the GOAT for me, and I am a big Messi fan
SAME
You are a lying ronaldo fan there in a mask, shuut up
Definitely when it comes to natural ability on the ball
The ball will forever miss her greatest love: Maradona. D10S
As an England fan I'm old enough to Remeber the 86 world cup.
He didn't just tear England apart look at the Belgium game he did the same.
He was the best ever
RIP Genius
Deago Maradona the all-time king of football.🙏
Soccer genius of all the time ,the ultimate Diego Armando Maradona.
The most gifted individual to ever kick a ball.
Beyond statistics and awards, *Maradona could do things that no one else has ever been able to replicate.* For achievements Messi is the greatest player of all time. but for talent, magic, mystique, passion, technique, skill, leadership.. Maradona is the greatest player to ever kick a football. He did the impossible
Best way to put it I love it
It was not impossible. He could do it and did so, often!!
I began watching footbal once I watched D1OS debut for Napoli back in 1984 and no other football player has thrilled me the way he did. I stopped watching football when he hang up his boots. In the words of French football legend Michel Platini, " Ce que Zidane fait avec un ballon, Maradona le faisait avec une orange"
He still lost his debut 3/1 to Verona though 😉
They don't get how good he was. They really don't. No one on earth compares.
@@freyoleitfusCame to a team 1 point from relegation. They clicked from that season end. Then 3rd to 1st. No one never did what Diego did for Napoli
Diego took a bang average Napoli to the serie a title. He took an average Argentina to the World Cup final 2 in a row, winning one. Remember when messi or cr7 did that? Neither do I
Messi carried a subpar Argentina team to 2 finals as well. CR7 is nowhere near these two.
@@manan612Messi never carried. Diego too didn't carry team in 90. 86 was the greatest performance ever in history. 14,22 Messi was good but saying carried, is overhyping .Diego came with injury in 90 then got injured again and fouled 50 times . He had his moments of brilliance but he didnt carry. Diego took Napoli from almost relegation to title.
Maradona have the greatest left foot ever his left foot his like the hand of a skillful basketball player
The best-ever period
Simply The left feet of God
Forget Messi and Ronaldo....they dont even come close to Diego!
MARADONA THE BEST OF ALL TIMES
D10S
Some arguments for Diego as the GOAT had been explained in the video. Compared to recent years: pitches were terrible and the laws of the game were more permissive with fouls.
I add that he always have average teammates, no one close to the GOAT debate.
As for Pele, I think he did have great players in his teams. Example: Whenever Pele played with Garrincha (32 matches), they got 2.75 PPG (points per game) insane!
Well, not just most permissive.
Defenders could actually mark back then.
Words cannot express DIEGO MARADONA and the power of the talent and charismatic play on and off the pitch that he had. A hero of gigantic magnitude……💜💜💜🌋
Maradona the greatest player ever! Messi is brilliant but still stands just below him!
Not anymore.
@@alexisfrias208able Maradona is in another league. Messi is great but Maradona is different.
@@alexisfrias208ableMaradona was loved by everyone. Messi isnt... greatest Nr 10 of all time!
@@jamestabi2032 Messi is better, as a Goalscorer. They’re equal at everything else
@@manan612 keep telling yourself that. Sad when I don't even have to ask if you saw Diego. I mean I literally don't even have to ask. Ask yourself why that could be.
when you say football you think to maradona, not to pele or messi....maradona is football and football is maradona
Messi 🐐
If football is a religion then Diego is the Pope.
Diego is the God, not the Pope
You don't know religion if you think Maradona would be the Pope 😂
@@budin9489, you are correct if I thought your way. My point was God created football and Diego is the best specimen of football-the best human Pope!
@@rc.... as I just said, you are correct if I thought your way. My point was God created football, and Diego is the best specimen of football-the best human Pope!

86 world cup, the highest level a player has ever achieved and yep that includes Messi
The highest player the WC will ever see, by galaxies.
