0:00 Intro
0:05 The technician said this was on a Chrysler (didn't mention model). However, as mentioned the technician removed the Weave (hair) and the vehicle no longer had a burning smell.
0:21 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. This just happened yesterday (the day before this is posted), and the viewer who shared this clip is not sure why/how this happened yet. I will give you guys an update if I get one.
0:31 Ford Transit (didn't mention what year). The customer was mad and wanted Ford or the dealer to do something in regards to their iPhone 6 breaking when they closed the door.
0:41 Why it's important to not overtighten drain plugs/torque them to manufacturer spec.
0:53 The technician said it was a bottom-end knock that he heard. He is not sure of the exact issue as GM wanted to take apart the engine themselves and investigate the issue.
1:11 The technician said: "It seems we may have an answer to the mystery. The customer has fessed up to adding Blue Devil stop-leak to the engine. I've only heard good things about Blue Devil, so I suspect he may not have followed the directions properly. My recollection of using it is that you have to drain the system, remove the t-stat, flush the system with water, drain again, install water inlet/outlet sans t-stat, fill with water and sealer, run for 15 minutes, drain/flush again with water, THEN put the t-stat back in fill with the proper coolant. I think he may have just dumped it in and this is the reaction of the sealer with coolant."
The truck also has 250000 miles / 402336 kilometres on it.
1:36 The technician said: "Funny enough I've had 2021 & 2022 variants of this 2.0L engine in my shop with under 2000 miles on them. Pistons completely melted, spun rods, dropped valves, you name it. These are the worst engines currently in production."
The 2019 Q7 comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
1:55 What you see is the piston is out of the brake caliper, and it's leaking brake fluid everywhere and that's why the brake pedal is soft.
2:06 The technician said: "This was last year, but if I remember one of the modules was fried I think but I couldn't tell ya which one."
2:18 Blue goes to blue, and red goes to red. The customer reversed the polarity so that's why it still works but does the opposite.
2:25 This is a common issue on Honda Pilots. You can repair this but it will cost a good amount as the rusted spots need to be cut out, and metal brackets welded in place. The technician said this is what they will be doing on this customer's vehicle.
What you see as well, is the rear subframe that is dropped down, so it would definitely have quite the vibration while driving.
2:40 Negative camber refers to the angle placement of the wheel in a way that the bottom is further out than the top of it.
2:50 The technician said: "2018 Ford F-150. As stated customer was complaining about a clicking noise. Once I got in I had an idea right away what it was. Showed the customer they laughed and was pretty sure a tech for their construction equipment was messing with him since driving to work it was fine to the dealership was when he noticed the noise."
3:08 Oil wasn't at rocker arms, was fine on 2nd start-up.

Hey, I am a huge fan and have been watching for quite a while! I see that you have added technician descriptions to the chapters of the video. It would be awesome if you could add those descriptions to either side of the video, or somewhere on the bottom of the screen so a person could pause the video and see what is being shown on screen. I can’t see the chapter descriptions on my smart tv and that’s usually where we watch. I’m pretty new to cars and don’t know a whole lot, but these videos do teach me a lot. The descriptions would help a ton
I'm glad the Honda owner agreed to the repairs to their suspension - the amount of "customer declined all further work" that we normally hear on this channel is terrifying!
One thing to consider with at least some of the declines is the customer considering junking the cars rather then pay for repairs. Although with my mechanic it would be a cost/benefit conversation and the option of junking it would discussed. But that's just me.
The thing about Hondas is that they're worth the repair cost because they break so rarely. I've only had to replace the suspension on my 2009 Honda so far (and, yes, the battery, brake pads, and discs, but that's routine maintenance) and I've owned it from new.
One of the things about driving shit heaps like the ones featured on this channel is that people cannot afford to repair them. If my vehicle had any of the crazy suspension damage we see here often it would be going straight to the salvage yard.
I had a 1997 Honda Prelude that I bought as a "grey import" in 2005. It was the top of the range model that was never officially imported I to the UK, so mine was a Japanese spec one that was privately imported and converted to UK spec. Probably the best car I've ever owned, and I only sold it when I moved into the centre of London and didn't need a car any more.
@@lucycooper9149 Indeed, I have a 2001 Honda and apart from a brand new exhaust this year (seriously, the whole damn thing started leaking!) it's only had the same routine stuff. Owned it for 4 years now and only this past week has it needed to go in the garage for a new wheel bearing (I think).

