    Really appreciate the review--there are so many reviews of new rvs, but the real question is how something holds up after years. Your review of a GEO-PRO after serious usage is rare and helpful, thank you for taking the time to post it. Your point about cost-to-own value is meaningful given your usage. Thanks again.

    This video is much better than walk throughs of new RV's. They all look good when they're new. What counts is how they hold up and this is encouraging. Glad you turned on the A/C and talked while it was on high. Some of them are apparently incredibly loud but this one seems manageable. Thanks for doing the video.

    Hi from Idaho. Just discovered your channel this morning. Really appreciate the 2-year review. I'm looking at getting a GeoPro as well. It's especially interesting to me to know how it's held up, given the off-road use, because I do the same kind of adventures in the mountains. Also good to know that the slide mechanism holds up to off-road travel. I think it's key that you keep the unit clean and maintain it well. It shows pride of ownership. Take care, keep adventuring!

      Mark Thank you! We have a lot of archived footage that I’m editing now and will upload every week-ish. Sometimes it’s super hard to find a coffee shop that has good upload speeds while traveling. Most little cafes have WiFi with decent download speeds, but if I’m out traveling, it takes about 2 hours to upload a 10 minute video over most WiFi:( At home it’s pretty fast, so I try to upload something every week from home now that we’re not currently full-time:)

    You are correct - I have the 2019 19FD. It has a 1000W inverter. I added another solar panel (220W) after my flex panel took on a little hail and lessened the output a little. I also bought an Inergy Kodiak which will run the microwave and a coffee maker off grid and anything requiring up to 1500W. Thanks for the update!

    We just bought ours, so it is great to see how well your unit has held up. We went from an Airstream to the offroad Murphy bed unit, so quality and the way it holds up over time is something we were/are concerned about. Came across your longer-term review for some of the reasons you ended up mentioning -- as the Rockwood line seems to nail the high-value mark. The fact that you had been full-timing and getting out there is a huge endorsement to the quality. Appreciate that you mentioned that alternative floorplan, as I was going to ask you in comments if you had thoughts. It appears finding a 2018-19 in good shape is the solution.

    Great review of a very nice trailer. Just stumbled upon it, but will check out your channel. Only point is regarding the "rv/marine" toilet paper. Good friends with a tissue maker and when I asked him what is the difference between RV toilet paper and regular home toilet paper. He replied the price and the packaging.... We have over 350 nights in our trailers since mid 2016 and have always used whatever we have on hand, or whatever the super market happens to have where ever we are. Never had an issue. I just let the black tank fill up and dump it when it needs dumping and never have an issue. Mind you we are not stationary much, with well over 30,000 miles in those 350 nights, so the shaking keeps things flowing too.... safe travels...

    I just subscribed! I have a Rockwood Mini Lite 23' currently, and have been thinking about downsizing to a Geo Pro to allow more off-grid and boondocking adventures. The only hesitation has been that my Mini Lite has been EXTREMELY reliable, and I didn't want to give any of that up with the Geo Pro. Not that I suspected the Geo Pro was junk, but just wasn't sure. This was a very well-done video that was to the point. Hope to watch more of your adventures!

    • @JeffInDFW
      @JeffInDFW Před 3 lety +1

      Both are made by Rockwood, and honestly the Mini Lite is a larger Geo Pro. In other words, Geo Pros are narrower, lower ceiling, shorter in length. BUT....You know how there is the smallest Geo Pro, then one slightly larger, then another slightly larger. Well, once you get above a certain size (I think 20 feet) then they simply made it a little wider, a little taller, and gave it tandem (two) axles to handle the weight and voila, you have the Mini Lite. BOTH use the same torsion axle system. BOTH use Azdel on interior and exterior walls. BOTH have water miser for the shower. BOTH are fully welded aluminum for the entire frame AND the bed frames and dinettes etc. BOTH use vacuum bonded side walls, rear walls, and ROOF. BOTH use Maxx air fans with vent covers. Get the idea I'm sure. Both so much better built and equipped than anything else in the price range. No, I don't even own a RV yet, but after 3-4 years of research, phone calls, emails etc, I feel very confident that I have found my trailer. Either a Geo Pro or Mini Lite.