Messi and maradona ARE THE GOATS
Once in a generation player
Maradona was the best with the ball!
The greatest ever, there is no argument. Bring your Messi bring your Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona is better than both of them combined.
Don't let your feelings make the decision on who's better, messi is maradona everyday and even maradona wasn't maradona everyday
@@Eduard947Messi was never ever Diego any single day. Not even a day. Messi dissapear in big games with average team or when team is not that strong. Diego did it with almost relegated and weak teams,in defensive friendly era, rough pitches and killing tackles.
@@user-bi5nw4vp6t if messi always disappears in big games, can you tell me why he has the most goals, assists, chances created and dribbles in the finals and with all that the most trophies ? for me, maradona is the 2nd place when it comes to football ability, he is close to messi
.I don't want to keep arguing with someone who said that Messi was not Maradona even for a day, that is absolutely delusional.
@@Eduard947 "Messi dissappear with average team"... Note that point. 6 Copa finals , UCL humiliations?? Now explain how he can be compared ...Diego took almost relegated Napoli ...to cups. The best ever footballer. No comparison.
@@user-bi5nw4vp6t first of all "ucl humiliations" when you mention ucl you should know that Maradona has never played a final, let alone won one, while messi has won 4 ucls, second of all messi has better stats than maradona from all points of view, third of all, messi won 8 ballon d'ors and i know that back then a south american player couldn't win the ballon d'or but even still france football reviewed this stuff and maradona should have been awarded 2 ballon d'ors, still not even close to messi, also messi has 6 golden boots and even in WC messi has more goals and assists than maradona and also x2 player of the tournament while diego has only one, in evey single metric messi is above maradona stop deceiving yourself, it's not that hard.
I'm 55 year old spaniard, canarian, I saw him live in Tenerife while his time in Sevilla '92, already in his 30s but still full of magic.
I first knew of him when he came with Argentina to play the Spain '82 world cup, everybody was talking about this new sensation, and that autumn he came to play in Barcelona F.C.
In that world cup we still had Zico and Rummenige, Platini and Socrates playing, but man!! Diego was something else.
The moment you saw him barely touching the ball, the first second you realized he was an absolute master, that impact happened to me also with a lesser degree with Ronaldo Nazario years later, Redondo, Zidane, Pirlo, Gascoigne, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Messi and many others.
The thing is, I've seen Maradona in the 80s make moves and artistic things with the ball, specially his control of the ball in the air, between his legs, shoulders and head, while dribbling very aggresive opponents, that I've never seen those replicated before and after him. His technique was like Jimy Hendrix in the guitar, Mozart in Music composition, unparalleled.
Only Pele and Maradona stand at the top of the summit, and I think Maradona was superior.
the goat of the goats
Legend ❤❤❤Maradona ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
any player who gets smuggled into Pablo Escobar's mansion to play football....is a legend haha
Deci cam asa stau lucrurile.
Alejandro Moreno LOL. Come on dude.
Cr7 has all of those that Zidane was talking about lol. Someone will compare cr7 with Maradona lol not even close
cristiano is a good player and nothing more.
He was able to manipulate the ball a bit like messi now this clown just said. A bit like messi now. Wow now ive heard it all. If messi played on those fields with those butchers he wouldnt score once. And to all those young kids not messing not anyone can manipulate the ball like maradona. Im sorry fir your loss if sight
I'm 50 so luckily seen most Greatest players, For natural ability you can't better ..- George Best Maradona & Brazilian Ronaldo R9 then you can talk about Messi, Cristiano after that
No way, kinda. I agree maradona more talented than messi, but get out of here with R9 and Best. Ya they were insande dribbles, and I've watched their highlights, neither of them can provide passes on the same consistency or difficulty as messi. And i don't even think they r better dribbles than Messi honestly. but that's my opinion anyways.
