0:00 Intro
0:05 The battery on a Dodge Charger is in the trunk, that's why you see
the battery cable underneath the carpet. They got lucky it didn't damage the wiring harness as that would have been an even more expensive fix. Usually to replace that harness you'd have to remove everything from the interior as well they're lucky it didn't spark and cause a fire.
0:19 That's the oil pan that is smashed into pieces on this car. So that vehicle will need a new engine and whatever else was damaged on that vehicle.
0:32 No extra info from the technician. However, that is definitely not the way to do any sort of wiring, especially with staples in the fuel tank.
0:55 I asked the technician some more questions and this is what he said: "2015 hellcat, trans was brand new with 18 miles on it. Was warranty swapped from the dealer but the vehicle was stolen after being dropped back off at the dealer when the owner said it still wasnât right. Turns out the trans gave out during the police chase at 170+ mph."
1:11 The technician said he's never seen this before working at Toyota. He said he thinks it might have been a manufacturer defect from the factory, but just now it broke. What you see in the clip is the fan + hub that bolts onto the water pump, which damaged the fan and fan shroud as well.
1:36 Unfortunately for the customer they got screwed over on this vehicle, but this is why it's important to get a pre-purchase inspection.
The technician also mentioned it looked like they tried to hide the hole in the transmission with some JB weld, but it didn't work. Also, some bolts for the transmission pan were sheared off.
The transmission mount most likely was broken when it was in an accident.
2:02 The viewer who sent it in said the following: "Actually really cool story. The customer's son is an adult with special needs and this was his pet.
He fell asleep in the car with the snake around him where it usually stays and when he woke up it was gone. The customer had dropped the car off originally for an oil change but asked us to see if we could spot the snake.
My assistant manager and I spent almost 3 hours tearing the car apart to find it and my assistant decided at the last minute to check under the center console. There the snake was wrapped in a ball around the shifter assembly. We originally weren't sure the snake had survived as it was only about 40 degrees Fahrenheit the night before. After removing the snake my assistant kept it In His jacket for over an hour until it started moving again. Needless to say really happy customers and we all felt great that it worked out for the best."
2:13 KIA Sportage. These KIA's have a lot of engine issues and recalls for certain engines. More info here - bit.ly/3P4Y3Pc
2:26 No extra info from tech. but this seems to be a very common issue on the new Ford Bronco's. I haven't heard of a recall at the time this video is posted but I'm sure there will be in the future.
2:38 Easy find for the technician!
2:46 2017 VW Passat. No extra info.
2:57 A very modified 1952 Chevy 3100 series. (Wanted to add more regarding this truck but can't add more due character limit in description).

Or at least a test drive.....
and if the owner refuses to allow you the inspection. walk away.
Do I get the pre-purchase inspection before or after I buy it?
Post mortem , not post purchase in these cases.
I want everyone to take a moment and step back from what is stressing them out. If you would NEVER have thought to send staples into your fuel tank, your life is ALWAYS going to be better than someone who would.
Only thing I can imagine is it was installed by a computer nerd or a carpenter......
Did anyone notice the Orange high voltage cables? I'm glad that the person installing the underglow LED lights didn't staple them to the HV cable.
And here I was certain your comment was going to tell me to buy crypto from Mr Goerge Soros, or some similar nonsense.
@@tinknal6449 No kind of nerd would do this haha.

After removing the snake my assistant kept it In His jacket for over an hour until it started moving again. Needless to say really happy customers and we all felt great that it worked out for the best."
Sure, it's a harmless snake like most snakes, but still, I love that the tech kept it in his jacket so long, warmed it up and everyone was so happy! Great work!
I had a buddy that rescued a lost snake on a cold day, did the same thing. Apparently the snake was very content with the arrangement, recovered just fine
My assistant that held the snake said it was one of the best days he had ever had at work lol.
As a breeder of the species in question, I often have a bra snake! They will just curl up and take a nap in your shirt, bra, or around your neck. If they can leach body heat, they will do so! But once I got banned from a Wendyâs for forgetting about my bra snake and causing a cashier to faint when he stuck his head out. Was moving and had been cleaning his cage and forgot he was in there.

Ever search for your glasses on your head or collar? It's all about where you're expecting to or not to see it .
Its the straw in the throttle body for me
Yeah a guy I used to know asked me if I had something to cover the oil filler hole after he lost the oil filler cap, he went off to find something to fill the hole and I then asked him if this would do, finding the original oil cap not far from where it should be fitted.
@@carpediemarts705 Used to know a guy who wanted a wire brush, we looked everywhere in the workshop and couldn't find it, he went to scratch his head and that's where we found the wire brush all caught in his long hair.
And why go to a mechanic when you can just go to an auto parts store?
I see they stapled the fuel tank for a slow death instead of stapling the orange wire for a quick death.
đ
I had the same thought when I saw that.

