Even without knowing who is specifically going to take up the Black Panther mantle, I did like how the trailer put emphasis on the rest of the characters of Wakanda as a whole so it feels like we'll have an ensemble character story with the city at the heart of it. I honestly don't mind this as I like a lot of the characters in the original first movie and wouldn't mind if they had an equal/shared role to play in the story if the writing holds up.

I kind of like the idea that there may be more than one bearer of the Black Panther suit. It would be fitting for people who have fought together and found strength in their unity, especially after this new tragedy.
That is literally the way it has been in the comics... T'Challa wasn't the first or the last.

I honestly don't like the idea of multiple black Panthers at once.
1) it would honestly become convoluted with no one knowing which one is where and if all made different it would just be power rangers
2) in tradition, it has always been a royal family mantle with others only getting the right to wear it after defeating the current ruler in combat and becoming the royal family
3) most of the characters are already known to be total badasses through dedication and training with the Dora Milaje especially, having no powers but having the ability to take down super soldiers. Giving these people the herb is like giving super strength and speed to batman it looks cool but beating bane would be less of an achievement.
I love the way he makes sure to call Black Panther not only they're king but he manages to say "Our King" when referring to him

It’s wild to me how Chadwick passed. My dad had stage 3 colon rectal cancer, and I saw just how that affected him. it’s just crazy to me that despite battling stage 4 cancer, Chadwick still managed to deliver a great performance in every single movie he was in. Cancer is never an easy battle, whether it be the person fighting it, or their family and friends alongside them. R.I.P Chadwick.
I must say, a trailer has never made me feel such pain before, I felt so happy and so empty at the same time. This just goes to show the emotional impact that Chadwick Boseman had on fans with his incredible talent and wonderful personality, the fact that I never even knew him, but still feel like somebody important for me is gone...wow...RIP King
Absolutely love the shot of Sherri standing around the water and flames. She STANDS before the chaos around her. Also the shot has fire on top of water, essentially saying you can't put out the flames, as they climb the walls. Also could be foreshadowing of her uniting land and sea the way she's surrounded by water and fire but still standing tall.

@@eXGaming4u I think a lot of people are missing a very important detail here. You notice the Queen giving her impassioned speech but she explicitly states that her "ENTIRE" family is gone. Suggesting that Shuri dies as well, & not merely referring to just her husband and T-challa. That speech scene might take place much later in the movie & before she meets with Namor on the beach in the latter trailer. It was rumored a while ago that Shuri would enter the ancestral realm, so the shot of her on the throne surrounded by fire could be that. There were also rumors early on either during or before filming that Letitia Wright didn't want to assume the Black Panther mantle. There were also early rumors that Wright would be exiting the MCU.

I really wish Nakia gets to be the black panther. That would make the most sense for me. Character wise and Lupita is maybe the biggest actor in the cast. She would do an amazing job taking up the mantle.

Maybe the most emotional trailer we've gotten in the MCU. Obviously, given what happened with Chadwick plays a big part in that but also the music and visuals they give in the trailer were spectacular. Feel like this is one of the few Marvel projects that is a mystery to how exactly things will play out. Really looking forward to it.

One thing you do have to remember, Marvel loves to digitally remove a TON of things from their trailers and teasers. I'm thinking it will more likely be Nakia than Shuri, but with them going to the ocean, they could have gotten Eric Killmonger's body from the ocean where he was buried.

I think it's him because shuri has no combat skills. She is the tech wiz which will help iron heart. Killmonger seems more logical. I seen in comics that shuri when she first try to take the herb she was rejected by Bass because she had some resentment towards Tchallas but we do have a female BP before. Possibly the BP is his mother. She probably always have the power and only use it when it's necessary. But I believe it will be multiple BP in this movie
How is resurrecting a dead guy a better choice than giving a Black Panther suit to one of the established female warriors/leaders from the first movie? It makes no sense to me.
Hope it's Nakia. She is so pretty! But I think it will be Ramonda and she will gave her life for Wakanda. Wakanda Forever!
I really hope that it is Okoye who gets the role of the Black Panther. Honestly her loyalty to the throne of Wakanda is unmatchable just like her fighting skills. But I know more people want to see Shuri or Nakia but I hope Marvel does it. Can't wait to see the movie. Even though it will be quite hard to watch without Chadwick Boseman. Rest in Peace.

12:20, Namora's skin looks brown when under the water while it's blue when she's on the surface. It could possibly mean that Atlanteans are normal skinned under the water but turns blue when they are on the surface as seen on all other scenes in the trailer.
Yeah i was seeing that too cos when he was lowering himself on the throne, the others were not blue as well
Blue is the color of asphyxiation so maybe their skin isnt being oxygenated when on land

The only trailer to ever make me cry. I’m excited to see some Mayan/Aztec rep for this film especially as someone who grew up with the stories about them and wanting to visit their pyramids.

I really enjoyed the first movie. I have a feeling that this is one of the few movies where the 2nd is going to be better than the first. With Chadwick not being in it, I don't say that lightly.
There was so much stuff in this trailer that was confusing when first watched.

Excellent video! Not sure if you noticed, Lad, but the way Shuri greets Riri is almost the same way T'challa greets her (Shuri), in the first film. It's a casual handshake followed by the Wakandan greeting, and it's filmed using very similar angles.
I have to admit this trailer made shed a few tears. Angela Bassett is really a queen, and her delivery was very emotional. She spoke from the heart.
First Easter egg I noticed was in the first shot, it shows a Maya/Aztec pyramid in the shore, this is in line with Namor’s new design based on such cultures

I watched the movie yesterday. The emotions in the movie are just incredible. There's no acting present at T'Challa's funeral, the emotions there are 100% real and you can see it. Also when Shurri talks about T'challa you can see she was actually talking about Chadwick himself and how much his passing hurt everyone.

