Yet states like mine where 80 percent of the population own more than 2 guns and we only have 160 homicides per year, around 70 of which are shootings. How come our country is doomed? I'd rather we learn to treat everyone kindly and be on the lookout for each other so that nobody ever feels that they have to take such horrible actions in their life. People want to have stricter gun control while still letting social health spiral out of control. @@Fearsialike the other person above my comment said, they’re right. And, every teacher has a plan and wouldn’t just let their kids WAIT for their deaths. In a realistic situation, those teachers would be doing everything they could to get those kids the fuck outta there. I’ve had teachers tell me this specifically to my face. They all have a plan. Some even have concealed carry permits (no teacher is allowed to speak about if they have theirs or not) so in the case of an emergency, they have a gun.

    • @Fearsia
      @Fearsia Před 24 dny +1

      @@iiButterflyii1 the reason we're taught to stay in the classrooms is because you never know how many shooters/threats there are, or not always where they are. It's also possible the school has been locked down by the shooter, ie doors chained, etc.
      I only graduated in 2020, I know things have gotten more extreme since then but I still remember what it's like. We even went into a lockdown one time when I was in 4th grade because a parent came with a shotgun to the highschool, there were two of them. I remember seeing a figure walk past the window as we all huddled in the dark out of sight of the door window (this was before they began keeping them covered) as our teacher silently used his phone to text other faculty members trying to stay up to date while we all remained silent.
      Another time that same year during a drill I was in the bathroom when it started and I remember the staff walking the halls checking everything getting mad at me for being out of a classroom and escorted me to mine.
      Obviously getting everyone out would be ideal but in a real situation it can be the worst thing to try to do.

      The problem with solving the issue is that we know the second the government takes away any minimal chance people have at fighting back with gun control it’s pretty much all over. They are already purposefully making it so we can’t afford the basic necessities and being homeless is soon to be a federal crime. Prisons and jails are just used as slave labor and we have next to no way to defend ourselves. Some people think the only way to even show that we tried to put up a fight (or those delusional enough to think we’d win) demand access to guns. If they have access to guns then others do as well.
      Plus with the government actively hiring people or making it easy for them to shoot up schools. We’ve had a few where the police did NOTHING and just let the shooter continue on. America is practically a third world country economically at this point besides the wealthy skewing the data.
