  • At Makers Central earlier this year Simon Harman @sidon100uk on Instagram gifted me his old 3d printer that he had been having difficulties with.
With this generous gift and the generous help of Andy Peckham @nomastercreations on Instagram & CZcams: / @nomastercreations and the amazing expertise of Jamie Reader @thecustomcave on Instagram I have managed to get the machine working.
The maker community is just an awesome place.
With their patient and ever-present virtual assistance I intend, over the next few months and years, to descend into the rabbit hole that is 3d printing.
Now, if you are concerned that this will be the only thing I video going forward, fear not, I still intend to explore the rabbit warren that is making. I do want, however, to catalogue the process and keep a record of my learning. This will give me something to look back at and hopefully it will give other people another source of help when they are exploring their own 3d printing rabbit hole.
If you carefully at the thumbnail you will notice that I did manage to successfully print the calibration cube. This is the link to it on Thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:288...

I think I saw somewhere where that set up a camera to take a picture every time a new layer was added so when you put all the pictures together and play them back it looks like the 3d printing is just growing upwards. It looks cool.

I've never really watched 3D printing. Maybe you can print yourself a CZcams play button for your upcoming 1,000 subscriber milestone.

Just got a 3D printer for my classroom this year and am only just learning how to get things from it. I'll be watching with interest as your journey progresses.
