Many people didn’t like Gorr’s design, but the co-creator of the character explicitly said that the design doesn’t matter. What matters is the backstory and the portrayal, which he trusts with Christian Bale’s talent.
In DC, Bale lost his parents in an alley.
In Marvel, he lost his wife and child in another planet.
and knowing Christian Bale, he brought 110% effort to the character.
Also bale said he didn’t want to do another comic movie but he agreed after reading the script

18:11 in Eternals it was said that the celestials are the light of the universe so this place being dark/monochrome/basically lightless might be because there are no living celestials there(they might’ve been killed by Gorr or because of the necrosword) and Not because of Gorr’s aura

I have a theory that Gorr gave himself the scars coz most of them seem to be where his tattoos was.
His tattoos might be a tribal tattoo, in the comics he was outcasted by his tribe for speaking against the gods so maybe this Gorr "removed" his tattoos out of anger and spite, maybe even to avoid the bad memory.

Ya, the creators actually said they made a scene or wanted to make a scene of him removing the tattoos himself after he got so mad at the God's but they didn't put it in the movie because it would be too gory.
One small detail: in the very final shot, where you see Thor jumping in the air and attacking the sort of ship in the blueish environment, you can see that Thor is using the back of Storm breaker, indicating that he's not going for the kill but simply wants to destroy the ship
Nah,that's because the back of Stormbreaker has a bigger surface area.
So........even if he used the axe side doesn't mean he's going for the kill

The line "because I have something worths fighting for" shows Thor’s major power up. Yes, Thor has got stronger already as he wielded the stormbreaker, but don’t forget how he also got weaker post Infinity War as he lost everyone he loved, some of his friends, his whole family, all gone. But when Jane comes back and even fights alongside him, it gives Thor someone he loves and will fights for her again, hence his power up to fight Gorr.
I personally live Gorr's new design. It looks a lot more menacing. But what I am thrilled to see is the fight scene on the black & white planet. Based on the trailer, there will be a lot of effects dedicated to the colors, and I think it'll look amazing!

I have a question regarding your claim that we got to see gorr before his killing spree started. In the comics, Gorr comes from a planet which has no forests or water and sun shines day and night, but if we look at Gorr's background in that scene, it's full of greenery. So, either they changed Gorr's origin story or maybe Gorr is killing his first gods on some other planet.

well marvel sometimes likes to change stuff (mostly background) in the trailer. it's most likely a strategy to throw us off
@@lavalake8491 I like both ideas. I wouldn’t mind either. Maybe they would make his planet green and then everything turns monochrome once he turns to the darkness. Maybe it’s a cinematic metaphor. Or marvel could be messing with the trailer.

Holding a sword by the blade like that was actually done historically, since it helped with applying more force while thrusting. Although, What was generally seen is one hand on the blade and one on the handle, a technique called "half-swording". It's fairly safe if you have a good grip and your hand doesn't slide across the blade, even without gloves.
Half swording was also possible because the entire blade isn't sharpened. Only about the top 1/3 of a sword is actually sharpened, so the area near the hilt where you would grab it to half sword isn't going to be sharp.

plus, Gorr is clearly safe 'cause he's regenerating in seconds (as we can see in opening scene, when he accidentally touched the Necrosword). Is it due to the power of the sword or his own is unclear, but he definitely may not be worryed of some minor wounds, as well as serious wounds like in the last battle

A detail from my side ( might be wrong 😅): When thor says 8 years 7 months and 6 days it's also the gap between the movies thor: the dark world ( in which jane and thor were last seen) and love and thunder only the difference is of days for which he says "give or take"😅 by the way huge fan from india

My Theory: When Gorr says "you are not like other God's I have killed, you have something worth to fight for" he is actually talking to Jane.
And you actually pointed out that Thor might be captured in that prison so Jane will come to rescue after all she has feelings for our Thor⚡🔨.
So she actually has emotions on stake and something(Her Love) to fight for unlike other gods that Gorr has killed.
I am just hoping Taika didn't push Thor(Chris) on backfoot like what happened with Loki on Loki series and gives us Almighty Badass Thor:God of Thunder with Jane Foster as Mighty Thor⚡🔨

