that is much more interesting than the little girl. The little girl doesn't really seem to be foreshadowing and that he missed the real importance of the scene, which was mortal kombat. Little girl seemed like they were gonna say its Blades daughter or sister, but then they just fight, not special at all except its a little girl...
Small correction: That specific Bat Toy you mentioned. Was NOT from the Morbius figure. It was from the Spiderman vampire Bat figure. Because that character had the red cape and black bat with the tail. I owned the figure back in the day, I recognized it immediately. The rest of the video was spot on, and well done.

I just saw Madame Webb, I don'tthink it was a bad as the worst reviews claimed, but it had some huge issues. now to watch his commentary.
I always thought that when Blade cut the roots of the plant it was a metaphor for him losing his roots to humanity after Whistler was killed.
I thought he was getting that cure from Whistler from a serum made from that plant and him cutting the roots meant that he expected to not need it any more after that night. He would either die in battle or he didnt care about himself going full vampire etc after Whistler's death.
1998's Blade is still underappreciated and still not well known and understood enough that Blade

People should be praising THIS FILM instead of Black Panther.
People do praise Blade when talking about Marvel movies in general or when breaking down the history of the MCU (along with X-Men 1 and Spider-Man 1)
the reason Black Panther got so much praise was because at the time there wasn't an MCU movie that had a black character as the main starring character (War Machine main supporting character in Iron Man 2 same thing with Falcon in Captain America 2). Black Panther came out at the right time and became a billion dollar box office success and paved the way for more hollywood movies to star more black actors in leading roles (whether good or bad films) instead of supporting roles like Star Wars failed to do with Finn in the Sequel Trilogy for example.

Blade has always been one of my favorite super hero movies and I consider black panther meh. Also Wesley is a really good actor that can take on so many different roles.
Wesley wanted to do play the role of black panther back in the day but wasn’t able to get it done.

I had no clue this movie came out in 98. Ive watched multiple times since i was like 5. I loved the blade movies then and now. Except for the last live action one. That one was garbage. Wesley snipes is and always will be blade for me
I wasn't sure that a film of this era would have enough hidden details to make a good Canadian Lad video, but you found a way, you beautiful bastard!

If you count the serum dart that Blade hits Frost with but he(Frost) knocks it away after only a couple of seconds then Blade actually injected Frost with 7 vials of serum
How was it INJECTED if he knocked it away as it was NEVER injected........... still making the INJECTED count 6 not 7
@@SoloGamingZAhe didn't knock it before it hit him. He knocked it out after it hit him. These things inject incredibly fast. Just look at the close-up of it hitting him in the forehead.

@@VincentHarrydragonphire I gotta agree with you, these things inject almost instantaneously. I think the first vial does have an effect on Frost, but it's proportional to the amount of time it's able to inject into him so probably not a full does as when he explodes the area where that vial hit seems to expand and react less.

The first two Blade movies are among my favourite superhero movies and Blade is one of my favourite superheroes. So this 0.25x speed video has definitely increased my love for Blade. You're absolutely right that Marvel movies wouldn't be the box office hits and cultural milestones they are without Wesley Snipes' Blade.
For the record, I noticed details No. 6, No. 7, No. 15, and No. 21 during the countless times I watched this movie.
Can you make 0.25x speed videos for Blade II and Blade: Trinity? Even though Blade: Trinity is definitely the worst film in the Blade trilogy, it still deserves a 0.25x speed video.

Honestly, I think the prophecy of La Magra told Frost what he needed to do to create a Daywalker. I think Frost really did vampirize a pregnant woman with the intent to do just that. He may or may not have had failed attempts in the past.
The more I think about it, the more plausible it seems to me that the prophecy isn't really a prophecy, but more an instruction manual on gaining the power of and thereby becoming an avatar of La Magra rather than actually resurrecting La Magra.
Frost's personality didn't really change at all after the ritual. It certainly did not seem to me like he was instilled with the presence of another more powerful entity. He was still himself, just... better.
Snipes was badass as blade I really do hope he's making a comeback
yea right, he was such a bad ass, his stunt double did more work than stunts. He was such a piece of chit that his stunt double was in the movie more than Wesley Snipes. He is a horrible person, he even claims he isn't an American but a free citizen....blade doesn't need Wesley Snipes to be good. If Ryan Reynolds couldn't stand working with him, no one can.

Agreed. I don't think I'd ever seen anyone mention it in a video before. I used to think it screwed up La Magra, like making it so the Blood God wasn't at full strength, but I never bothered to count the number of pure bloods. I always assumed there were only 12.

