How Toronto’s city council compares to other cities

Premier Doug Ford repeatedly compared Toronto’s city council to that of Los Angeles’ when announcing plans to cut the numbers of council seats from 47 to 25. So how does city council compare to other cities? Tina Yazdani reports.

Yes they do. Added bike lanes, improved pedestrian safety with street burms/red light cameras, improved our parks, etc

Yup but those councillors also represent the city at large at city hall. Whereas the community councillors in LA and New York only work within their communities.

That's the point of city hall. It''s to keep parks clean, roads paved, the water running, and libraries open. No news is good news.