Just eye candy and fan boy glee is all I can muster...sad to say. All these movies are just pure escapism for a fan of my generation. To think that what Lee,Kirby,Ditko,Heck,Buscema,Everett envisioned has turned into a vivid Iconic multiverse....I have lived the dream!...Thanks!
Concerning his design, I guess they wanted to make him more human and less alien, so he can be more expressive and sympathetic, and also to differentiate him from Ebony Maw, because both have a very similar design in the comics (with the whole squidward looking face they have going on lol) also come on...its christian bale, you don't hire him in a marvel movie then cover his face with cgi, that would be foolish
Also adding the tentacles will just make him look like Bib Fortuna, so that's why they ditched it, better to look like The Dark Lord than look like Jabba's babysitter any day lmao

It restricts the actors on the facial department, that's why Thanos was given a very humanoid face with expressive eyes, same for gollum or caesar, its really hard to make a cgi character be symphathetic if their face is very inhuman and monstrous, I mean I'm not saying that it would be awful if they did indeed make Gorr look comic accurate, that would be pretty neat, and its marvel of course, they can find a way to make it work, I'm just saying that we really shouldn't be pissed off about it because its great that Christian Bale won't be constrained by cgi and will be able to thoroughly express his emotions without the burden of knowing that all of it will get covered up by cg, I mean to level with you here when I first saw his look I was like "....the fuck? Really?? What the hell are they thinking!!" but I've come to appreciate it the more I thought about it

The portal jane come through to the ancient chamber is the same in Thor : Ragnarok . In Valkyrie's flashback when they came , they came through the same kind of portal. I think it has something to do with Pegasus .

Damn I didn’t even notice that the spaceship was trying to move forward but prevented by Thor that’s actually an amazing detail
It also looked like there was a sixth statue behind Jane that was destroyed. To the back and right, just past The Watcher. Making it an even 6, three on each side. Also, I noticed Jane's helmet dissolving back into the suit when she landed in this chamber without the .25x speed. Pretty cool little detail.
Remember in the dark knight, when Harvey dent was talking to Bruce "you ether die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain." Cristian was batman and now he is playing gorr.

13:26 I have a theory that after Olympus Thor will be sent somewhere since you can tell later in the trailer that Thor and the others were fighting off Olympus Guards so I think they we're caught afterwards and they suddenly got interrupted by that black space where Gorr is probably where Thor would've sent to but Gorr made it there already ready to kill his next god
That may be, but depending on how they structure the scene, it may be a bit chaotic and hard to follow
I think the scene where Thor's channeling a bunch of thunder with storm breaker is the "death blow" to gorr and the shot with the planet covered in lighting is gorrs death.
Keen to see if they do some lighting combos with both thors

Korg speaking with the tribe and explaining Thor’s backstory is likely so that Thor has more believers / followers thus giving him extra power as a God as explained in Moon Knight.
I wonder if they’ll be a part of the movie where multiple people will be helping create more believers in Thor across the galaxy.

I think the debris in the background moving in a different direction to gorrs cloak shows that he’s the thing creating the debris to be moving, like he’s the eye of a storm
not a dream sequence... we've seen storm breaker manifest his armor before, so what you're seeing is two different times in the same scene. he probably grabs storm breaker and manifests that armor after seeing Jane with mjolnir so that he can compete with her look since she just took his place. then we see them talking after the battle, both in full armor.
also everyone has missed the Omega symbol on Zeus' chest... that's a HUGE sign of "the end"

One cool detail I noticed, it could just be coincidence, but the 8 year gap Thor mentions is approximately the time between the release of The Dark World and this film, ie: the time since Jane was last in the MCU. It's almost like a little inside joke.
