The suspension of logic whenever it happens, is something that obscures facts more often than not.
Strongly believing in something is a state of mind, not evidence of a truth, especially if the belief is only backed up by further appeals to emotions.
Those that enable delusion might seem compassionate but they might not be as helpful as they wish to signal to an audience and some have less than noble intentions.
The infection of the religious, politically correct or SJW view can often run quite deep.
In this comedy the parody is made of gender dysphoria.
NBSR would stand closer to the position of the John Cleese (Reg) character in this sketch.
I watched "Life of Brian" at a Drive-In theater when it was first released. (I also watched VCR's kill off Drive-Ins) I remember the 'Loretta' sketch because it was so ludicrously funny. I was amazed they could come up with something so out-of-left-field and take the piss out of it. That and the UFO scene was sheer brilliance. I was a teenager back then. Now, in my 60s, this classic art would not make it past the cutting-room floor. It would be seen as oppressive and offensive. And thus, the world continues to decline further towards the abyss.
So there reason for having the "Right" is that they think its a struggle for oppression ..that makes alot mor sense. but also how rretarded
they All are. the symbolic of the LGBTQ of being a delusional fuk.
Dude same
Dude, it’s being kept in a stage production, so you’re safe from the editing room floor.
You may not be politically correct, but you are empirically correct. Couldn't agree with you more. Satire is lost on the youth of today...
When I see that gag I think of a group of wokes meeting.
This aged amazingly
So well that is still fresh!
Rather like fine wine.
Amazing point! Stan is always putting us off.
It's timeless Truth
This means this movie is no longer a comedy move, it's now a documentary!
Satire they call it ,
It always was...
I feel the same way about the movie Idiocracy.
The whole concept is obvious and hilariously ridiculous. Yet nowadays it's ridiculously dangerous, considering that parents are losing their children if they refuse to "affirm" their so-called gender identity. Society is lost.
Yep, same with Idiocracy!!
"... Symbolic of his struggle against reality."
Nailed it.
Absolutely....we are now all in a virtual reality and can change ourselves like we FEEL! Absolutely ridiculous
This is symbolic of Monty Python's genius at forseeing Great Nonsense to come!😅
@@smartletix the thing is no one can. But giving those people so much attention is just what they want!
@Super Bleifrei exactly attention is what they are seeking.
@Super Bleifrei If other people have to acknowledge their gender so does that mean that those people have more power over their lifes? Just weak minded, delusional, or mental ill people seek acceptance/ acknowledgement from outside. That doesn't help these gender dysphoria people.
Who would have thought a group of comedians in 1979 starring in a movie based on 'events' thousands of years ago could have predicted the future 😂😂😂
They did it again in "Monty Python: the Meaning of Life." The scene at the beginning of the movie where John Cleese and Graham Chapman play a couple of doctors delivering a baby has the mother ask them, after the delivery "is it a boy or a girl?" Graham Chapman looks at her and rather testily asks back "well I think it's a little early to start imposing roles on it, don't you?"
Who knew that a throwaway comedy line from forty years ago -- meant to be laughed at because of the question's obvious absurdity -- would be seriously asserted by people in the 2020s as actual reality? Our society has gone off the deep end.
Exactly. Maybe they were prophets.
They didn't predict the future they suggested it, and people watching this for decades thought it was actually a good, fun idea, and there we are. Without the fun part😜
They didn’t predict the future, in 1979 there was already radical gender identity and leftism, just wasn’t being pushed by the media till another few decades
and the past☝🏻
To this day its still mind boggling how ahead of time the Monty Python group was. From religion to social norms, they made fun of stuff before they even existed.
Umm, no. Overly verbose revolutionaries existed long before monty python, and so did trans people.
@@jacobedward2401 I'm sure they existed but they weren't deranged yet or at least only in private. Monty Python predicted they'd become a divorced from reality side show who demand to be treated the same as women 😂

what the hell is wrong with all these people commenting this!!!??? 😂😂😂 they had Marxists back then too, you know, hence the sketch exists 🤦🏻♂️

“Where’s the foetus gonna gestate, you gonna keep it in a box?!” 😂
I saw the film when it was released, and it has aged more than very well! This remains one of the best comedy lines ever written, and brilliantly delivered as always.
I try to imitate Cleese . "keep it in a bawks?" in falsetto like Terry's voice is in my head! 'He's NOT the Messiah, He's a Naughty Boy!'.
John Cleese has crafted a stage version of 'LoB' and the actors in it have written to John saying he should drop this scene because it may offend people.
Knowing John, that would only make him dig in and keep the scene.
John's not exactly PC.
And I love him for this.
Good, Cleese needs to tell them to fvck off, just like he did with Brian's question about the Judean Peoples Front.
All the way
UPDATE, 29MAY2023:
John Cleese has stated that this scene will NOT be cut from the stage adaptation of 'LoB'.
Thank you, John, for not backing down here.
He is NOT cutting the scene.
He’s not cutting it and we love him for it
Came here after the supposed 'cancel' uproar. Absolutely hilarious! Considering this was filmed decades ago - it's aged amazingly. Will rewatch this film again!
This is arguably the funniest film ever made. Sadly, comedy like this can't be done and won't be done again. So, get a copy of it and hold on...
Why do you MAGA idiots think that any criticism of you is cancel culture?
The way John Cleese says "what?" is amazing, as is the whole sketch. 🙂
God it’s so crazy seeing him so young here. Aging sucks.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Consider the alternative to aging. That sucks even more.

@@DoubleDogDare54 Lol reminds me of a friend of mine, when his birthday was coming up and I said to him, "Here's to another birthday!" and he respond, "Yes. That's what happens when you don't die."
Michael Palin's "What?" after a short pause when Cleese asks "What's the point?" is also hilarious.
A film that would never be made now, satirising the people who would ban it's making now, fifty years ago.
It doesn't get any better than this.
Disney wouldn't know how to react! Maybe, reimagine 'Roots' with Timothy Chalamet as Kuntakente? Geez.

Quite incredible how they predicted the future 😬
Was conceived 40 years ago. But if you would say something about it you would be a conspiracy theorist saying a conspiracy theory.
