One more little quick thing :your review is very useful but adding some remarks on how each of the board behaves in real conditions would help : using it on pavements where there re some urban obstacles and different road heights would be a good addition. From what I read, any minor road difference is very challenging and difficult with a 2 wheels hoverboard.

I hope you will be getting a unicycle :) when you get good at it, you can be perfectly stable at walking speeds also. As i owner of the ninebot one e plus i can not even understand why someone would waste their money on a hoverboard when its practicly useless on uneven roads. If you do not go straight on with it, it will throw you off to the sides. A unicycle works on almost any terrain. Just look at my videos as proof :p generation 2016

I own an x3 hoverboard and from what I've done so far on it, never had any problems with an incline like this one in the video or a couple of slightly steeper ones. The trick to riding the hoverboard is in the ankles, not the leaning of the body. Much better control at top speed. I love my x3 for the simple fact of how easy it is to maneuver. And believe it or not, you can get a hoverboard through a space smaller than the board it wide. Just ride it like a caster board or a rip stick and go sideways through the space.

I would defiantly go with the Hoverboard because they seem more comfortable to ride and they turn with less struggle
I have both and it took me a while to chose what I should get:hover board or the wheel.
I finally chose the wheel because it's faster and since it has a pumped up wheel you can go in gravel,grass pretty much anything and also prefer the wheel because maybe it doesn't seem more stable than the hoverboard but it is just harder to Learn at first and is funner to ride you can lean and do slaloms.
That's just my opinion.
And the one I got is the IPS T260

I have owned BOTH scooters for about 4 months now. My favorite is the unicycle hands down. It goes way faster, and handles bumps and obstacles with a breeze, due to its fully inflatable tire. The wheel comes with a handle to make it portable, but best of all... Once you have a DEEP understanding of how to balance the cycle, its second nature to walking! I take it shopping indoors all the time. I shop for groceries, clothes, take it to the mall. I can balance as slow as walking speed for my college friends, and I can come to a stand still if I touch (not hold onto) something. Its even pretty easy to stop, by just resting a foot on the ground. Hands down, dont buy the hoverboard!

Nice review. Please encourage all riders to wear a helmet and wrist guards at a minimum. All devices can fail or one can lose one's balance and fall. Many serious injuries have resulted. Personally, I have ended up in the ER because of a design flaw with my Rockwheel, which required my getting stitches above my eye. WEAR A HELMET!!!

Solowheel came out first and in my mind is the better product compared the popular hoverboard simply because you could take them off of flat surfaces, meanwhile the hoverboard was more reliant on smooth surfaces, so if you wanted to head to the store, or from the bus to work, where you run into paths and sidewalks that had cracks, uneven areas and more wear and tear the solowheel was shown ( and you can look it up) to work better in the real world. While the hoverboard ( which was called the hovertrax) could barely handle it.. It was more of a novelty item.

The hoverboard looks much more comfortable for the legs and less tiring than the monowheels as the legs are further apart on the board.
I own the ninebot one e plus. And as you get good on it you dont even feel it in your legs. Its 0 effort. 30km easy without pain. You also have to look at the bigger picture. The hoverboard is just a hoax and big because its hip. Its pretty useless and a pain in the ass. Any uneven terrain will throw you off. Its battery goes down very quick when climbing hills. Unless the roads are perfect, you will have to work a lot to get from a to b. On a unicycle you just fly over it.
Yeah, the unicycle does seem better, at least you don't see as much people falling from them :P I just commented because it looked like having the legs closer together and slightly bent would be more fatiguing. :)
I owned an electric unicycle and now have a handleless segway. The unicycle takes longer to learn. It's also harder to turn and makes much wider turns. Reversing on it will take weeks to learn and it also has speed control. Unless you shell out over $900 for a premium unicycle, you won't be going any faster than 10mph. Unlike the boards, the unicycle will physically throw the rider off if you reach max speed.
You also have have to keep moving on them to stay on it. Otherwise you'll have to step on and off just to stop and start. And believe me, stepping on is difficult for the first week or so.
Yes the boards are more sensitive to the ground, the wobbles will go away the more you ride. The electric unicycles suck.

The unicycle wont stop when you reach max speed, they will tilt back to prevent you from going any faster. unless you buy a dirt cheap EUC, it will have this feature. Yes it takes longer to learn, but you can ride it pretty much anywhere a normal bike could go. Uneven roads or gravel is no problem at all and you will simply fly over it. I have been riding the entire summer and have 1500kmh on my unicycle, and not once did i hade to ride it backwards.. you go slow when you need to and fast when you can. I can also turn in a dime. I dont need any more space than the space im taking up when standing still to turn. This will come with practise... You can get lots of different brands that offer good speed and range for not that much money these days.
As with any unicycle, its easier to keep balance when the wheel is in motion, but its possible to move forward and without loosing balance at slower than a 90 yr old persons walking speed. Stepping on and off is 0 problem after a week or 2 of riding. its all about what and how you practise. Maybe you just dont have balance, not a good enough reason to talk trash about a superior design and product. The unicycle is a real transporting device with a lot more positives than negatives when compared to a hoverboard. Dont talk shit about something you dont know anything about...
GranVlog It seems you've never ridden a board before. The boards have zero degree turning. The unicycle does not. Period. And for that reason, turning in tight spaces can be difficult if not impossible. In that scenario, the ability to ride in reverse would be necessary albeit undeniably difficult. Plus riding backwards is fun. It's not about having to. It's about wanting to. And the pedals tilt back as a speed warning when the rider is going high speed. Something that's still annoying and unnecessary. And something the board also doesn't do. When the rider goes the actual maximum speed it throws the riders body off of the device. It happened to me when I rode it too fast.
And I wasn't regarding balance. I mean that if you want to bring the eu to a complete stop, you must step off with at least one foot. With boards, you can halt with both feet on the device which makes for a far more continuous experience. It also makes the boards indoor friendly. Stopping and starting with zero momentum also takes time to learn and is tedious once learned.
The boards take 10 minutes to get the hang of. And also don't leave your ankles red and sore and your lower legs cut up.
I had my unicycle for months until I bought a board. Then I stopped riding it altogether when I got the board. Then I sold it. The only design advantage is the 14 inch tire. That's it.

I've used both of these electric scooters. To me the hover board is way more easier to control and a lot safer. The unicycle was faster but when you reach the top speed you kind of lose control and don't know how to balance it anymore, because of that, I fell off and hit the ground a few times.
Forgot to tell you that the unicycle comes with two extra wheels that help you get used to it.

Sorry that is just wrong. All you have to do is balance left and right. The unicycle will balance front and back for you. I have never rode a unicycle before and it only took me 1 hour to learn to ride this and basicly took it onto the roads weaving between chinese traffic.
Literally anyone can learn this within a day.

henrik4124 I am Norwegian so no problems here. It says 10-20 kmh. 20 kmh beeing the max speed and its probably not very safe at that speed. not much headroom left. But if you have the unit, please feel free to upload a video where you record your phone running a gps speedometer and also where you are able to maintain that speed for at least 5 seconds.
Most hoverboards does 12-16 kmh and i feel like this is just a marketing trick like soo many other pages selling them.
