  • In this follow up to our Rockwood Geo-Pro and Flagstaff E-Pro factory tour, I share my reaction to everything we took in. I also wanted to have a look at a completed trailer at a dealer. We're currently in South Florida, so we inspected a Geo-Pro G19QB at Tropical RV Sales in Fort Pierce, Florida. They were very nice people and allowed us to film the G19QB. If you are in the South Florida area, look them up! They sell a lot of Geo-Pro's and have great reviews!

    So if the Geo Pro and E Pro are the same trailers, is Rockwood and Flagstaff the same companies under Forest River like Ford and Mercury cars are the same cars but just a slightly different cosmetic trims. Both under the Ford Motor Company?

    Have really enjoyed your videos on the Geo-Pro factory tour and your thoughts on the G19QB. We just purchased the Goo-Pro G19FBS and absolutely love it. The G19FBS has a slideout with a couch. The slideout really expands the living area so you don't feel cramped. During the walk-through we had 5 people inside and it never felt 'crowded'.
    I appreciate your comments on the many features. All things that are hard to appreciate until you see for yourself. The one thing I wanted to add is that the trailer included the remote tire pressure monitor display for the towing vehicle, so it's ready to go right off the lot. The other thing I really like is that the Geo-Pro comes pre-wired for the Furiion backup camera system. The camera mount is already on the trailer waiting for the camera, pre-wired for plug and play installation. I have one on order and will update after the install.

    Great video! My wife and I looked at a used 2019 Epro 19FBS yesterday and I came away thoroughly impressed. I will start with my negatives, which are few. The kitchen sink is tiny. There was room to make it bigger, but I guess you would give up counter space. I also thought 413 pound tongue weight was pretty high. Some of my favorite things were the Azdel construction with all aluminum framing. The arched roof is awesome, water wont sit on the roof, the number one RV enemy. Black tank flush and tpms standard? Battery cut out standard? Wow. A dry bath in this size? Power tongue jack and two lp’s with a bike rack mount is unbelievable and this price and size rv. A ladder was something I would have to add on to most I’ve looked at. Our Gulfstream Visa had staples popping out everywhere on the interior walls. I think I found a great alternative to the Intech Sol and Little Guy Max I have been drooling over, but was choking over the pricing.

      Mike StClair 👋 hello! Thanks for your thoughtful comment! While looking at a 16BH the other day, my wife and I found another personal negative. It had the small fridge with the freezer in the top part of the fridge compartment. At around a square foot, the freezer is too small for us. We need the medium fridge with the separate freezer door. I think the medium fridges are on the 19s.
      You mentioned staples popping out... the only thing I have heard so far about in service issues are loosening nuts on the trailer frame. They are the ones which bolt the flooring to the frame and you can see them being installed on my factory tour vid. The nuts are working loose and even falling off. The problem is solved by installing self locking nylock nuts. I’ll be looking for this change to be made at the factory soon.

Mine didn’t and I have seen where others have said the same thing. We've been video shopping / researching for months now, looking at just about every RV trailer this size, and keep coming back to the Geo Pro / E Pro (same unit, different trims) again and again for size, weight, construction, features, quality, etc. We learned the hard way about water leaks, sealant and the result on a sticks and staples wrapped in a cola can RV construction failures. We purchase a 2019 Epro 19fd this summer and we love it. It's our first trailer and agreed many nice features, contruction techniques and the lighter color scheem are what sold us. Just a caution that build quality appears good on the surface, assembly quality in our experience has been spotty. For example, on our trip home from the dealer the two drawers fell appart because the rails were missing most of their screws. During the same trip one of the dinette seats broke loose from the floor, damaged the wall an broke one of the aluminium braces under the seat. A month later a screw finaly ate through the 120 cuircuit shorting it out and because the wires were run in the floor we had to cut the wire and run another one under the floor. I would still buy another one but would definetly spend more time on the inspecttion before signing any paperwork.

      Steven Bushey thanks for sharing your experience! Some manufacturers and dealers have come a long way to improving build quality and initial delivered quality. But, as you have experienced, more improvement needs to be done. I appreciate shedding light on manufacturing processes, both good and bad. While watching FreeBirds factory tour, the thing that had me concerned was the pace of the production line. I just kept thinking that, as fast as the workers were going, it was inevitable that mistakes and misses would happen. It's just not humanly possible to sustain the production pace I saw in that factory, and deliver consistent quality over an entire work shift. I applaud Forest River for their innovation and great standard features on these trailers, but real world experience, as witnessed by Steven Bushey and TPD, is the reality check that all is not perfection at Forest River.

    I've towed sailboats with galvanized leaf spring double axle trailers and found it to be super smooth. One of my sailboats displacement was 5500 lbs. (close to 7500lb. with trailer) and you would forget you were towing. I'm not sure about longevity for the camper and the trailer structure with the Dexter Torflex (which has been around for several years) They tend to shake the hell out of whats riding above it...and I wouldn't have faith in a single torsion axle...at least have a double axle...what weight is riding on that Torflex?..3200lb? I've seen them fail with less weight. Those cords are not dependable. That camper must be shaking apart.

      @CrowdFreeRV  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello 👋 Jerry!
      Yes, from both the factory tour and my experience owning & using our Geo Pro 20BHS, I feel the floor structure is solid enough. With that being said though, I wish they would go with a different material for additional water resistance.
      New wood replacement materials are beginning to be used in floor decking. Keystone RV has begun using a material called HyperDeck, which is stronger, lighter and more water resistant than wood material. I wish Rockwood would look at a material like that for their floor decking.
      For myself though, I feel the current Geo Pro deck is good. The main factor is to keep your rig leak free.
      Hope this helps Jerry!
