  • In this video I show you how to change the filters in a Dyson DC14 Animal vacuum cleaner. The same principle apply to many of the Dyson upright cleaners although I believe some of the newer models are a lot easier.
    I would recommend that you make this a regular part of your maintenance of your cleaner as leaving too long, as I did, severely reduces the effectiveness of the cleaner.
    You might also want to check out the first video in this series in which I clean compacted hair from the beater bar.
    If you have any questions, pop them in the comments and I will try to answer them. I do try to answer all comments.

    Very nicely done. You brought back memories of fun/nightmares. Working on computers try to put open a unit without snapping a part is definitely challenging at times! LOL. It also appears you and I had the same instructor/teacher growing up. "Take care of your tools and they will take care of you!"

      Cool! I saved a couple of cleaners in the past that others were going to throw.

    Yes, you’re correct Andy. The bottom HEPA filter is way easier to replace in the DC25 that I have. The upper filter, much the same. Good video.

    Finally someone posted where those 2 "C" gaskets go! One question: Does it matter wheather the adheasive side is up or down??

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 16 dny +1

      I don't think it matters but I have found putting them in as shown works well. It also matches what I found the first time I opened our Dyson.

    Great Video, I'm sure this will save a lot of folks from having to pay for an expensive service. We have one of the new battery models and it wouldn't charge, Dyson charged me £120 for the battery and I had to fit it myself.

      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 4 lety +1

      I wonder how much they would have charged to fit it?

    Why not change the other third disc filter on the lower right of the machine or is that only the DC14 Animal that has that?

    Very important video. Many Dysons burn out due to this reason. Can you do a motor change soon?

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 4 lety +1

      Very true. I haven't planned a motor change but maybe at some point I'll have a look at dismantling the old DC04 I have down in my shed.

    Don't need to go through all that Octopus screwdriver Hoopla on that HEPA filter cover..
    Just pop the front lock up then work the side locks one at a time from under the cover lifting while your prying the cover away.

    Hello, could you do a video of how to change a motor on a dc04 or dc14

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  Před 4 lety

      Possibly one day if it needs doing. I tend to make my videos based on what I need to make, do or repair.

    Clicked on this video, my son said "is that the guy that made the wand, and put a feather in it? What's his name, Andy Pugh, right?".
