Probably who made the video thought the kid was doing a great job.
When they’re like that in the field you aren’t as concerned about being rough as they’re already probably dead…. That being said, indicating a mannequin is nothing like a real person.
also, paramedics don’t intubate that much. Many have minimal experience… the people who intubate most frequently are people who give anesthesia in hospitals. They do it routinely multiple times every day as part of their work day.
Yeah uhh this is impressive that he knows the routine already, but intubating this rough is a great way to puncture something. I’m sure there’s different resistance on a plastic dummy, but two hand shoving the tube and stylet down the throat like that is never a good idea and not good practice

You’re supposed to be fast and efficient the human body is a lot more tolerable than what you’re given credit for give the boy a break
Fulcruming on the teeth, eyes off the cords with beans and beer in there, not inflating the cuff (especially before pulling that boogie). . . Ok. 😅 Boogie is a two-person technique. When it’s 3 am on hour 15 of a busy 12 hour turned 18 hour shift and you’re in the trauma bay and the ER doc’s asking “DID YOU SEE THE TUBE PASS THROUGH THE CORDS?” He would have to say “NO.”
Even still, confidence at this age is important. If he doesn’t get arrogant & stays teachable in 6 years who knows where he’ll be! Probably teaching with humility & expertise. ❤️
When kids understand that real life, is more important than their social media presence 🤘

this is decent for a kid but this would literally bust out all of the dude’s teeth and severely fuck up his airway from mechanical damage. also he let go of it which can’t guarantee that he’s in the trachea instead of the esophagus. also he just over hyperventilated the patient at the end which could pop a lung and won’t provide much oxygen 😭😂
@@Rose-mg5eqto add he didn’t inflate the cuff so the pt will probably vomit and choke on it
Actual professional here.
For a kid, great job.
If I were to do this tomorrow at work I’d have a huge lawsuit, he used the top teeth as a fulcrum, and the laryngoscope would have broken all of them. He let go of the bougie, meaning he can no longer know for sure he still is in the cords. He attached a bvm without confirming endtidal or lung sounds, and his bagging was aggressive and hyperventilating the patient, which would likely cause barotrauma.
Good job kid. You got a start, just refine your skills and you’ll be a paragod.
Edit: he also forgot to inflate the balloon. That’s kinda important
To the average person it sounds like your making stuff up 😂

@@unis_aaliyahmaybe it doesn't look the best (I def have no clue) that's not the point. The point is that this 12 year old is already excited about a future career, so much that he's _already_ training, and will be 6 years ahead of his future peers. They are encouraging him.
@@gingerleamcwow435the point is that if you encourage this without giving him corrections then you have prioritized the ego of someone responsible for someone’s LIFE. There is absolutely no issue with this comment. Kids need encouragement AND correction. They literally clarified at the start that it was great for a kid. But they made it clear that he needs to be given those corrections as well. I mean seriously right now, do you want your doctor to be QUALIFIED or coddled? It’s not an easy field, you’re literally in charge of other peoples lives. If the 12 year old can’t handle tips on how to do it better then they won’t make it into the medical field, so maybe it’s time to realize the world can’t be as sensitive and coddling as you want it to be. The commentor is literally just pointing out that while he’s got skill, he has skill for someone at age 12. It needs to be modified, because what we currently call skill will turn into a malpractice suit if it stays exactly the same. Is it getting into your head at all? You can encourage and correct someone without the experience being negative. Also, I’m sure the kid isn’t reading every single comment. This comment is directed more towards the people who are watching him and teaching him.
