- Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to "get Britain building" in the King's Speech.
The Prime Minister vowed to accelerate the delivery of more housing and infrastructure projects by changing existing planning laws - something that featured heavily in Labour's general election campaign.

The King's speech must be the voice of the government in power. I think it was easier for the monarch to read this speech than it has been to say the words "my government" over the past 14 years.

Our monarchy created democracy which was the blueprint for all democracies around the world, without the royal family we would live in something similar to a dictatorship. Be grateful that he exists.
