Ric Bucher joins First Things First to discuss how big of a deal it would be for LeBron to miss the playoffs this season.

    First: Ric Bucher’s take was pretty bad. However, I gotta take an issue with Nick’s comparison of Steph and LeBron. The Warriors were 39-33 last year, while the Lakers are 31-43 right now. The play-in is benefitting the Lakers right now, while it hurt the Warriors last year. Not a fair comparison imo

    And the fact that he says no one kills Lebron for dragging bad teams is just absolutely wrong, you can pull up 100000000000 videos of “credible” basketball people like himself killing Lebron for it

    • @Ttcw89
      @Ttcw89 Před 2 lety +1

      Bro what are you talking about? Lmao these comments on this video are absurd. You need better listening and comprehension skills. Ric is saying that Miami, which by the way has several different players than they did, aren’t they same team they were in the Bubble. Beating up on Milwaukee and making it to the Finals and winning 2 games vs Lakers without 2 of their top 3 players who were out 3 of the games (Dragic/Bam). Miami is a regular season team. They got owned by Bucks. They got #1 seed this season but look at the rut they’re in rn as we speak. Losing to trash teams or team without all their stars. The Bubble was an easier environment to win it. PERIOD. It was not the same for everyone. It put certain players who were mentally weaker in a very tough spot. Under normal circumstances you don’t have to choose to stay away from your own family for months at a time. Like PG was in a ‘Dark Spot’ mentally. Players like Lou Williams never even went to the bubble to help Clippers. It was not the same. Yes Lakers still get the chip, they won it. But I will always have some sorta asterisk *** on it because it just was different man

      @@Ttcw89 lmaooo bro you need better listening comprehension. He was not saying that AT ALL go back and listen to what he actually said before you hop in the comments. He downplayed and basically insinuated that it was a fluke that the Heat made the finals. Also, I love that you say the bubble was an easier environment, when LITERALLY every player there disagrees. And yes, they hit a rut and are now back on track. Every team hits a rut during the season, doesn’t change the fact that they’ve proven all year to be a contending team. The only reason people put an asterisk on that Championship is to downplay the lakers chip or they literally just have no idea about what they’re talking about, so which do you fall into? 🤣

      I think to the last point it’s simple. How many year 19 players are even in a position to be able to will their team into the playoffs? How many are even top players in the league? How many year 19 players have willed a terrible team outmatched through the playoffs to win the finals. Even Lebron in 2018 couldn’t do that. So if he did that year 19 it would break the mold historically. There is precedent of aging stars on bad teams missing the playoffs (Kobe and Dwayne Wade ring a bell? Even Jordan. 5 Luka
      6 Tatum
      7 Kawhi
      8 Curry
      9 KAT
      10 Booker
      ...and then there are some who MIGHT have a case:
      Ja Morant (cannot control the game as well as LeBron, but more efficient offensively and a better defender)
      Paul George (primarily plays on both sides of the ball, may not be a better scorer but far better defender)
      Chris Paul (more efficient and better at ball management)
      Rudy Gobert (his offense sucks, but his rebounding and defense help win games)
      AD (not reliable or as available as LeBron, but still a better player on the floor, both offensively and defensively)
