- Sailing the final leg of our 4th major Ocean crossing we have one last challenge, to cross the uncertain weather of the doldrums. Light and fluky winds find us drifting towards the finishing post, but a friendly dolphin escort keeps our spirits up.
We have been sailing around the world for 6 years after setting off from England in 2016 on board our 37ft sail boat Florence. Join us as we share the highs, lows, and challenges of travelling around the world by boat, Sailing offshore across the Oceans and exploring remote locations with our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid.

You two rock! Not many accomplish this. You are elite sailors. Thanks for the video. Fair winds and following seas. Sail On!
So happy you made it safely without any major incidents. Extraordinary journey.
Guys I've watched your channel from the beginning. I'm approaching 70 yrs young and Proud of you both. I say this now because I worry that when you complete your journey you will disappear. For me. I thank you for every ep you have produced. Love you both.
Thanks Earl, don't worry we are not disappearing any time soon, we won't be back in England until September next year and we have plans to do some more sailing after that.
Awesome. Back in my day there was now tech to make things safer. I have my own story about that.
actually enjoying trimming a spinnaker all day - something that would try the patience of a saint - all those years easing a boat up though the pack in light and shifting airs are paying off!
just love your commitment to sailing and the sea - as well as the beautiful shots, and pleasure of seeing your journey unfold.
Once a dinghy sailor, always a dinghy sailor ;-)
Congratulations on another successful crossing. This has become my favorite sailing channel. Thank you for all the effort you put into making this a first class production.
One of the things that make this channel so interesting is that you take the route less travelled, and this episode is a great example, anchoring next to Devil's Island the site of the Papillon story !! can't wait to see the account of your visit there.
The documentation of your adventures is absolutely brilliant! Great story telling and beautiful pictures. Absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing. Fair winds, following seas and many adventures to come.
Another great episode....you make crossing oceans look like child's play, congratulations on being an inspiration to other's.
Thanks Graham, The South Atlantic was kind to us, it is not always so straight forward. We still remember breaking the boom in half on our first Atlantic Crossing!
Well done.
Absolutely outstanding cinematography and such interesting content. Mixed emotions as I know you will soon be back in blighty and safe, but will have to wait for whatever you two decide to do next.
There is a way to go until England yet... ETA UK September 2023
I'm taking notes because I'm doing this passage in a few months time, exact route except from Port Owen and skipping Namibia, great videos👍👍
Enjoyed the episode and your great narration! Thanks.
What an interesting choice of beer. Great to see you enjoy ou local brew.
OMG, what a fantastic voyage !!! Amy and Matt you fill our souls with love on every episode. Best wishes for the continuation of your fantastic journey around our planet ❤💙❗😎
We stopped at Devils Islands back in the 80s, absolutely fascinating Islands.
Love to hear Amy laugh with the dolphins
Your imagery continues to set a new bar…….amazing…..looking forward to see your version of the Isles de Salut! Thanks….Andrew
I love watching you guys sail. Thank you
Congratulations for completing another milestone. Your sailing skills and experience certainly make ocean crossings look easy, so I'm sure you're showing us the best of the best. Glad to see the dolphins were there to congratulate your arrival too.
Hi Matt and Amy, you finally made it to the mainland of South America, Congrats!. Beautiful video, thanks for the footages,. Yes, like you mentioned be aware of mosquitos, try to use a mosquito repellent, that would be very helpful, a bite from one of those fellows could very well be the cause of getting the dengue fever. I wish you the best during your stay in that area, hugs, rgs 🌎⛵😎
Mosquitoes are always a problem when anchored in fresh water but hadn't appreciated how much more Denge has become a problem in recent years.
Safely across the Doldrums! Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Glad to see you had a safe passage.
Fantastic video guys - definitely one of your best! While you have always been great sailors, it's amazing how skilled you have become with the camera and editing - having followed you since the Bay of Biscay your videos have just gotten better and better. Boy, we are going to miss you when your circumnavigation is complete (that is unless you immediately turn around and do it all again). N'joy!
“Red right return”, channel marker saying for this side of the drink 😉
Amazing achievement fantastic video.
Super sweet ride up to French Guiana. Love catching your insights and a sense of being on your shoulder feeling the changes, feeling the movement of the sea and wind. So happy for you to reach another milestone moving ever closer to home. Looking forward to catching your adventure on land. Cheers 🥂 once again.
Hi to you both,I really love your globe trotting sailing travels and adventures, and always look forward to the next episode.I understand that dolphins use the pressure waves in front of whales to ease the strain and reduce energy requirements on their journeys.Thank you for taking me along on true blue water sailing.Roly 🇬🇧
Congratulations on keeping your yacht Bristol. It looks as good as it did when you started your journey. Are you going to spend some time in Florida on your way through ?
Unfortunately coming into the US with a private yacht is complicated and expensive (visas and insurance), so we are steering clear of all US territory.
Wow, I’m the first person in the world to view the video. Lol. Thanks for another good video.
So well done you two
Thanks for including maps when you're talking about where you are. 🙂 And thanks for another great video. You guys are amazing in your accomplishments!
Welcome guys greetings Froom colombia south america,
When I sailed across the Amazon entrance the water defiantly changed colour and that gave an awesome perspective on how wide the entrance is as it took days. Another great video, thank you.
Once again a fantastic video
Great video, thank you, looking forward to your exploration of French Geyana.
Isle de salut, isles of salvation, from papilon fame...
i was wondering if this was the prison that was closed down after Papillon escaped… Cool scenery knowing the past of this prison camp…
When your complete your journey I’m going back to the beginning to watch them all again 💝
Brings it all back to me, 1985, and calling at Cayenne, the old wooden buildings trying their best to resist the jungle rot and termites, the fast flow of tide in the river, paddling the dinghy with palm frond paddles, our boat dragging away on the ebb and being rescued by a Basque family on a neighbouring boat. Walking around Isle Royale and feeling the bad vibe of it's dark history and passing on a visit to Devil's Island as that would have been worse. Courou, rocket ready to go, it's technical presence incongruous in the wild setting.
Wow... just wow! Epic
Tyvm n fair winds
Great video, thanks!
Wow, so peaceful.
All inspiring!
Always top notch !
Wonderful episode! I’m a huge fan of space exploration and history, so I can’t wait for the next one! This episode was also great, and the contrast between now and when I first got here (During the final part of South Africa into Namibia) is breathtaking.
Fair winds and see you in two weeks,
-J
You guys make me want to put my (Rolly Tasker) sails up and go.
Well done stay save ❤❤
Fantastic. Well done guys. 👏 Another wonderful video. X
I always know it's a great video by how jealous I feel. Your achievements in both cinematography and sailing are epic as well as being natural storytellers. Enjoy yourselves and we look forward to your next one.
🌅👍
Well done both ...a great crossing...can't wait for the next episode ...As Liverpool x
Awesome episode
A Grade vid as per the norm. Been following you intrepid adventures for years and I don't wont these vids to end. You're getting too close to your home. Heheh
I was so inspired by this that I had to go out in the rain & stomp in a mud puddle.
I could look at clouds all day when at sea, they are more beautiful I think. What to do in the doldrums, I suppose mucking about with anything would be entertaining and better than going mad. Cheers.
Patients, be strong! You have come so far.
Just wonderful...Fine movie, such a great vibe and wonderful "touch" - You're fabulous, guys, not just for blessing this old git with a welcome escape after a rough day or two this end xx🤗🤗
Yaaaaaay! Another ocean down. Well done.
Well done you two, another wonderful episode. Thank you, enjoy.
What an extraordinary journey its been across the South Atlantic. Its a passage not commonly done so a real adventure! Supurb music in this video. I enjoyed every aspect of it! Be safe and enjoy South America!