Cheers Lad! Great breakdown. In my house we watched all the Blade movies a lot. There were several details i never knew. Cant wait for the breakdown of the reat of the series. Please bring up something cool about Ryan Reynolds being in that other one and how it can connect to Deadpool and Wolverine.
Blade 1&2 and Van Helsing are some of my most favorite vampire action movies.

Blade hit him with 7 not 6. Yes the was the 5 sticking out of him when he landed and 1 in the head later making 6 but blade hit him with 1 before that Frost broke off which is why there is a extra hole in his stomach. Thus making the whole scene play out like this...
Blade gets the injections unstuck using his sword causing them to start falling.
Blade is then able the get underneath them and catches the injections behind his back with frost noticing.
Moments later blade throws an injection at frost and It hits him in the stomach.
(+1 in the stomach)
Frost hits it trying to knock it off him and it breaks but not before the liquid is injected
Frost jumps at blade to close the distance but blade throws 5 more hitting frost with all 5. 4 to the chest 1 in the leg
Moments after frost lands the many injections start taking effect but blade kicks 1 more into frost's forehead killing him by causing him to blow up moments after the last injection hits.
All together that's...
+1 to the stomach (frost breaks it)
+4 to the chest/stomach
+1 to the leg
+1 to the head

I haven't watched Blade in a while now but when he cut the roots off that plant, I thought it was him killing it cos he didn't need it to form that serum that Whistler gave him any more. IIRC, Whistler made that serum from that plant so by cutting the roots off it, he was expecting to either die fighting Frost that night or probably face whatever consequences he would have to without it i.e. falling towards going full blood drinking vampire. One way or the other, he just didn't care any more after losing Whistler.
Still think Blade is underrated. Such a great movie.

I always remembered seeing that in the film when I had that model on my shelf.
i watched this w/ my mom in theaters when I was 9..it became one ofthe best Vamp. movies ever! It put MARVEL on the map film wise. What a time for entertainment 80s-90s an early 2000s

Despite all the delays, I am very much looking forward to the new Blade movie, Mr. Ali is a great actor, and the movie will have the screenwriter of Blade Runner 2049, but my God, he is going to need a lot of style to reach this amount of style
That last detail makes this film a million times better and more interesting. I’m always more engrossed in a film when it puts that sort of thing in bumps the realism up massively. That’s why Logan is my favourite Marvel movie

my favorite scene was the spider crawling over the city model. Not sure why but....Blade vs Giant Spider just sounds like a good time.

My favorite Blade 2 scene is when Blade, the girl and Ron Perlman are all back to back, laying out the sewer vamps! Any shots like that are just WINS!!
That bat toy was from Spiderman but not morbius, but a vampire spiderman who had that same bat on his shoulders. I had it when I was a kid xD

All twelve arre there but one tribe has two seats held by twins. I would assume the twins were the older asian man with beard and face tatoos and the older asian woman.

One thing you probably missed out is during the train scene after Karen Jenson fixes Blade's dislocated shoulder, he still uses his left hand ONLY to administer the serum. You could say that he does so because his right hand may still hurt but we know that he has a high pain tolerance. I think its because in the usual scenario,he will be alone and will need to take care of himself without being able to use the dislocated shoulder. Such a nice little detail.
This is my first and still become my favorite marvel movie trilogy besides captain america trilogy ❤ Wesley Snipes is a GOAT and i hope he can be in the MCU Blade as a cameo atleast
One thing I noticed when watching blade is that in the scene where blade dislocate his shoulder, he injects his syrum and they do a close up on blades face and a booger falls from Wesley snipes nose lol.
You missed how in the final fight scene, how the blood on frosts face when from left to right lol

The new Blade movie has some serious shows to fill. Snipes is so iconic as Blade.
The little girl who kicked blade’s ass was a “pure” vampire. Hence the proficiency of her fighting skills and effectiveness of her surprise attack.
Westley Snipes's Blade should be hailed as the OG marvel movie. Because it was the movie that put marvel in the cinema universe.

4:43 the moon could have been known and it could have been an idea that the vampire world is really backwards because some of the time lapse scene are shown in reverse.
All Blades were well made, 3 being the weakest but had the strongest cast. It was indeed the birth of Marvel live-action right there. From the writing, directing to the Cast AND SOUNDTRACK omg.
Please do Blade 2 next!

I've been giving this movie credit for years for what it was, and of course in Blade Trinity you'll notice that Ryan Reynolds didn't go from DC to Marvel - he went from Marvel, to DC, and THEN back to Marvel 🤣 also I totally always noticed the thing about Frost's left leg remaining mostly unchanged, this was back when people actually gave thought and effort into their effects (maybe because they were appreciated and possibly not as overworked)
