    Love the videos! I picked up a used Onewheel Plus (HW 3206) using the advice and checklist from your site. Joining that float life, beginner status! Also a big fan of the hard case you recommended for potential future air travel, which was also a big factor in deciding between a OW or EUC since most EUCs have too hefty a battery to travel with. I just need an EGO range extender on here (looking at the Sonny since the land surf options are sold out) and I think it ticks all the boxes as the perfect OneWheel make and model for me. I used a Hand truck, like to use to move large items, not the up-the-stair type but 2-8” hard wheels and handles at top, to learn to balance It was heavy enough to keep me up around and around, the block, after a couple of trips. Used it like I was pushing a cart at the store. Don’t do at night after dark, the shadows are eye tricks and falling will result. Then about 1/2 hour doing laps around a parked pickup truck…the finger prints were ridiculous, but then I rode away able to ride for a 10, on the fun-o-meter!! Good job learning, although you did it the hardest way possible, which is learning to get your second foot onto a pedal into open space. There is a far easier method to learning, which I just happen to teach! Perfect choice for a first EUC--I rode a King Song KS-16S myself for a year, although by then I owned several others. The 16S is comfortably designed, feature filled, excellent quality, the right size, and amount of power to learn and develop your EUC skills. My current favorite wheel is the King Song KS-18XL. If you are getting along well with your 16S, the 18XL is the ideal upgrade, but if you never feel like exceeding the speed of the 16S, you've already got your wheel.

      @@freshlycharged It looks like you've sweated it out and gotten over the hardest part of the learning curve already, so you're probably past needing much basic training. I think your extensive Onewheel experience allowed you to learn the wheel much faster than usual. My wheel blog (3euc.com) has a Newbies section with pointers on how to learn and ride. I teach people one-on-one in the Los Angeles area and can even supply a trainer wheel, for people who are trying to figure out if they'll like it, or get some training so they won't wreck their first wheel (or themselves).

Also the trick riders of wheelie motorcycles have low air pressure in their tires,this also allows more control side to side. 25 lbs and up to gain upright and turning ability. Some of your videos about the Onewheel helped convince me to buy a OW about a month ago, and as of 2 days before this EUC video released, I also bought an EUC and started learning.
    I’m already certain that my EUC Will replace my onewheel.
    I’m terrified of nosedives, and as cool as the OW idea is, I think the protrusion of the board in the direction of travel will always be a problem for OW’s design.
    In my mind, Onewheel exists less for viability, and more for simulating the feeling of boarding sports.
    Another reason I’m choosing an EUC is that Riding forward facing works better with the natural symmetry in my body, where as the OW keeps my hips, spine and neck twisted in one direction for long periods of time, which Seems like it would develop A-symmetry in my body over time.
    Great Video! Can’t wait to see how you progress.

    I'll have my first wheel (18XL) in about three weeks, I've already been strategizing (and learning from others) how to go about learning to use it. I may or may not have a leg up because of things I know from motorcycle riding. For example, power applied and controlled is how you keep a motorcycle stable. This is what keeps motorcycles stable at low speed. You use a combination of power applied and braking to achieve this. It should be a similar dynamic for a EUC once muscle coordination/familiarity of the control is built.
    Now hopefully I can find some dog poop free areas of grass to use in Central Park... ;p

    @rcgldr Před 2 lety

    You chose a difficult order to learn how to ride EUC. You can change the order so that you are only learning one new skill at a time. First use a wall or a rail for support and use that to mount and rock back and forth to get an idea of how the EUC moves. Then with one foot on, do a few steps and stop, to learn how to stop and step off without dropping the EUC. Next use the wall to mount, launch, and do short rides. Eventually move away from the wall, and as you did in your video, steer into the fall by arm flailing, flail left to steer right and vice versa. Find an area large enough that you feel comfortable with more speed. I got a V8F about 3 weeks ago, my first EUC, and a cover so the V8F wouldn't get scratched up from bailing off and dropping it. For the V8F, at about 6 to 8 mph, it becomes much more stable. This is because leaning the EUC causes it to steer, and at this speed, if you start to fall and lean the EUC the same as your body, the steering response is close enough to correct the fall to make it stable. I then worked on leaning forwards | backwards for speed control, and tilt (move inside foot down, outside foot up) steering, tilting the EUC so that it steers you instead of you steering the EUC. I also improved my stops so I could stop leaving one foot on the EUC and not grabbing it, although this isn't a needed skill at this point. The last step was to learn free mount (no support), which I did on a soccer field, my first time on grass. Since I already knew how to ride, I was only learning how to free mount. Rather than learn one foot glide, I just stepped 2 or 3 times and hopped on. Now it's just a case of improving my turning skills so I'm making fewer and smaller mid-turn corrections, and later learning how to tilt steer for tighter turns at slower speeds, although with a 16 inch wheel, it's not going to turn as tight as a MTen3 with it's 10 inch wheel.

      You've been warned accurately! Get out now or there is no going back, once you've caught the EUC bug. I have had 10+ wheels, kind of stopped keeping count, selling and buying as newer models come out. I've had or tried most models from Ninebot, King Song, and InMotion. I currently have a King Song KS-18XL, GotWay MSX, and Ninebot One Z10, although I find I am riding almost exclusively the King Song 18XL over any others. The Onewheel XR (their best model for $1799) has an optimal range of 12-18 miles. The KS-18XL ($2250 with the newer 10 inch pedals and a 2nd charger) has that for breakfast, with easily a range of 60+ miles.
