarity debuff on the service mains, severely reducing their stats during negotiation events. This is why the union factions are important, as the law mains they provide are generally immune to this status.
You clearly play on the USA server.
@@ndazza Actually, I play on the EU server, where the tips mechanic is nerfed into the ground compared to USA. I just happen to have the News Hound perk, which has a nasty synergy with USA's Hegemony server effect that disproportionately boosts their data on the cross-server message boards.
@@illusive-mike Ah, my mistake. I'm on the Australian server where the tipping mechanic is disabled but the minimum wage policy is rigorously enforced.
Sir Zoo?
Tier Swag?!
Did they deliberate spell cilantro wrong?
Instructors/Teachers class please :)
Does valet drivers count as a hospitality subclass?
For me this is like watching a tutorial of a game I've already played. Should have put more points into my "tolerance of idiocy" stats.
wholesome vid
7th comment here after the first 5 min been posted. I can't sleep thanks for another video
1:16 Typo
This is wayyy too accurate did all of you work retail and add details?!?
Yes I (editor) do
Awesome video, but do one on the Lima Declaration
And don't delete my comment this time. I know ya did
If your comment disappeared it was probably CZcams's algorithms or someone reporting it for some reason. On a channel this size there's no way the channel would bother deleting it themselves. Occam's razor applies here
@@ndazza ppffffftttt no fucking way, I put the same comment on yesterday's community post and it was gone within five minutes. Ofc it was Sirswag. Not your Occam's razor bullshit
@@AussieDepresso so comments that are deleted within 5 minutes must be deleted by the channel owner? Genuinely curious what you think.
I feel attacked. I need to get a tattoo apparently
I dont even want to know how much time went into the graphical side of this video.
yo
U shuld talk about the conviction nerfs ur bed gives you in some video
If I hear another "so its free?" joke while holding something well over $200 in electronics im gonna join the the war tech tree
can i disable my tip meter, i dont like guilting other people
Im guessing from your pfp you're a furry, bro you need the money
The voice feels... bizarrely slow in this video? I feel like it's usually a little faster.
Lego
Where can i play this pixel game 😂
The guide: Don't.
Man, I have to be honest, after hearing the guy voice all your regular videos, I can't go back to the auto-generated voice. It's just so abrasive comparatively. I used to be able to stand it but damn, something's changed in me.
Its an elaborate game, but its too grindy for my taste. The devs have impressed but im not the target audience
first
First
You didn't even talk about fast food workers, sadge
the video is interesting, the edit is great but the chat bot ruins it all. especially with this age of ai generated content the ai voice decreases the fun.
They've been using text to speech for like 8 years lol
Lazy AI-voiced video. Why not just record the voiceover yourself?
This has got to be a troll. The digital voice has been part of the channel for for longer than AI has been popular.
Watch some of his old Siege videos. They're just made better by the computer voice. Lol
