    Hi! Love the vids and thank you for all of the info. I'd have to diplomatically disagree on the part about cams. Stock 2JZ cams of all types (GE, GTE, VVTI, NON) can all carry you well past 400whp. I have stock cams/springs/valves in my GE VVTI, it made 555whp while auto, and around 600whp as manual.

    I don't know how reliable but It's pretty common to see an unopened gte get well over 500hp to the wheels.

      GTE will go even to 800 because of the forged internals. The “GE” is the non turbo version of the motor and did not come with forged internals therefore a lot weaker! A thicker head gasket will lower compression and allow to run more HP safer if you want.

    Do you have to use a 2jzgte headgasket if you want to go 2jzge NA-T? Just a cheap aftermarket turbo kit to push 300 is all I want.

    This is so helpful, I have the 2JZ GE non vvti, I want to turbo it, do you think I should convert to GTE vvti or just use what I have?

      U gotta use gte pistons and con rods minimum. And u need the exhaust manifold that can put in ur turbo. And also the head gasket too

      No, the non vvti has the same internals as the GTE. IF you get aftermarket internals I'd be interested in purchasing your 2jz's internals.

    For the 2JZ-GE, do you have a preferred forward facing intake manifold (FFIM) that you would recommend? They are all very expensive in North America. Thank you

    I am trying to turbo my 2001 Lexus GS300 2JZGE vvti but I want to start on low boost 5-6psi on stock internals,stock fuel pump, and stock injectors with a piggyback and run that for a year or so until I get another motor to build to GTE spec. slowly building upon what I have
    im curious how the stock ecu would react to a piggyback system because I heard the ECU will fight the piggyback changes but for what I need , a piggyback is minimum

      be careful of knocking since u are using ge pistons and gasket because of high compression and got some boost too

    May i know why you chose GTE pistons and rods?
    I've read that GE nonvvti pistons and rods are strong enough for 800hp.

      All gte rods can too. Ge non VVTi has the same part number with gte rods. But some ge VVTi has weaker rods. To avoid confusion I just say to use the gte rods :)

      both are reliable! 1jz stock internals can go up to around 500hp too.. differences there are a lot, CC, tune up, turbo response, overall they are all good =D

    Hello, I have a stock caldina st215 3sgte turbo charge engine that is running a bit over 200 hp but below 300hp. Can i put a bigger turbo on it without changing pistons, crank, cams etc.?

    Hey Michael, how possible is it to run a 2JZ GE non VVTi head on my VVTi block? I’ve looked a lot of forums but I haven’t come across any solid answers, and I’ll be running aftermarket coil, just not sure what brand or anything yet

      yes no problem =) u just need to use non vvti cams for ur non vvti head. there are a lot of people use honda k20 coils, and make a specific bracket for them, or there are a lot of aftermarket coils for 2jz out there =D

      the prices keep hiking, it is about RM30k plus ... excluding mounts, clutch, pump, pedals etc

      The only rods that are smaller are the VVTI GE rods.
      GE AND GTE NON VVTI are the same.

      Mr.Chung my apologies. I now realize I have been misinformed. I found that the R154 is only a manual transmission and my transmission is an A340... all these years an I has no clue. 2jzgte non vvti to A340 still works?

      Ge camshafts are no good for horsepower.. Only ge block. If u have the intake and exhaust manifold for the ge, then the ge cylinder head is good too

    Hey Michael, i have a 2jzge non vvti, that i plan on building as a na/t. I have CP Pistons, Eagle Rods, ARP head studs, still have to get hg, seal kit, cams, cam gears, exhuast manifold and a ffim. Im going to put it in my 91 mk3 supra and run it on my 7mgte harness and ecu until i can get a stand alone..do you have any suggestions?

      definitely need gte head gasket. cams is depends on ur target hp. cam gears choice is totally fine with either brand. exhaust manifold, best if u can find cnc type base, like the Tonnka Exhaust manifold . i got 2 vids about standalone ecu too =D

      @@christopherwilliams9328 oh I see.. The front facing intake manifold is from gte only. Or u can use aftermarket intake manifold. Yeah as long as the head gasket matches ur target horsepower. Because if u want high boost, u want lower compression by having thicker hg. Like the one i used original gte hg
