  • After 23 days of offshore sailing we are very ready to arrive. But we need to arrive in daylight to anchor safely which means pushing Florence to sail fast on this last leg of our voyage to Seychelles. Our tiredness brings out the emotion of the moment as we close in on land after sailing 3044 miles non-stop across the Indian Ocean.
We have been sailing around the world for over 5 years after setting off from England in 2016 on board our 37ft sail boat Florence. Join us as we share the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat, Sailing offshore across the Oceans and exploring remote locations with our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid.

Amy, I love that you have a little bow in your hair; it’s so prissy/girly. I love that you two can laugh at Matt’s efforts in the galley. Laughter is, indeed, the best medicine when bone weary…as is good rest, heh, heh. The ability to laser focus on the good, rather than the bad doesn’t hurt. “LAND HO”!!! How excited you sounded. Amy sounded giddy when she talked with you (even being very tired) after seeing the land. You two are prime examples of how we should behave. We love you for that. Thank you for sharing your lives. Hiya guys. What more can anyone say apart from WELL DONE👍👍👍 Yet another ocean in the log. 3 down with 2 to go.This is what sailing is all about. Dump those engines and rig the sails and fly. You’ve got a real lady with Florence. Taking care of her really pays dividends. She sails well and looks good. Long may she carry both towards your horizons together. Fair winds and following seas my friends.

I've been following your channel for quite some time and your crossing of the Indian Ocean was epic! After 23.5 days at sea you were really elated at making landfall and your video conveys your joy quite clearly. Looking forward to your exploration of the Seychelles and hope you have been getting some well-deserved rest in a calm tropical harbor. So many CZcams sailing channels are mostly exercises in hedonism , focusing partying in tropical paradise. While there is a time for that, you are such accomplished sailors and with your natural curiosity of the places you have visited you have created a masterful story and adventure for us armchair travelers. Kind regards from Wisconsin, USA.

We all focus on defining moments and 'words of wisdom' that exemplify the markers of lifetime memories, and I took special note of Amy's line about how long passage, two handed sailing is actually as demanding and solitary as two people simply doing single handed. For lesser sailors, one quickly begins feeling that this is not what you signed up for, it is truly grueling. Hats off to the both of you.

Matt and Amy, congratulations on your successful crossing. I can see you're both very proud of it and rightly so. Matt's pasta cooking in rough seas and it's inherent danger of scalds from upset boiling water, which could be horrendous at sea miles from nowhere, reminded me of a similar incident on another sailing Chanel. A USA cooking show host saw it and prepared a video for them. A safe way to cook pasta, no boiling water. They took a large piece of tin foil folded it 2/3 times and made a pouch by rolling over and folding down tightly 2 sides. They then put in the ingredients along with the dry pasta and then the water. They folded the last side tightly and put the pouches in a tray in the oven at 360 for about half an hour. The results looked great. relatively easy and very safe. You never know, you just might fancy pasta in a gale one day and will have no worries with cooking.

A tiresome couple of sailors have just arrived to the capital of the Seychelles, onboard of an ocean worthy yacht Florence.
It was the passage of over 3,000 miles lasting 23.5 days across the Indian Ocean; from the island of the Indonesian Archipelago to the Seychelles.
Congratulations Matt and Amy! To be honest, I hoped to see you walking in the Victoria capital along the streets of the city. 14 days to wait for the next episode is too long to wait for news. Well, nothing can be done about it.
