    2017 I bought an airwheel X3 and i used it the whole season as long it wasnt raining or snowing. I got really comfortable and before i knew it i was going through my phone/texting while driving at max speed which was 15km/h. However, one day it decided to start failing on me. A lot! a small incline when the motor had to give a bit more torque, it turned off. I've hurt myself so many times over it to the point of where I dont have any confidence in a unicycle anymore. I really miss the times i had with it though, but losing my faith in it and the fact that a unicycle just turns off without notice if you push it too hard is just not something i want to gamble on anymore. These new unicycles are way more powerfull now than ever before though, but since the chance for it to cut off is there, im switching to electric scooter. it's impossible to prepare yourself for a unicycle to turn of unless you constantly prepare yourself for it....but what is the joy in that?

    • @Thephilpw99
      @Thephilpw99 Před 3 lety +2

      This is a common problem for the old generation of EUCs. The controller board's design was defective. Very famous "face plant" which almost every rider had experienced.
      Today's new wheels can run thousands of miles without that problem. Yup, the risk is still there. Wear your full-face helmet and knee pads, but other than that EUC will bring you so much more fun than biking and scootering.

    • @taigaboi
      @taigaboi Před 3 lety +1

      @@Thephilpw99 lol this is a problem for all unicycles dude. If you push the gyro to hard and there isn't enough power from battery or the engine, it cuts off. You still see this to this day that cut offs occurs. Dont tell my that unicycle dont have cut off problems anymore, it's simply not true at all. just a few weeks ago a cut off happened to Adam! You cant trust a unicycle 100%. a crash is just way more fatal than a scooter if it cuts off. Sorry bro, but yes unicycle was fun, but never again.

    • @Thephilpw99
      @Thephilpw99 Před 3 lety +4

      @@taigaboi I have friend who lost an eye riding bicycle and crashing into a car. When you push the limit of any sport, you will get hurt. So if you worry about power cut-off so much, you just need to stay in the safe side: ride slow when the battery is low, wear all the protection gear, don't push the EUC for hard acceleration... Nothing is unpreventable. If the cut-off stops you from riding, this is a little sad, because you and I both know how much fun it can be.

      @The-Opium-Den Před 3 lety

      Well, good on you for choosing the electric scooter. After looking at a few EUC videos I was under the impression e-scooters are just a much safer platform to be on in case of failure. I find they're not as interesting to get into as EUCs are. With that having been said, you might want to consider EUCs by Gotway, Inmotion, and KingSong. The Airwheel brand has fallen into disrepute among the EUC community due to its old tech and unreliability. Yes, all EUCs do still have that cut off problem but the Airwheel is a toy of the past now. About the only things going for that brand are the relative lightness of their wheels and cheapness. As far as performance and long-term usability are concerned that brand is junk. I wouldn't even buy their non-EUC products since there are much better brands out there for those PEVs, too.

  • @onecrazywheel

    With these EUC's are they tubed or tubeless tires? Thanks so much. First time viewer and comment.
    I ride a traditional 24 inch 3 inch wide tire unicycle since 2004-5. I have been riding unicycles since age 12 and now I'm 38. Good sport. I need to get back into riding again soon. I have an Kris Holm air saddle too which is basically an intertube under the seat for comfort. I would riding my unicycle on trails to with my mountain bike style tire and for street riding I use my Hookworm street tire.
    I really like the idea 💡 of an EUC. Right now I'm going to stick to my manual traditional unicycle but someday would consider it. I put $900 into my custom unicycle too. The price of these EUC's are pricey but they're really awesome looking. I recently also got a Juiced RipRacer e-bike and I have been using that as my commuter for work 12 miles away. It is a lot of fun .
    Thanks for this video.

      I only wear a helmet when riding my electric skateboards however on my 16x I feel the need for full gear ie; full face helmet, elbow and knee pads. When I’m going 25 mph + the thought of the euc “cutting out” or something else causing me to come off the wheel is scary. If not wearing all this gear massive road rash is going to happen or worse.

    • @TheSkystrider

      Yeah I think in a lot of unexpected situations the euc gonna be safest cuz you can just step off and walk BUT any situation that you can't land on your feet, road rash gonna hurt. Going too fast for situations is going to be most of our accidents. I think we can ride safely but I don't have an euc yet - when I get one I will wear full face helmet (I have proper bike one already), wrist guards, knee & shin guards.

    Nice video! I'm wondering what would happen if you came across a normal stone on your path at 15 mph . Would the wheel drive over it or would you fall down? I'm thinking of getting one or an electric scooter.
    I can't make up my mind, to be honest. Anyway, due to the fact that I'm newbie, I considered the Ninebot ES2 or the Inmotion V5F. Could you give me your opinion about them? Thanks!

      You probably made your decision a long time ago but I went in with the same conundrum and chose the unicycle. It's been 3 days and already I feel like it's second nature to me. I figure one would probably jump over the stone if the velocity is right but you would have to anticipate it. Depends on the wheel size as well.

    My question is how does it compare to onewheel XR? The one wheel xr is lot slower and has shorter range yes, but I'm more interested in the fun factor and off road capabilities. I live in Scotland surrounded by mountains and dirt roads. Does anyone have experience with both machines? I want to get something for Christmas and the onewheel XR caught my eye the most so far.
    EDIT: I should probably add that I use to downhill and freestyle on a normal unicycle some time back so ballance is not an issue.

    I've been looking at these for a couple months now. Looks like a fun hobby to go out and cruise. Would love to go off on some trails. Why I haven't bought one yet? Price. Not as convenience as some say. Heavy and bulky still have to store it somewhere. Is it really better than walking, biking, or a car? I already own a car and a bike. Although, in a city, parking could be easier. All the gear you have to buy. Helmet, pads, etc... all is an added cost plus I hate hat hair can't go to the office with helmet head lol. The learning curve. Need to find a day to practice than slowly keep getting better. Anyone know how long it takes to get good? I saw 90 minutes to learn to ride, but I am talking about confident won't fall? I will probably get one for the fun of it. But I think part of the problem is most are trying to sell this as a convenient transportation, when in reality it seems more like a fun toy or hobby. I'm probably over thinking it, but $1500 plus is not cheap so rather put thought into the purchase to make sure I get something I like.

    • @whatsupbudbud
      @whatsupbudbud Před 2 lety

      1. Price - if you use a lot of rental scooters, the price will pay back soon enough. Not to mention using the car for short trips. You can carry full travel backpack with groceries on this thing easily.
      2. Heavy and bulky - Don't have an issue with this. Walking with it like with a perfect dog as it has a carry handle and the motor does the heavy lifting. Mine is 15 kg.
      3. Finding a parking space with this thing in the trunk is a breeze.
      4. Gear - you only need it if you intend to go fast. When I don't go above 18km/h, I don't use gear. Haven't fell once but this will depend on your physical condition.
      5. Getting good - took me 5 minutes to start riding, 30 minutes to get good. Like before, it depends.
      6. It's a very convenient transportation device. Can take it in car, taxi, train, tram, bus, shop, charge quickly, etc.
      Hope this helps someone. I love this thing as much as my Mercedes. :)

    I've had the emove cruiser (about $1300) for about 8 months and I've been having to maintain it so often its annoying, I might just fix it up, sell it, and use the money to buy the V11. I was also looking into buying the onewheel but this unicycle doesn't nick and dime me on parts I absolutely need like the *FENDER* or the cap for the charging port. Not to mention the speed this thing can go. Wish me luck!
