Guys I appreciate the concern about the piston size measurement. I tried editing that part of the video with a text over with the explanation but gave me video errors. The calculatordid not take the 0 into the measurement size. It shows 3.46 instead of 3.046. The result number still shows the same in the range that I am working on. Which is still 0.01730 instead of 0.17030. Thanks for looking out guys. I really appreciate the support 💪😬🔥
Alberto BIGBOOST what about con rod clearance?
Did you measure bearing clearances before you assembled the bottom end?
Alberto BIGBOOST there you go people!
Alberto, Curious why you got Away from M52 Block.. LMK
3.406 u mean. Did another typo in this response. but good you did it right!
the bore size is 3.406 but you did the calculation with 3.46 in the video. I dunno if it matters a lot
Youri Dv still ends up at .017 but good catch I saw that too!
saw it too
Came to say the same thing!
I saw it too....
I was trying to make a title over it but premiere kept giving me an error. The measurement is the same. 0.17030 instead of 0.1730
More knowledge about 2jz , can't get any better.. love this alberto
cant wait till this engine is fully built 🔥🔥🔥
And i can't wait for more rebuilding videos!
Soon I'll need to rebuild my CA18DET and I would like to build it myself with 0 experience 🤔😱
@@BossGarage measuring and preparing is the most important part. The assembly is pretty easy lol
@@Baksteen_Express idk, I never done or seen a engine rebuild before, just this vídeo of Alberto.
I need to know the lubrificants, how to torque the bolts, and many more.
My experience in the motor is only timing belt and water pump change, turbo change, engine out of the car, but I never opened an engine, so its a bit scary for me
@@BossGarage You should watch the car passion channel, his miata engine build is pretty detailed.
@@imnota thank you for the information!
what i like about alberto engine videos are that I already watch alberto, so it's much easier to watch and learn something, when you don't watch a channel and you're watching only for the education, sometimes it's kinda boring, but thank you!
the music at the end was magnificent !
This is how CZcams should be With explaining thing awesome job Alberto! Your a Huge inspiration I’ve been watching all you guys for 2 1/2+ years now crazy how far you and your team have came.
bro i dont know jack shit about building engines and you still manage to get me to watch the whole video idk why lol
Firstly, I just want to send greetings all the way from Johannesburg, South Africa. Then, secondly, this is a lot more informative that other videos I have watched. This is AWESOME Alberto, and thanks for making the effort to show the build in so much detail. Can't wait for more... DOUBLE THUMBS-UP!!!!
You are the man Alberto ! I’ve saved this video to help me when I have to pulled my engine and see why it’s dropped in pressure ! Thank you 👌👌
Dude, you are so chill and explain everything in understandable manner !
I really appreciate the videos from proven engine builders/mechanics
Great Job Alberto! Very detailed and you covered what a lot of people miss like thrust bearings etc. please keep just as much detail on the upcoming videos!
Very calming video to watch. You’re showing great patience and care, good luck with it all mate!
Thank you for this. I was going to pay someone to do it for me but i feel more confident now. Thank you for the detailed video.
Loved this video! Would love to see more detailed assembly videos.
Wow, looks super fresh, nice start to an awesome finish.
Ciao ...job awesome video ..you make it seem easy to mount an engine 😀💪
I dont own a vehicle with a JZ motor in it. probably never will. I still love this content.
Love ur videos man ...can I ask you to make a video on how to choose what compression ratio to choose on engine rebuilds
Alberto great video!!👍✌💪I like how you are showing every detail, not like alot of builders that jump of how's done!!! Keep it up
I wish there were builders like you on TV. When I was younger there were crap shows on Speed and FuelTV.
only the best content out here from big boost
Very informative & imo your best vid so far big boost! Way to go. Thanks
Can’t wait for the final results! 👏🏻
Awesome Alberto, you make it look simple
Would you consider making a video on your recommended engine overhauling tools and equipment? That would be super cool!
Awesome video!! Very detailed and up to subject, i love it!!!
Keep it up man! Love your work. It also shows us how to build great quality engines!
Mr big boost I am blessed to be able to watch this my mechanic school is canceled and this is very helpful for my learing
Spins as smooth as a baby! That's my new saying 😂.
I love when you do these! I also watched when you did this with the m5x/s5x hybrid build and it was dope! Thanks!
You can add fine paint pigment + oil mixure on the end of the socket so you can visually see the bolts that have been torqued. Same as paint pen marking bolts to see if the bolts have lossened/moved
1x of my Top 5 channels on CZcams period!
Great video man and very much informative! I encourage you to continue doing more DIY videos.
That tip of taping the ring compressor so on point.
Hi Alberto could you do a video covering how to messure clearances for bearings so u can decide weather u run std size bigger and so forth
jonny burns I can do one in another engine
So, you replace the main bolts for ARP main studs and you don`t line hone the mains or at least check the clearances on final assembly. Great Engine Build.
Great informative video always nice to watch them from you Alberto keep up your excellent work 👍
Awesome video dude, just subscribed to your channel, definitely the most detailed one I’ve seen so far !
this video made me want to build my jz now that going in my stang. going to follow the exact formula you did too so i know it works.
Kris Angus the krabby patty Formula
Alberto BIGBOOST does that make me Plankton trying to steal it lol 😅
Do mechanics keep a bottle of that red lube in their bedside drawers?
Bahaha
aussiesimmo I have a whole case
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST foreplay in a bottle.
Have a bottle in my toolbox at the shop, a bottle in the car, a bottle in my tool bag, a few bottles in the house, even a few in the shed
very good your video !!! I love 2jz
Wish i had a homie like Alberto. Nice build bro!