@@walkingbush5764 i think brazilian ronaldo as the most complete forward we have ever seen. if he didnt have that knee injury who knows how high he could have risen
@@walkingbush5764 Messi has all the assets in terms of low gravity, speed, being able to turn direction on a plate as Maradona had, but that’s also where the comparison stops for me! What Maradona could do with a ball, and how he would apply it in his game within a blink of an eye is simply uncompareable to any other player ever! I think Messi has been the best player in the World from around when he got better than Ronaldinho, and to around 2018/2019 when Mbappé just have been having the edge on Messi in terms of speed and dribbling agility. Is Mbappé better then Messi in his prime time? No, and he never will be either! But all those times Christiano Ronaldo won Ballon D’or Messi was just a much better player! That also raises the question af validity of looking on awards and stats. RM was better than Barcelona those years Ronaldo won Ballon D’or, however that doesn’t necessarily mean that a particular player from RM would be better than a particular player from Barca.. And not to take anything away from those two the World stage in football did not hold that many and big star players as other eras in football history. What came out of Brasil during Messis primetime career? Neymar that’s it.. And for Argentina? DiMaria thats it.. African continent?? Sadio Mané and Mosalah??? Were they as good as Jay-Jay Okocha, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o, George Weah and so on? No!! And DiMaria compared to Batistuta, Ortega, and even Maradona? Not in a million years! Or Neymar compared to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Kaká, Romario and so on? Hell No!!! It has been easier to be considered among the best in the World in recent years compared to past times..
Also in terms of stats it would be obvious to anyone that you likely to score more goals if you play on a team enjoying 70-80% of ballpossesion in the opponents half compared to 30-40% of ballpossesion in the opponents half. You will simply have better stats on a better team, it is as simple as that..
I solely refer to and consider what I actually saw players do on and off the pitch by themselves. Anything else is useless to consider! And what Maradona could is simply unparalleled!
@@anewhopedawn6676 I agree with you that Ronaldo (the real one not the fake one😅) was an outstanding forward. So sad injuries took their stroll on him. He came back but never really reached same level as before despite being one of the best players in the world even then. But Maradona was just on a completely different level.. In everything basically, both on and of the pitch! He was a natural born leader and squeezed the best out of his teammates by shear presence.. Technically nobody is even halfclose to what Maradona could do with a football, or just simply any object regardless of shape and size.. Videos of Messi juggling an orange with his feets doesn’t really impress me when Maradona at the age of 13 would do not just that, but also juggle the orange with his heel, sholders, chest, head, balancing it on his toe, his heel etc. on livetelevision in Argentina! Live tv! People were actually not coming to see Argentinos Juniors, they came to see the halftime show with the young wizard on everybodys lip, Maradona the golden boy.. Imagine getting a nick name like that even before playing your first minute.. It was pressure from the fans that saw Maradona debute as a 15 year old kid.. KID! The coach told him: If you can nutmeg an opponent do it.. It didn’t take Maradona 10 minutes before the first of thousands of nutmegs to come, was unfolding to the roar of the crowd. The man was simply a wizard on the ball!
Veron buuhed by the crowd, but when Maradona started clapping for Veron so did the crowd, and they would literally trust him with their own kids if needed. That was the sort of aura Maradona yelded throughout his career..
Infantino urging FIFA-membership countries to honour their ambassadeur Pele with renaming their stadiums after Pele.. Maradona urged nobody, and yet he has 2 stadiums renamed after him, a church named after him, museums, streets etc, etc.. That was the sort of impact he had!
Despite his star status he was extremely humble on the pitch and a true team player! No offensive world class player has ever contributed so much in the defense, and winning possesion for his team. Maradona was the real deal man..
@@jonathanjoensen2679 You’re right in saying that Maradona was probably the most skilled player ever. Messi though is almost as magical while also being more effective.
Just look at their Goalscoring records. Messi is arguably the greatest Goalscorer the Game has ever seen while playing as a No. 10. That is unfathomable.
They’re both extraordinary passers & dribblers and while Maradona was more creative on the field, Messi is more consistent.
Messi’s skillset, individual accomplishments, longevity & team success put him at a different level to everyone else including Maradona.