    I have a 19 FD . After 2 years I have had only minor issues. I don't travel as much as you do and I'm in the Midwest so solar really wasn't worth it for me. During year one I had the LCD on the radio go out, they replaced the entire radio. Plastic piece that retracts to close the toilet pipe cracked in half, the just replaced the whole toilet. A drawer bottom kept falling out but that was mostly due to excessive weight in the drawer. Stove wasn't secured correctly in the counter, they put better screws in it to secure it properly. Stereo speakers had to be taken out and cleaned because of debris from cabinet was all inside the speakers which made them sound blown out ( I just did this myself). The biggest problem was the same you had with support for the drainage pipe that broke. This is something I didn't even see until someone pointed it out to me. The pipe was pretty low and could of been ripped off causing some major damage to the plumbing. I would recommend anyone that buys one of these to get that reinforced or replaced with better hardware. I'm overall happy with my camper and at the price point you can't find anything as modern looking with all the features this camper has. Thanks for all you videos, I've been following you since I bought my camper.

    Hi Jason, I bought a fds after watching your video out here in Colorado ( off road High country adventure). I have had only a few minor problems after 1 year. Like yours, my black water pipe hanger strap broke---twice! (easy fix): drawers under the sink bounce open on rough roads (made a cute little plastic lock to keep them shut); Frame to body bolts were all loose (tightened them); the plastic FM radio antenna mount on roof broke (15$ for new antenna--easy to replace); I too bent a stabilizer jack while pulling out of a very deep muddy jeep road last June where we got 7 inches of snow (buy a 2 pack from Amazon to have a spare, VERY easy to replace); and last but not least I forgot to turn on the water to the hot water heater after my first winterization and proceeded to burn out the electric heating element ( about $25 for the part and very easy to replace in about 25 minutes).
    I drove 3,500 miles from Colorado to north central Penn and back for the ETAR archery rendezvous last July and had no problems at all.
    DO NOT forget to look up how to manually close your tip out room if your motors fail. Mine have had no problems, but I was next to a guy with a different RV which had the same slide out mechanism and it was stuck out (2 months old RV). The motors have an electric lock so you must remove battery power to push the slide in, unless you go to the trouble of removing the motors. There is no manual crank to close the slide out room. It takes 1 young person or two old geezers like myself to push it back in.Keep the videos coming.

    Thank you for the great review... I was kinda of bummed because I wanted a Geo Pro FBS and it wasn't on stock, so we got the FD (which my husband preferred). My number one choice was the 17PR hybrid but it was hard enough finding one near us. Love your channel and adventures. You hippie comment made me laugh because it's true!!! ☮✌❤ I feed them too. 😁

      Johanna del Busto LOL! Yeah - we wanted the FD but like you, had to decide if we wanted to wait 3 months and miss out on the first summer or take what was in stock. The FBS is nice, I just really like that booth seating area that you have in your FD:)
      We’ve never had issues with our slideout, but you’ll never have problems;) plus save a few hundred pounds in weight. The 17’s has a really cool layout but we wanted a full bath since we were going to be full time:)

    Great video!
    Considering how affordable solar is now, 100 - 200 Watts is really weak, as in poor factory design.
    At this price point, this is the best current "medium".
    If you are towing with an automatic transmission, an update on that in the future would be interesting.
    Worth repeating, a very good video, a great service to us future buyers. THANK YOU!

    • @Culane
      @Culane Před 3 lety +1

      It's funny though some other upper medium quality RV's don't come with solar or come with 50w, so, 100w pre-wired for another 100 up top and wired for more at the ground is actually quite a value package on the Geo/E-pro imo.