Someone needs to make a 2JZ pizza
For alberto
Yo this video was great! Thanks for putting this knowledge out to us man.
Damn this is giving me confidence to build my 2jz myself instead of just having the machine shop do it. Would save me a lot of money too on labor.
He skipped ally clearances were never gone over and are the first things to cause failure
@@mk2vrt yeah that’s the part I’m nervous about lol. I wish someone would make a detailed video showing that.
I'm in way over my head but this is just absolutely fascinating to watch!
Nice music and shots
Alberto BIGBOOST love watching the videos!!!! Hear in australia we have barra's !!The Australian 2JZ!!! Maybe you can do a video compering the two. Would love to hear what you think about the barra engine and how it compares to the 2JZ and the RB. Keep up the all-some work and stay safe..
The techangle torque wrench has a counter in the Rh top corner, so easy to double check and get that extra confidence
Went u have 1 month of free times to do video. Man i watched u since 2015 u didnt talk too much like this but i think i like it. U explain everything 😊
looking awsome alberto its gonna be a beast
You said 3.406 but typed 3.46 on the calculator.
It shouldn't change the .017 gap that he needs. But good catch
Stuff all difference
Great video you should definitely do more how to videos new subscriber feels good here 🖤❤️🥳
You entered 3.46 instead of 3.406, but it came out to about the same spec, .01703 is the actual spec
And yes the math still works on the ring gap, I too have a PH in maph, thanks for the great video Alberto.
You da man Alberto. Real automotive CZcams channel
your channel among others made me comfortable enough to buy my own 2J project. I'll come back when i make 500hp
Hows that project goin
@@penisenlargement2319 really good actually i have a fully built longblock and am sourcing a turbo
@@diabolowho good to hear that. Your definatly gonna hit 500hp especialy with that turbo
Esoooo Alberto!!!! Tan Bueno que eres explicando.
What about the rod bearing clearance and bolts stretch
what happended to messuring the bearing clearances? you'll be rebuilding soon, but atleast it gives you content
The crank literally came back from the machine shop and was measured to be within spec so bearing clearances are too.
I think he's built quite a few engines in his time especially 2jz's.
@@imnota one thing that threw me off was it came back from machine shop with factory main cap bolts installed then later shows caps with L19 or 625 studs. I was curious if he had it line bored/honed and was just using the factory bolts to hold the caps in or? Because that would definitely make a difference unless he got really lucky.
@@s302jzget well it wouldn't hold unless it was still threaded for factory no? Those others would never fit enough for someone not to notice
@@obxurv ARP studs thread right into the factory main cap bolt holes with no mods.
Thanks for the walkthrough, pizza was a top moment
I love these detailed videos
Very nice albertos
thank you ALBERTOO.... this is so detailed...
Thank you very helpful video 😍 👍🏻👍🏻
Can we make a petition to get Big Boost a Lil Ceasars sponsor to ensure he has all the engine building fuel he needs? Lol
Thank you Alberto.
I love this video already ,cause I want ot bild Is200 with 2JZ GTE too :)
It look and feel complicated and at the same actually easy
WELL DONE BERTO BOI ! M🌳
Im ready for the head assembly 😄
So beautiful... you’re an artist! 👍😎
This has to be one of the most concise and detailed engine assembly videos ever...well done!
Your the best thank you so much. Much help how do you know what order the pistons go
Keep making videos u deserve it
can you put the bottom thrust bering first and then put crankshaft in?
Bro I think you forget to mention or to do a 90 degrees for the crankshaft and the connecting rod thanks a lot bro fo the video keep it up and aoswom work 💪💪
Come on Alberto it's been two weeks we need more 2jz stuff😭
Fantastic good descripsion how to do it thanks.
Complete assemby next😍
I absolutely love how you make your videos of motor builds everything has such detail
Sooo arp main studs. Did you get the mains honed for this? I’m reason yes and no you don’t have too.
i didnt see you install the 2nd split ring into the end of the rod going through the piston but i did take my plate out to the kitchen
Down to earth keep it up❤️
Bravo Big Boost
Nice job!
Very nice Video Alberto 👍
You know what I love? "I love being a turtle ! 🎶"
Alberto BigBoost!! Not to be an ass but @ 9minutes in, you were figuring your piston ring gap and said 3.406(your piston diameter) but typed 3.46!!!
I THINK THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE... just hoping you caught the mistake!! Love the videos and I myself am currently rebuilding my engine and want to be on top of everything and checking and double checking everything!! Much Love brother!! Check that ring gap again!!1
I want to see more off the rx7
Alberto! Great video. Only thing I didn't see you do was debur the rings after you ground them down to size. Also you might want to lubricate the ring compressing tool as well since rings have to slide through it before sliding inside the cylinder walls. Very little things that go a long way but you got this thing on lock!! Pizza look good too! Lol
Hey Larry, yes that is a good thing to do. I hand file the edge of the ring after cutting. And I also use atf to clean and lubricate the rings before assembly. Some stuff I dont cover on camera all the builds. Ring compressor tool I just spray with some wd40 💪 I’m glad you are looking out. There are times where I have missed things and only notice from the comments before its too late 😬
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯👍🏼
Hey Alberto do you have to measure the clearance on the bearings or do they come ready ?
The lubrication oil holes on the crankshaft journals doesn't seen to be chamfered like Pro Engine Builders do. By the way Alberto , do you know why it's recommended to increase piston rings gap in function of the engine potential output?
Great video 👌🏼
Awesome
Your awesome Boost I might have you build my BMW engine
Nice video albertooo 💪
How come you didn’t check the clearances between the bearings and the crank?
He may have had the id of the bore and od of the crank from the machine shop and knew what bearings to use. I think I'd still plastigauge. Unless you have the fancy tools.
