I have an Eazy Pod on my QT and I have emptied it a few times and never had a build up of muck like this, and I have fed an absolute tonne of food up till November. Ideally i need the i think older Eazy part for the 210 as its on legs and keeps the K1 off the muck allowing it to all flush to waste. A larger waste hole would have been better as well! I havent had any bacterial issues luckily though but if i hadnt checked it it would still be there! Also if the K1 could be removed easier would help!! LOL
Hi Andrew, I have four eazy pods on my tanks and they also give me problems, K1 often finds its way into the pond return and if you don't notice it like I didn't it can block and kill your pump ! also has the issue of a huge build up at the bottom and no amount of air or flushing moves it, I have to use a piece of tube to stir it up then there's the issue of the pump feed in that stops the crud from flushing out properly so you need to hose it out! all in all very poor. I now use a Trojan 2, pump fed tower with built in vortex and 200 micron sieve, way better but very tall
i never seen anybody clean the nexus like this surely you will kill the bacteria the nexus is practically self cleaning i think you are mad cleaning it like that
I only empty the bio side once per year to check any build up of crud. The middle Eazy section I empty once a month as there is always a build up of muck which could go bad and cause major bacterial issues.
