Simple answer, turn on right blinker and head to the side of the road, stop without slamming, and turn on hazards... It's easy as long as you do not panic
I faced a similar situation when I was at a speed of around 120 KM/hr. I applied moderately strong brakes to stop in around 4-5 seconds while long pressing the horn continuously so that others get attentive about something going wrong. I ultimately stopped without any hit, turned on hazard lights, quickly cleared windshield & restarted my journey. 😊
I concur your action. Just in case I am that unlucky to meet an idiot driver who does an e-brake after noticing object flying off it's trunk. Breaking slowly might be dangerous.
"The car behind may not stop in time if you break," then they'd be at fault for not leaving a safe enough distance to account for an emergency. Something hits your winscreen and prevents all visibility you stop immediately.
@@vitoriangamer7807the rule is general 3 seconds worth of wiggle room for you to react, 5-6 on the highway. If you can’t react in 3 seconds, then you should not be a driver.

This literally happened to me and my bestfriend while he was driving. The hood of the car flew back and cover the whole windshield while we were in the passing lane and he had to use the rear and side mirrors to get to the shoulder. We pretty lucky to have been alive
Brake gently, but if you can't see, you need to be quite quick. Use the hazard lights. Pulling over only if safe. Remember, you can't see what is in front of you. Hope that other cars can see your problem and help guide you to a safe stop quickly.
This happened to my mom a trash bag blocked the front windshield and she ended up crashing 60mph into traffic on a freeway doctor's are surprised she can still walk
@@andreinaumkin9253 my car has a roll down window only. Still it will be faster to half open the window than follow all these steps. Rolling down window can be done surprisingly quickly if you really want it.
Happened when i went out with my dad, his girlfriend and son, and my sister with her son. The front trunk lid opened while we were on the highway, crashed the front windshield and blocked our front view. While i started to feel the adrenaline because of the sudden impact on the windshield and the cars getting ahead of us, my dad used all the mirrors to move safely to the side and then tie up the trunk lid so it doesnt open again (the windshield still suffered a lot of damage)
Honestly it depends on the situation if there is an emergency stopping lane next to you, you should go into it straight away with your hazards on. If you are in a middle lane the safest thing you can do is turn your hazards on and come to a slow stop while still in that lane. You can then carefully fish the object off your window before continuing. If by pure bad luck you can't get it off and you aren't in a emergency stop lane, call either your car insurance or any other road side assistance they can help you. In some cases the police can help you. Just what ever you do, do not get out of the flipping car.
Guys, you won't hit anything in front of you if you slow down. You can use the road lane as reference for the emergency lane spot. Hitting the brake so suddenly, especially on high way would only spell for accident!!!!
I had experienced something like that somewhere in France, my bonnet opened and hit my windshield. it was night and no traffic lights. It was pitch dark and luckily I had a damaged car so I drove slowly to the guardrail. I was overtaking a truck and I couldn't see it anymore. The best option is to let off the gas and turn on the warning light and stick your head out of the window so that you can see the white line and then slowly pull over 😊 Mirroring is of no use in the dark, believe me 😀😃
Stopping shouldn’t cause a rear end collision because you have to be within stopping distance of every car in front of you, if you hit a car that’s stopping you’re liable not the one you hit.
@vitoriangamer7807 please never drive if you don't understand its upto you to keep a proper distance from the guy infront of you. If a obstacle suddenly enters the road and I stop but you hit me it's your fault
@vitoriangamer7807 think about it like this if a kid, person, animal, or another car comes out infront of me should I A slam into it B stop and have you slam into me C we both stop then continue on our way with no damage

If you see and object coming towards you and think it may cover your windshield dont wait till it does then pull over quickly try and see if there's a place to pull over to try and prevent it from hitting your car...or heck if it does hit your windshield before you had time to react just look out the window to see until you could pull over and remove it from your windshield
Actually you can brake because if the car behind collides into your rear then it would be their problem for not keeping a safe distance. So ppl dont be afraid to brake suddenly to avoid an accident.
My mom front bumper opened and blocked her view, instead of panicking and hit the breaks, she turned on the emergency signal so that people would see that she's in an emergency and slow down for her. She looked through the gaps to see the road. This was on a highway.
The thing is, if I can’t see and crash to the car in front I’m more liable for damages than if I brake too hard and the car behind hits me. Sure this is a kind method, but now I’m taking the brunt of the risk in both potential collisions and financial burden
i had this happen once, i'd recently had a front end collision and unknown to me my hood was not secure and it flew up on the highway. fortunately i was already in the rightmost lane so i could easily move over onto the shoulder
You can use 360 cam of ur car with shortcut button or u can lift foot from gas pedal which will not further accelerate and slowly apply brake or put ur head out of window to see forward
Before any of that push diwn the clutch half way and get the parking brake up in 2nd notch.. now look at the mirror and move out. With safer cars on the road today this will ensure no abrupt stop.