Queen Ramonda says that her entire family is gone, so probably Shuri is missing in this part. That could pontentially be her cue for appearing as Black Panther without anyone's knowledge that it's her using the suit. Also, the Black Panther suit looks similar to Killmonger's suit colors, which could mean that they lost the original Black Panther design and she took Killmonger's suit.

I think it was a good idea not to replace Chadwick Bozeman. It wouldn’t be the same. But, i’m so excited for all the movies coming out in phase 4 and 5! I love Shuri and all the women in Black Panther and I’m so glad they get the spotlight.

7:25 the flood took place sometime in the daytime while shuri is there after dark , meaning that she went in the throne room some time after the flood , thats why she is dry , she is clearly looking for something there hidden by prev or maybe first king , thats why the fire signals opening some gate like indianna jones stuff . hence its not a fire that DESTROYS it but opens something new instead , why would aquatic creatures use fire ??
6:29 the ship is def not wankandan , also its not the same ship that wakandan and atlanteans fight in the end of trailer , the wakandan ship looks more traditional , while this ship is basically a carrier , hence the scene where scientists are held hostage is not from that same ship but in wakanda or somewhere else .

Idk if this was just monologing, or if it was a reference to Captain America creating the Invaders during his fight against the Red Skull. It would line up around the right time for the comics to Cap's origin story, and it would make Namor essentially the first Mutant.

I think the necklace is really the device for BP suit, if you look at 14:07 you can see the similar shape on BP's thigh.

Is no-one gonna talk about that Attuma is in this!! He’s the right hand to Namor in the movie but I truly think that he’s the main villain pulling strings and blaming wakanda in order to gain the throne. Remember Attuma is a villain in the comics, an Atlantian as well as Namors long time rival.

He cant die of cancer in the movie universe since the heart-shaped herb prevent the consumer from getting sick too i'm pretty sure along with the superhuman strengh, speed and durability, so the black phanter can only die of old age or external injuries like explosions or bullets.

In the deep oceans there hardly any light for cameras to see, so we use sonar to detact approaching ships, so the Atlantians would use whales mount as a cover for their assault.

So one thing I noticed is that during the shot of the new black panther and namor if you look below the elbow, so like mid forearm, you see two panther's that somewhat match the design of Shuri's blaster gauntlets. So it could be a good hint to her being the new black panther.

Shuri wearing a white dress in the flooded throne room makes me think she's actually seeing a vision after the funeral. She starts off with a very orange background, similar to the soul realm that Thanos was in, and it would transition to the color scheme of that scene in the throne room flawlessly

The scene where Ramonda talks about losing her family seems like it will be a flashback right after the snap. And I think the person on the bike is going to be Riri. And there will be more than one BP.
At 1:59 during the procession, the dora milaje are carrying a weapon and a shield. Those looked like the weapon and shield that T'challa used during his battle with M'baku and Killmonger during the coronation ceremony.
This type of scenario reminds me of Paul walkers passing. How they proceeded with the movie and the incredible song "see you again".

Being hispanic and of central American descent, seeing Tenoch as Namor is HYPE AF! Namor is one of the only heroes that they could actually cast hispanic without it feeling forced and makes sense. I am SO excited to see representation especially through one of Marvel's biggest characters!

Both the scenes of the bridge fight and car chase happens around MIT in Boston. The bridge in question is Harvard Bridge, the one that connects Boston to MIT. I saw some bits of the recording last August (I go to college there). Also the scene with Agent Ross is likely on Boston too. I see green building (an MIT building) in the background as if seen across the river from Boston.
I kind of want the mantle to be split among various members of the cast - that way we could get like a black Panther squad, Nakia being the sneaky one, M’Baku the heavy brawler one, Okoye the warrior type and Shuri the tech based one
And they could use the code names Mikey, Raphael, Leo and Donny. The Black Panther is not supposed to be the Ninja Turtles, and that is pretty much what you just described.

I’ve never had a trailer make me feel emotions. But this trailer brought me close to tears. Idk why, but I’m more excited about this movie then I’ve been for many different movies. There’s a reason why Kevin Feige saved it for the end of the phase. It’s got to have Doom or mention of mutants in it.

I think you're right about Shuri's necklace housing the suit inside because if you look at the back design of the Black Panther suit you can see the same design that's on the necklace.

We were in grief with Tony's expected death. Now we will mourn properly for T'Challa's unexpected leaving. Such a beautiful trailer.. Such a powerful speech by the Queen.
Adding a bit- at the first scene of Nakia, you can see a mayan-temple. And shuri’s scene in the throne room, it’s probably more like her dream or vision of the throne. RIP Chadwick
Many people said that the movie was not that good but after watching the movie again I realised that it couldn't be better. MCU movies have some boundary in the overall story of a movie. With the given plot the director did an excellent job.

One thing I noticed was the panther jaws on the black panthers arms. In leaks it shows the black panther having panther blasters exactly like the ones shurri had in the last movie. I think those panther jaws on the arms transform into those blasters.

That crystal on Ramonda's throne looks like a silhouette of a, well, a panther, if you look close enough, you can make out the fangs and head shape, maybe a tribute to the black panther?
