How to Install ProTaper Handlebars on a KLX140

In this video I install ProTaper SE 7/8" handlebars on my 2020 KLX140G.
Bend: CR Mid
Midway through the video, I show the ProTaper side by side with the original bars so you can get a good visual of how the ProTaper bend is different.

Are these the same/close to the stock bars? Wanting to upgrade from the stock mainly just for the black color.

Not really, they sit lower so you will have a more forward racey posture. Better for aggressive riding but not so good for long comfortable trail rides.

@@gohobby9934 would the cr-high bend make the bars more comfortable all around (more similar to stock)?

What did you do about the plastic tab for the electric start that fits in the hole on the stock handlebars?

I used small black Zip-Ties. I looped one around the bar and then threaded a second one through the loop, around the wire, and zipped it closed.

@@gohobby9934 interesting. I ended up returning the aftermarket bars because I couldn’t get the housing to sit flush against the bars. With the screws only being on one side the other side flexed open and I was concerned about moisture and dirt getting in there. It would be great to see a close up of how you did it.

I had to file the tab down a little bit to get the ignition switch to mount flush
