  • I found some things I needed to get fixed already on my new Flagstaff E- Pro 15TB. Thank goodness I’m still in the 6 month warranty window. The process went smooth at Optimum RV where I took it in.

    Our new camper had problems too. Apparently someone forget to connect the external shower fitting, the hot water line under the sink, toilet valve leaked, battery water pump leaked, basically all the plumbing leaked. Gulfstream Vista RS23. I expected some little things but not as much as we have.

    Hi, I watched you connect your weight distribution bars from the bumper hitch to the trailer frame, and it appears there's no tension on them. They're actually should be quite a bit of tension for them to transfer weight from your trailer through the vehicle and down onto your front axle. Also, when they have the proper amount of tension on them, it significantly reduces potentially dangerous trailer sway that you might otherwise experience. I thought I would look down to the comments and see that somebody had already said that. There are tricks to attaching those with tension that the folks at your dealership can show you to make it quite a bit easier. Happy travels.

    Thanks so much for sharing your video's/info, I have a Geo Pro 19FD that I love but was so frustrated with not being able to open the door, exact same issue you had. I put WD-40 on it and that fixed it right up for me. The cabinet doors do the same thing on mine but I just accept it, will be interested if they are able to fix it for you. Good idea to use it as much as possible in the first year while you have a warranty.

      I tried WD-40 on the door and it still got harder to open, but they fixed it👍 I didn’t ask them to fix the cabinets. Figured if it bothers me enough I’ll ask the next time I go in, cause I’m sure there will be a next time. Thank you for watching!

    thanks for documenting your fixes.. i really like that model, i almost got that one.. i wound up getting the sunlite 16bh for the few hundred lbs of weight savings + slightly bigger holding tanks.. but i like your interior better, and nicer window views too.. i’m sure ill find same types of issues with mine!

    Unfortunately most campers are built like crap . I’m on my second forest River trailer and I’ve had to replace and correct the mounting of my cabinet struts , my front window leaked and the manufacturer knew because the filled it with silicone to try and stop it . I had to remove their hack repair and fix it myself. Most of the accessories they screw to the interior walls are just into thin fiberglass with no wood behind for strength . The kitchen faucet came loose by the last trip of the year . For the most part it’s little stuff but my God for the money we pay for these there should be better quality control and workmanship .

    Criss cross the safety chains, criss cross apple sauce, for better safety. Just in case it drops it would catch on the crossed chains and nodrag on the road floor. 👍👍👍

    The sagging doors is more than likely just a loose screw on the hinges. Those are adjustable hinges. You can adjust it with a screwdriver in just a few minutes.

  • @geoknee
    @geoknee Před 9 měsíci +2

    My door does it too. I think it is made to do it. I really like it because even when its unlocked people can’t open it. Once you figure out how to open it, I find it easy. I also had trouble with my storage hatches. I fixed it with a Phillips screw driver, pretty easy. The cabinet doors are a big fail. They need to redo them so they can open from the bottom and not the side. My screws literally came right out of the hinges. But it still is the best little trailer I have ever had. I love mine!

    I have a Rockwood 2109S with the same latches on my garage storage doors and hate them as well. For the price I paid I wish it had the slam latches on the storage doors. Overall the Rockwood is better quality than my previous trailer.
    Also, have them check your weight distribution hitch because, you shouldn’t be able to put those bars on that easily. Although the trailer may be so light it doesn’t take much adjustment.

    🤔I really wish they would have spent the time to show you how to fix those problems... Many of those issues were simple screwdriver work, that you could have fixed, IF you knew how to... The bathroom hatch lock and the kitchen cabinets are not hard to work on, if you know what to do!!! Ughh, I just feel like that shop let you down!!! Find that grandpa campground host, and I bet he'll take the time to show you how to fix those issues, if they come up again... 🙂

    TBH, most of your outside doors seem normal IMO, you want to have to push when latching as this compresses the weather stripping. If they closed too easily without any pressure to latch, the weather stripping would likely let water in...

    All it took for me was one time using the hand crank method to get a cordless drill and it was (together with a whole bag of tools on Amazon) only $100. Best investment. And my method at home is so wonky to hookup is to align garbage cans to create a guide for my Tacoma. It's funny how you can find the silliest means to make it work. i'd love to get a back up camera so if you have a link that'd be awesome. Oh and my door has weird issues but it was with the key system and not actually opening the door. Great video!

    I noticed you don't do lite checks on your walk around. A quick and easy way to do a brake lite check and turn signal check is to turn on the 4 ways. 4 ways use the same filament in the bulb as brake and turn signals.

  • @cameronyoung6784

    Also, ALWAYS cross your tongue chains left goes to right hitch connector and right goes to left hitch connector. That keeps the trailer in a straight line in the event of a failure.

    Push on the door is how they are supposed to be. They are all doing that. I like it even though it can mean putting items down, but also means people who've picked the lock think they've failed. Our dealer actually showed that feature to us. The storage latches are supposed to be very tight. They get easier over time. It helps prevent leaks. We have an e pro 20FBS.

  • @cameronyoung6784
    @cameronyoung6784 Před 10 měsíci

    Those hatch latches are intentionally hard to close as they are waterproof sealed. The front door is also pressure sealed, so use your thumb to press down on the door handle left side and the door opens fine.
    Nothing to fix here...
