      How is this small government? When ppl say small government they mean less power the government will have on the daily lives. All this is doing is giving the same amount of power to a smaller number of ppl. Very different things.

      Bull#$%@. A transparent gov't is good gov't. When You can see where all the taxpayers money is being spent. It has nothing to do with small, or big. When You have 4 million people in Toronto and less councillors that means when You have a problem and need to see a councillor, You will have to wait a long bloody time, if You will ever get a meeting. So, sure keep cutting services, or shooting yourself in the foot, if that's what You like lol

    Liptards made so much chaos, and no one complained. Liptards did whatever they want and destroyed Canada, but reporters and the t.v. stations never asked questions or reported.
    Now Premier Doug FORD is helping the Canadians to save money. And making Ontario better again, Toronto better again. We support you Doug Ford!!

      No, $23 Million is if you fired the entire council including the mayor. So again, Dougie really isn’t telling the whole truth here. This savings barely makes a dent. Dougie needs to concentrate of governing the province.

      when the last reform happened it was done by the province, so this probably is a provincial thing, otherwise Rob would have done it, like he talked about when he was Mayor.

    • @CarolMinnich
      @CarolMinnich Před 6 lety +2

      John Q Taxpayer - the problem is that 44 [or 47] Council Members can't agree to actually DO ANYTHING.
      They just do study's and more study's and more pilot projects and after all that then they still can't agree on ANYTHING....and after all that, NOTHING moves forward. Hence, Line 1 is the Only North-South Subway line. We've needed another one for 15 years, but they STILL can't figure out where to put it. When the Eglinton LRT is completed and operational, it will be bedlam at the Line 1 Eglinton stop. So many people will be pouring into trains at Eglinton that anyone who thinks they're commuting to downtown from Davisville, St. Claire, or any stop south of Eglinton, can kiss that idea goodbye. They'll wait for 6 trains at rush hour if they're lucky. Doug is right. 44 people is far too many to actually 'make any decisions' and proceed.

    • @MBaker-cq8cs
      @MBaker-cq8cs Před 6 lety +1

      That's not true Carol. That's what Doug Ford wants you to believe. City council will debate & study & rightfully so. The reason why Doug Ford is feeding you lies about council not being able to get things done is because he wasn't well liked by most council members & because of that HE couldn't get things passed. This is for sure a way of him making it easier to get what he wants from the city. Just like his tactic for Hydro. He wanted to fire the Hydro board so he can hire a new one that will do as he asks in firing the CEO. He made his original intention perfectly clear. He found a different way around it but replacing boards/council to work in his favour is what he does. No ifs, ands or buts about it!

    These cuts will fund Sanctuary City s REFUGEE housing. Council should be grateful someone is finding funding for their expensive policies. Tory needs to donate half his salary towards Sanctuary cityS housing. Ford needs to cut the mayor's salary next.

    I could tell u that you're wrong baker but then we would just be giving each other opinions not facts... At the end of the day I agree with Doug Ford.. I've agreed with everything that he stands for and cutting city council. Too many opinions at city hall.. The mayor will have more power and it the voters don't like the policies they can vote a new one in... As for Ford creating this policy out of spite maybe that's true but he's been talking about this for years... Thats life.. I'm having with the change and I'm happy with the Premier working quickly on changing policies.

      @andyjiao3114 Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks for the additional information, genuinely. I have been a student here, so it's true that I haven't paid much taxes. I know that taxes are very high in Toronto, but it is almost high everywhere. If it is the freeloading servants that are the problem, an alternative option would be to replace the servants. There is almost no direct evidence that those servants are simple or freeloading or who bribes. It would be nice if someone actually presented evidence of any of these things, because then people would listen, so it doesn't have to be part of imagination or opinion, but be something genuinely discussed. Change is necessary always, because it is change forward that gives meaning. But that Ford isn't replying to any of the questions in a satisfactory manner is also worrying. I am disappointed that when I asked a genuine question here I get blasted with so much hate. I hope you can consider what I said.

American politics has no place in Canada and if less government ends up like any American model we are in big deep $hit.