    • @harryjansen6990
      @harryjansen6990 Před 3 lety

      Why would you need over 200 Watts of factory solar? The average customer has 1 or maybe 2 12V batteries up front. Maybe 2 6V's which is plenty for a weekend or a bit more. Anymore and you will be looking at $$$ upgrades.

    I have the same model, without the offroad package. stereo had to be replaced last year, the awning motor had to be replaced, it is currently in the shop because the fridge stopped working, I need to replace the USB charging zone - not covered by warranty. The clean water valve for the toilet failed last year too. Rockwood is usually a great quality brand but mine seems to just be a lemon.

    Inverter fell off the wall, because all screws stripped, stairs come up from floor because all the screws were stripped, blinds falling off the wall, because all the screws where stripped. Drawers flying apart because all the screws where stripped, I will never buy new again. warranty is worthless if you are away from home, and i would rather save the $10,000 and do all the repairs myself, oh wait, I have had to do all the repairs myself! I hate this camper. sorry glad you having good luck, but i think people should also hear the other side of the coin. Hope mine holds together on our remaining 3000 miles so that I can get it in and get the bigger issues fixed at my dealer, because no other dealer will work on them because they do not get paid fair market value for their labor. Do not take this as anything against you, i'm sure yours is doing great, i just saw you video review, and i know others will be watching it so figured they should hear about what can go wrong and the fact rockwood does not return calls because they just want to pass the buck to the dealer, but the dealer cant help you when your thousands of miles away. Buy used, you do not get any really value for buying new. just end up spending extra money that you will need for repairs that you will probably end up having to do yourself anyway. and the things i'm having to repair are not because of just normal use, its because every freaking screw in this camper was stripped! and not really holding into anything. I wish it was an exaggeration.

      The Johnny O Show Thank you for sharing because like you said, it’s important for people to know - I think you got a lemon:(. My biggest advice to EVERYONE is to schedule your warranty work early (like 2 months early). We were out of commission for almost 6 weeks waiting for a dealer in California. I think it might have been better if we would have had the warranty work done at the same place we purchased it, but that wasn’t an option as were on the other side of the country

    At time mark 9:20 you talk about moisture causing some issues. Was that from leaving the windows open and not AC on with to much moisture in the air? What kind of the piece did they install?
    I live in the Southeast where we can get rain for days, how would the Geo Pro hold up over two years here?
    How is our bathroom sink cabinet holding up with moisture from showers?

    • @GeoProAdventures
      @GeoProAdventures  Před 4 lety

      David Pearson So I think it was just that the air itself was so humid with the constant rain for 8 days plus cooking inside. I’m pretty sure we had the windows closed the whole time because it was a chilly, miserable rain. The panel next to the stove buckled and they fixed it by just adding another piece of trim to the outside edge rather than ripping out the whole closet to try to repair that one piece. If you hadn’t seen a before/after photo, a person probably wouldn’t notice the fix. The repair solved the buckling issue which was our main concern

    • @keetonstudios
      @keetonstudios Před 2 lety

      2 axels are generally for trailers over 5000 pounds. The 19FBS maxed out & full is only about 3500. That being said, as with anything, more axels is theoretically safer. We traveled over 30,000 miles & never had any issues but we’re always mindful of our tire pressure & condition.

    Hi! Thanks for the videos. Great information, especially this one with the 2 year review. I'm new to RV-ing and have narrowed it down to the GP 19fbs and the R Pod 196. I see in your video that you haul with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the V8 engine and tow package which will be my hauling vehicle. Are there any issues hauling with the Jeep? I'm not only new to RV-ing but also to towing, so safety is a big concern. Also, curious what other travel trailers you considered before you decided on the Geo Pro and whether you have an opinion on the R Pod. Thanks!

      Todd Foss I’ve never been up on the roof to inspect it, but I got a good look at it at the truck wash bay that had cat walks to wash the roof plus I get a pretty good view of the solar side as it’s parked just down the hill from the house in Joshua Tree. The bathroom sealant is holding up great with zero leaks :)