This channel accurately demonstrates that if you make something idiot proof, they will come out with a new and improved idiot.

Holy crap, this was a spicy one, never ceased to be flabbergasted with some of this footage lol. That Screw/ Bolt penetration was a nearly one in a million shot, wow.

We had a rat die in our car. Didn't know until it started smelling bad. The body shop that took the interior apart and removed the dead rat, they REALLY went above and beyond.

I inspected a semi-truck & trailer and 8/10 nuts were loose on each wheel of one axle on the trailer. One of the rims was also significantly bent on the same axle. He said something along the lines of, "Oh yeah, I thought I ran something over about an hour ago."
Might have been from OKC. The I40 through Oklahoma City has some BAD potholes. I'm talking bad enough I thought the semi I was in would lose a steer tire.
It was lowered.
A manhole cover took out a car in front of where I work.
They were repaving so the cover was up two inches.
On lowered vehicles a possum can total the car.

This is why pre-purchase inspections are very important.
Side note, that truck in the last clip is actually pretty sick, ngl
How do you staple a wire, into a GAS TANK, and not question if youâre doing it right or not?
As good old George Carlin said "think of how dumb the average person is, and then imagine that half of them are dumber than that".
Likely didn't know that was the gas tank. Looks like it was installed by a slum-tier home decorator.

25 years ago, I had an 8' Columbian Boa Contrictor and I took her out one night. I put her in a pillow case (tied it closed) and into the trunk of my 79 Monte. When I got to where I was going, I opened the trunk and she wasn't in there. She found a small hole in the pillow case seam and exploited it. love that last truck and its hood lift. Had an idea like that but the whole hood and panels opened up wide to make it easier to work on.
Jaguar E-type, the whole hood and fenders tilted forward together, it was really cool.
1960s era Jaguar E type and triumph spitfire has a one piece hood and fender hinged forward. The spitfire you could sit on the tire and do a tuneup
I used to have a Saab 95. The hood opened forward and if you squeezed inward on the hinges it came off entirely. Then undo two bolts and disconnect the headlight connectors and you could take the whole grille off.
Like the truck at the end!
2:57 now thats awsome!
You know, when I first started watching these videos, I'd sit here thinking "Uh-huh... Yep, seen something like that before...", but I swear, lately the things I'm seeing are making me question every car I see on the road... Stapling... Your gas tank... Oh and hey let's throw in some melty probably unfused wires in the mix!
If someone stapled something to the fuel tank, I'd refuse to work on their vehicle until it was removed and the damage is repaired. That is a huge hazard, it could leak and I could see a spark happening if one of the wires loses its insulation
Or, you could just disconnect those wires from their power source first...
@@SepticFuddy that doesn't solve the potential leaking and future shorting
@@magna116 The issue I'm talking about is unrelated to the repairs they came in for. It's a liability and the hazard should be fixed before other stuff is worked on. My point is that it's a danger to everyone else on the road.

Iâve got a light bar and ditch lights on my truck. Iâm a little embarrassed because I have some extra harness near the relays and used some crimps in one place because it was too tight to solder. Everything else is solder heat shrinked and run thru loom and zip tied up against the fire wall. I canât believe more of these wiring jobs donât cause fire. Between the sloppiness and you know theyâre not doing the math for wire gauge.
Actually crimps are better than solder in automotive wire harnesses. The soldered area becomes very stiff and so bending stress is concentrated right at the point where the solder ends, leading to broken wires over time. OEM wire harnesses use no solder.
@@mckenziekeith7434 did not know that. Thanks for the info.In your opinion would solder me a better choice on exposed wiring. Like outside the engine bay. I live in the salt belt so anything not water tight with corrode and fail.
@@leadpilled5567 I think I would use waterproof heatshrink butt connectors. There are some that you crimp, then heatshrink, and there are others that you don't crimp, but they contain just the right amount of low-temp solder that they form a solder joint at the same time you heat shrink them. Both are supposed to be waterproof. I think the solder connectors might be OK because the amount of solder is controlled. Hopefully it does not wick far enough up the wire to create a stress point. Soldering is OK if you are able to completely prevent the wire from bending in the area where solder is.
