- Katelyn Tuohy is perhaps the greatest #highschooltrackandfield #distancerunning athlete in the modern era. But Sadie Engelhardt broke her #1600m national record at the Mt. Sac Invitational and again at the Hoka Festival of Miles just a few weeks later!

I make it "This Far" into every one of your videos LOL
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it!
Me too man. Love Coach Rob's content and delivery.
That’s cool. I won’t need to but any new shirts when she goes to NC State.

2:03 Parker’s thumbs up 😀
I have mixed feelings about the festival of Miles. These are great athletes, there is no taking away from their abilities and achievements. As far as winning the race, all the athletes ran under the same conditions, it was an awesome event.
Where I have mixed feelings is they used pacers, for the start. As you know I am a Drew Griffith fan, who ran a 3.57 mile at the Festival of Miles with a pacer. In 2022 Gary Martin from PA broke sub 3.57.98 without any pacer without any competition pushing him. You almost can’t compare the achievements both which were great but both under different circumstances.
Elizabeth Leachman is amazing but also, keep an eye on 14 year old Gianna Rahmer from Albuquerque.
I’m trying to walk onto the uconn track team and I run a 3200 in 9:46, do you think this is possible or do I need to drop some more time first
It might be challenging to walk on at UConn. But that is fast enough for many college teams, even in D1. To get more help you can actually contact me through my site www.SCArecruiting.com
Parker Valby destroyed Katelyn Tuohy at the 2024 Olympic Trials. Valby beat Tuohy twice in the heats and in the finals. Valby is over 40 seconds faster than Tuohy in the 5000m race. Valby is stronger and faster than Tuohy.
I think her being there is fine, they should just put an asterisk next to every record she gets while she’s in high school racing professional races, the same way they had an asterisk next to the old women’s marathon world record that was run in a race with men. Watch her mile record and then Elizabeth Leachmans 5k record and you’ll see what I mean. She should have to actually win the race to get a record, you can’t just get paced. Excited to see her at state though. And it dosent matter what she does because leachman is a sophomore and will probably break all of Sadie’s records anyway. If Sadie is Tuohy, Leachman is Valby.
(I’m just coping because I’m faster then Zealands time but not hers)
Interesting thought. There's no doubt that running with the fast ones helps you go faster. For example, last year Katelyn set records in the indoor 1500, mile and 3000 and the outdoor 5000. Every one was against mostly pros. On the other hand, her 8:35 3000 may be the record that survives for a while. When Parker dragged herself across in 8:41 for the second fastest collegiate 3000 ever, she was still six seconds behind Tuohy.
Anyone still remembers Mary Cain?
Intersting angle, plus, comfort food to those of us suffering persistent Tuohy Withdrawal Syndrome. It would be nice to hear something substantive about KT's plans. Let'sRun has a thread about the likelihood of Katelyn makng the Olympic trials in the 5000. Today somebody posted a list of who is entered with her on it, yet a few days earlier there was a link to a T&F News article assigning her the same status as Coburn and Monson, in other words, out. I don't think she would attempt her pro debut without some lightning fast trials the past few months. She posted some pics on Instagram last week where she looks extremely lean and more ripped than ever. [Edit} I just checked USATF trials page and she is on the 5000 list at the bottom with no status.
Yessss!!! I’ve been waiting to hear ANYTHING about her racing, so if she’s truly running the 5,000 I will be so happy. I’ve just been waiting to hear about it, but I also saw her Instagram post about her being absolutely ripped and I’ve just been patiently waiting to hear about if she is racing anytime soon so thank you for saying this. I’m so excited to see her race

@@TimMarshall-er9qk where do I find where it says she’s declared??
@@jessa813 List starts with Elle St. Pierre and Katelyn is approx half way down.
Coach Rob, NC State has a long history of success in women’s XC and track - starting with Julie Shea.
Mary Shea? Forty years after setting it, Mary still holds the high school girls' 10000 record. I believe Mary is a religious (nun).
@@Philobiblion Julie is her older sister.
Elizabeth Leachman may be even a more impressive prospect than Sadie. Time will tell.
Yep. She is a machine. She will be going after Valby's times
@@Bigern2998while still in high school she may break some of them she's amazing but if she over does it injury awaits if coaches well she will challenge the Africans in about 5 years.
@@Tigerex966 exactly. She is so determined. Fun to watch
Parker Valby is the best distance runner. No one has a chance to catch Valby. Valby is too fast for everyone.
Katelyn will make her appearance, mark my word. She is taking the quiet route, but I think she’s coming back better than ever.
LOL