It has been a long time and many nm since you left Richards Bay and later Hout Bay in South Africa. Well done!! I will be following you for the rest of your journey. Take care.
Wel done both of you ,love watching your progress.
Thank you both
Great video.
Cheers
You've replace your ensign ,nice 👍
What an incredible crossing. Such a joy to watch. You would have to be so stoked.
My favorite sailing channel
Beautiful video. It doesn't come any better than that
The video story of your journey has been amazing, I'm looking forward to the book when you finally arrive back in England. 😀

Incredible. Keep them coming.
Great video thank you safe travels
Congrats!! Please take your time as we don't want these epic vids to stop!
I've been watching your videos for a long time. Very enjoyable and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Congratulations on a successful crossing it made very good content
Looking forward to hearing what repairs and maintenance you have to do to Florence after so many sea miles.
Just wonderful, thank you for sharing.
You guys are awesome! Thank you for sharing
Again i am impressed by your video and story telling, thank you very much. By the way , have a thin dynema or else line as spinakersheet in light airs, it helps the spinnaker stay full.
FABULOUS !!
Beautifull episode as always!
Wonderfully Epic.
I’d let the birds rest, too. ❤
Brilliant vlog again!
Beautiful
Correction - apparently a bridge now crosses from Brasil into Guyanne.
This has been opened since my return, so for that reason I still assumed you had to take the ferry.
Yeah
,
Great achievement. The new duster looks great, and is your depth gauge from waterline, transponder or keel. I presume you’re on. 5’9”/1.75 keel? Good thought about silt in the water causing false reflections, but not what you want to see as you approach high water 😮
Thanks
Thx
Voilá - vous êtes arrivés.
We'll done.
That's a place I'd like to go.
It's a long haul from Brasil on the bus, even from Belleek
even from Belem because the Amazon splits into more than one huge estuary and each one requires a ferry across.
Finally there's a small river at the Guyanne border, but which also requires a ferry.
I'm intrigued to see your next posting as you explore the hinterland.
Bon voyage.!
Wow Sailor 👍
Amiee could you write a cooking at sea book ? as all your recipes look delicious and appetising if you do a cooking book earmark me a copy , thank you 😊
What a beautiful voyage, what is vessel type and length? Fair Winds
It's 37 feet. Oyster Heritage 37. Theres a full tour video link in the Channel home tab expanded description.
Lovely people.
Thanks Folks
