Chain issue is because of the massive weight of the bike. Manufacturer should have used a bigger sprocket and heavy duty chain for this bike, but RE is known for cutting corners on cost.

    In all 650 models
Chain , oil consumption and disc pads is major problems
This 650 engine is launched in November 2017
But this 3 problems is still standing.
RE is not working on bike problems.

I have droven 7500kms in same celestial red model and have not faced issues with the chain sprocket. Lubing once in 500kms. This bike is good but there are some issues in electronics. I had a issue with fuel guage warning not displayed for low fuel. I visited twice RE to change the cupler. If you drive the bike once. You will forget everything. ❤ This bike is loaded with sensors.

The bike should have a belt drive. Belt drive lasts 100,000 miles or more with no maintenance. Much cheaper than chain drive in the long run. It should also hydraulic valve adjustment. All I to do on Sportster is i change the fluids very easy to do. It has 400,000 miles on her on the original engine and she is 25 years old. She's more reliable than my BMW,s. She's a joy to ride. The proof you are happy with a bike is when you have it for decades.

No offroading experience till now. Not interested either.

Very informative video. Sir actually im already owning Honda hness cb350 but now im thinking of getting a new one for myself for college travelling. My travelling will be mostly in city and a bit ion highway. I thought of going into 650cc category and the continental gt 650 is a good option but isnt comfortable as its a cafe racer. I want a comfortable bike to travel. So i thought of 3options:
    1) super meteor 650
    2) Himalyan 450 the new one
    3) honda cb350 rs- see this is the best bike in this segment because it gives low cost maintainance and high average and also sporty looks. But we already own one hness so there is a super confusion between them.
I love Cb350 rs and super meteor 650 but as per the situation which bike i should go for? Thank you so much
And btw my budget is till 5-6 lakh so please suggest some bikes of ur choice as well.
    Thank you❤

Seems RE is not taking the chain sprocket issue seriously. It's now a proven fact that every owner is complaining about it and the factory should recall all the bikes and solve this issue.
Problem is that they themselves don't have any permanent solution so all they do is change the chain and sprockets and after 6 to 8 thousand kms the problem returns.
Wake up RE before it's too late.

    Sir great video.But i have 3 questions.
My bike journey is mostly in city traffic, occassionally i go to highway.
    1. Engine heat- is wearing trousers necessary for the heat. Cant i have my baby sit on the tank as i do on some of my bikes
    2. Ground clearance - where does the bike hit from the bottom. Is sump guard enough to tackle the occasionally hitting from the ground.will that cause major damages.
    3. How much weight can the bike take so that the suspension is not affected

    • @riderstrail
      @riderstrail  Před 6 měsíci

First of all thanks for your question 🙏
1 ans I always say all the gears all the time. So if you are on Bike and spl a higher cc engine like sm 650 it does definitely heat so wearing long pants and good shoes is a must.
2nd ans Ground clearance is low well it has a 130 mm ground clearance which is not bad and not so good as compared with the other bikes it's a cruiser so it has a lower ground clearance to maintain one physics law of gravity so it does not topple while you are writing because it has wait and length so only while riding it's silencer touches the ground if there is any higher speed bump rest there is no problem.
3rd will let me tell you clearly the more weight the bike is more stable so there is nothing that we can only put a certain weight on it but the maximum you can you carry 100 kg behind you more than that would be a trouble for you even for handling and riding.
Hope I have given you a satisfactory answer for your queries thank you and welcome to the Riderstrail

Not 9nly chain sprocket but also the fuel gauge is wonky. The srvice mechanics are not trained in electronics & hence hv no clue how to set it right. The fuel guage doesnit show correct fuel level

Sir I wanted to know how did you deal with the service center? I asked my near service center about the chain sprocket issue and I have seen many riders stating they got it replaced for free from company same like you. But service center here bluntly said on my face "Yahan kuchh free me nhi hota" and "Aap dhang see gaadi chalaaoge to aesa kuchh issue nhi aayeg YT me sabhko bewakoof banate hein" I said mai bike ko 80-90 me rakhta hun max mushkil see 100-110km\h 2-3 baar try kiya hog to bolte hain aesa hai to aap 60-70 pe chalaao fir yahan kuchh update nhi hai hume and free me kuchh nhhi hoga idhar.

This has just made me disheartened. My cbr250r hasn’t had a single issue in 8 years. Chain or chain sprocket is good as new at 40k kms.
I was thinking to getting the shotgun and now this makes me nervous.
Should these bikes be more reliable after all you are spending so much money on them.

@@riderstrail it doesn’t matter if it’s a 500kg machine or a 1000kg machine, it has been tested for thousands of kms and still these issues persist. After spending 4 lakhs, why should be there a single visit to service station with these problems.
What are they testing anyway, and how come Japanese brands don’t have these issues, are they from other planet. I really like RE and what they stand for, but these things shouldn’t happen, first lot or not.