I once took a cowbell and put the clapper on a spring. I then mounted the bell upside down on top of the transmission cross member and sprayed undercoating to hide it. fast forward 7 years later and I ended up with this vehicle, former owner (friend) made the comment that every once in a while he would hear a bell ring but could never find it. It was still there after all these years (I had forgotten all about it lol)
Was a glass shop next to ours. Customer brought a car in to have the broken side window replaced and said the car makes a thumping sound. They brought the car to us and were going to replace the window there. One of our guys took the trim panel off and found a rubber hammer in the door. The zip-ties on the drive shaft reminds me of how we used to use clothes pins to hold playing cards to the rear forks of ours bikes. The card would slap against the wheel spokes and we imagined it as a motorcycle sound.
we used plastic bottles xdd
I had something similar to that last clip happen to me after doing replacement cylinder heads on an Outback I bought/flipped (previous owner didn’t replace the timing belt, so it broke, bent several valves and I bought it from them for $200). I’m a pro mechanic and I’ve done dozens of head gaskets on Subarus. I started the car up for the first time, and there was a knocking noise. I nearly laid an egg. What I didn’t realize was that it was the vehicle hoist making the noise. I hadn’t fully lowered the car to the ground, and there was just enough of the vehicle weight on the hoist that the vibration as the engine started rocked the hoist just enough for it to knock around a little. Once I lowered the car, the noise was gone. Ended up making like a $2500 profit on that car.
I had the same thing happen to me when I did my first engine when I worked at Ford. As an apprentice that had me shook at first lol
Lol! I wish I could have seen your face.
Good job using your head instead of just replacing 2-3 more parts or re-doing everything like most of us would do. Deductive reasoning
If you didn't grow up around mechanics but you want to be one what should you do for the education aspect? On my 2nd year working on cars but the biggest job I've ever done is a wheel bearing and helping a guy swap out his rear diff. Is there a quick program that is recommended over the other? I got my 1st ASE cert in brakes in June, the A5, but my boss had a book of brakes for me to read over and over again and then I just did 50 practice tests online before scheduling the test. But like how the hell am I really gonna learn how to do engine and transmission work? Would a community college teach it?
@@Derek_Wyld I took a vocational course at a nearby college and it was worth it. But it was much cheaper 20 years ago.
The guy who did the home wiring job should make bombs.
"Cut the red wire"
"which one"
"Cut the blue wire"
"which one"
"How many wires are there"

Back in the '70s I saw that same sort of "creative wiring" a few times with CB radio installations. The CB would have a reverse-polarity protection diode hooked up across the 12-volt input; hook it up backwards, the diode conducts and fuse goes _pop!_ Until (of course) someone sticks in a higher-rated fuse and the diode shorts itself permanently. I traced one guy's wiring from the dash, through the firewall, and there in the engine compartment was the black wire spliced to red. 😁

The old zip tie to the drive shaft never fails.
New tires every 5 weeks? I guess that they never thought to just have the wheels aligned!
That's negative camber for you. 4 years on the same times for us and they're still fine 😅
When you drive around on the sidewalls, trying to look cool, you pay the price of fast tire/sidewall wear. Alignment won’t help. Common sense will
The customer very propably wants to keep the negative camber because he thinks it looks cool. You can determine this also by looking at the tires being way too narrow for the wheels. So no, you're very propably wrong. It's not about not knowing about alignment.

That clip with the wipers reminds me there was one truck (Militarized Steyr 90) in our admin troop that if shifted into reverse, the lights and horn would go crazy. The times they had to pull into a proper hide they'd have to get the ARV to clear out the trees or rocks or whatever was around so they could drive straight out. Never really did hear back about what it was but I know they retired all those trucks pretty soon after.
The wipers thing in the clip may actually be a feature of the BCM that should was programmed wrong.
The missus has a Ford Territory (Australian 5-7 seater SUV) if the front wipers are on (or in auto mode) the rear wiper will go when you shift into reverse.
I'm assuming the vehicle in the clip is some sort of truck and probably does not have rear wipers, but the BCM of most modern cars is programable, so it may just be that the 'turn on wiper in reverse' toggle was set to the front wiper output.

