Let me know if you have any tips or tricks when emptying your black tank ☀️
Good tutorial, thanks Stephanie. One small suggestion, at the very beginning of dumping, I open the grey tank first real quick (maybe 2 seconds) just to make sure there's no leaks and all the connections are tight/true...MUCH easier to deal with a grey tank "oops" rather than a black tank "oops" if something is loose. Happy travels 😉
Great tip! Thank you ☀️
Let her rip tator chip. Consider getting a rhino flush elbow. They help if you get a TP clog in the line between the valves and the tank, and work great for back flushing your tank. You can run the rhino flusher with all your valves closed as well and it will rinse out your stinky slinky for you. So do you thousand trails? FYI I use to glove up, now I only glove if I have open cuts on my hands, otherwise it's plenty of soap and water after doing the deed. After you get over the ick factor it makes the job way easier. Knowing that you are handling poo things makes you hyper aware of what you are touching. Further more Skin does an incredible job of keeping bacteria at bay. For a measuring device for my toilet chemicals I went to Dollar tree and got a small baby bottle, threw away the nipple and bam you get a small cheap graduated measuring device. Great video! Be safe out there.
@@acidreign0911I like the bottle idea! Thanks for the tips ☀️ I don’t do thousand trails but may consider it in the future
Don't know if it's true but I've heard that pre-wetting the stink tube with grey water helps the poop slide through it.
for all of us newbies out here you are really doing an awesome job and demonstrating the basics of the right way to properly do the basics of camping life.
looking forward to the next video and you’re smiling upbeat face. I love it Stef! 🥰🥰🥰
I love this! ❤️ Thank you so much! ☀️
i’m still trying to decide which Flagstaff to purchase and watching your videos is really helping me. Thank you for all you do. ❤
Thank you I am so glad my videos are helping! That makes me so happy ☀️
There is not a lot of solo-female RV content out here on youtube, so I truly appreciate your videos. I feel more and more confident seeing how you're making this work for yourself. I look forward to more. Stay Safe
Yes 🙌 You got this! ☀️
You have got to be the most REAL person in your RV CZcams!! Total enjoyment and relaxation to follow your journey!! Stay safe and healthy; thanks muchly for what you are creating and good luck!
Thank you so much! ☀️
She's the best professor 😊
Thank you so much ☺️
I use the camco rhino black tank treatment and never had any issues with keeping my tank clean.
Oh s#!t this is good info! I actually just finished emptying mine a while ago. Always an adventure!
I use a cheap food storage container under the drain outlet to catch possible oops when removing cover. I purchased sewer hose wrench because my connection is difficult. I am using Liqufied tank treatment it has a built in measure. Thank you Stephanie for taking us along
I appreciate you mentioning the sewer hose wrench because I have a hard time getting the connections off sometimes. I’m getting one ☀️Thank you for the tips! ☀️
It's awesome that your level meters work. The only one that works on our system is the fresh water. 😂 It's a 19 year old RV so I'm sure there's just some build up over the leads so they are just constantly reading "full." -J
Yes, I’m grateful to have meters ☀️
Thank you so much for the info...safe travels enjoy😊
Of course! ☀️ Safe travels to you too!
Before emptying the black tank, I will run a little water from the gray tank just to "Lube" the sewer hose with a little soapy water, then empty the black tank and finish with the gray water.
Yes 👍 I have definitely incorporated this step into my black tank emptying process ☀️ Makes perfect sense, thank you for the tip!
I put a 50 cal ammo can on the side of the trailer for supplies to use at the Dump Station so I don't have to get in the back compartment. I have the gloves, the sewer attachment, and I got a oil wrench to take off the cap. Works great and everything is on the side when you dump. Nice video.
Thank you ☀️ I sometimes have a hard time getting the cap off. An oil wrench huh? I’ll have to look into that 🤔
@@lifewithstephanie42 The one I got was
Duramove .12-Inch Oil Filter Pliers Adjustable PVC Wrench Removal Tool.
My tank level indicators are not reliable so as a rule i dump my grey and black tanks everytime i fill fresh water. That way i know they cant be holding more than i put in. 😊 Nice job on your tutorial. Love your videos!
Thank you so much! ☀️ I wander how accurate my tank level indicators are, but it gives me a good idea if anything 👍
@lifewithstephanie42 and I thought I was the only one up this early on a Sunday morning. Good morning, have a wonderful day!
Sunday work day lol ☀️ Good morning! ☀️You have a wonderful day as well!
A good informative video. I just bought my first travel trailer so I will be seeing how it goes. Keep up the good videos.
I will! Thank you 😊 Congrats on your trailer! ☀️
I do mine the same way, except my gloves are in the back storage on my 15tb lol. one thing I do before travel after I dump sometimes is get a bag of ice brake it up good, put it in the black tank through the toilet then poor a little warm water on the bigger chunks that didn’t fit through the hole to brake up the remaining bigger chunks. Heard it cleans the wall of the black tank from the movement from driving down the road. Then it melts there’s water already in it for use. Don’t know if really helps keep it clean, but makes me think it helps keep it clean😂
It makes sense it would work! Thank you for the great tip ☀️
Very good instructional videos Stephanie. Only because you asked, I will say that was about 12 to 20 teaspoons😆
😂 no way!
Wow very informative I'm definitely learning alot
Thanks again for a great video 👍👍🙏⛵️
I’m so glad it was helpful ☀️
You did a nice job on tank maintenance. I use the TST small bottles so I just dump one of the bottles each time I dump the tanks. My rig has a black tank wash down wand that I hook the hose to so I don't have to hall buckets inside. I did do that on my last rig. Nice job.
Yeah, a wand wound be nice 👍 Thank you for the feedback and information! ☀️
👍 Thanks
Hi Stephanie, Your video was FABULOUS and so very helpful as we are two seniors starting out on our RV journey! I couldn’t find your 1st Pro Enzyme treatment for black water tank on link. Can you share where you purchased that one? Many thanks!
Thank you so much! I found it at Walmart in the RV section. I don't see the exact one on amazon. But here's a link to another product from the same company. I think the drop in ones are easier to use amzn.to/3xU3Bcy
Good job Steph. You're learning good! I use their drop ins. Does that have a black tank flush so you don't have to go through those steps?
Thank you! No, it does not have a black tank flush. It would be nice if it did!
Thank you for this video. We are newbies and very intimidated by the black tank 😂.
@@angienadeau7616 I was too at first! but the more you do it, the less intimidating it all is ☀️