@@volvo09 Only excuse I can think of is if they were possibly colourblind.
@@HesmiyuMC It's a theory, although true monochromacy is very rare. Red-green is the most common, and blue-yellow is less so. None of the variations should result in being unable to tell the difference between red and blue, particularly when they're fairly vivid colors (like those wires). Maybe his wife told him no more fscking around with the car, take it and get it fixed right.
@@JCWren If they really were colorblind, based on the otherwise good job they did, you would think that it would occur to them that maybe they got the wires crossed?
My first head gasket job I forgot to mark the distributor and put it back in 90⁰ out.
I learned a lesson that day. 😆
The LOOK on the face of the last clip.. PRICELESS..
I always enjoy watching your channel. These are all 😂😂😂😂😂😂. The one with the phone doesn’t deserve a car or phone, there’s an ole saying must’ve fell out of the well on the head. Can’t wait until the next 🤣🤣🤣🤣, keep’m coming
Thanks, James!!
"Fell out of the Stupid Tree & hit all the branches on the way down."
More great clips love them. I'm still here still watching im a little busy with my 1983 olds delta 88 converting the 6.0 ls v8 into a carburetor run unit not fuel injected.
Thanks, Tyler! Would love to see a clip of it when it's done.
@@JustRolledIn I hope to send it in sooner or later, only problem is trying to keep my daily car running and save up for the parts for the olds. Just had to put a $1700 complete exhaust on my daily, a gmc terrain. There goes the mag wheels I saved up for lol
That red VW atr the end looks beautiful!
Oh no!!! It's the dreaded Road-Weave!!!
I can't believe how many times I've seen those. LOL
OK, Is it not customary to coat the rocker arms with first start grease to give some lubrication until the oil reaches?
You put assembly lube on all contact points of moving parts, and disable the ignition/ fuel system and turn the engine over until you get oil pressure prior to starting if you have done major repairs or a new build.
@@rsoul7282 Thanks Assembly Lube. I could not remember the name.
I would use Camshaft prelube and or. GM EOS. Engine oil supplement. It's thick like STP. Precharge the oil filter if possible.
did the first guy run over someone lol
Not from what I was told. 😆
I had bought a brand new Volkswagen Golf that was great for the first couple of weeks. Then it suddenly started honking the horn every time I put it in reverse. I took it to the dealership and they told me I was crazy and that that couldn’t happen. It took it in three times before it finally did it in front of them. I got so excited that I jumped out shouting at them with it still in gear!
Can always count on great content in here 👌😎
Somebody in the hood sad about that weave
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonder if she was wearing it when it got wrapped up...
I love the smell of burning tumble-weave in the morning.
I’m going to just watch cause there’s nothing to say anymore I’ll let it go from there
Love the new head gasket job! Oh well, now time for a new head
The little S-cargo on the end screen made me so happy
Bro ran over a tumbleweave.
Like the old school celica
Great video as always. 👍
The guy with tie straps got hit on a construction site by one of his buddies lol oldest trick in the book
3:10 The face of fear 😂😂
Not gonna lie, that zip tie trick is funny.
0:47 some people think that every nut and bolt are meant to be tightened until you are physically unable to apply any more force
I hope that weave wasn't attached to someone when it met that axle 😳🤯
great video as always💪
Keep up the good work😎👍
(I think I'd prefer that bike. 🥰 It has been a while, and I think a few days too a week cruising would help me out ☺️)
1:39 ...in Europe, this 2.0L TFSI is known rather for durability, people extract enormous power from it.
Isn’t it known for burning a lot of oil tho?
@@djdiheheidifhdhdje261
Thats also true, 1.8 and 2.0 are known for high oil consumption bc of low friction piston rings. Many of these needed opening the engine already on very low mileage.
But the internals are exceptionally strong.
UNBEWEAVABLE...
😆😆
The zip ties on the driveshaft prank reminds me of a post I saw somewhere about a guy came in for a weird noise when he was driving.
His friends zip tied a harmonica somewhere under the hood.
@2:08 those international trucks have a lot of wiring problem, I drove a few where the wipers activate when shifting gears lol
