I actually met my first girlfriend through the geography now Facebook page back in 2016 (I think) and we dated for just over a year and a half. She was Filipina living in Iloilo. I’m happy for Malika and Raouf, glad to know geography does bring people together! Greta episode btw!

Hey Barb! Another cool fact about the Uzbek flag is that the alignment of the stars resemble the word "Allah" (God) in Arabic script 🇺🇿
It doesnt represent the name of Allah, the moon stands for Turkic resemble meanwhile 12 stars represent the 12 region of Uzbekistan pls dont spread misinformation

The episode was pretty cool but i wished you had more details of the nature, like naming more places like zaamin national park and ugam-chatkhal.
But either way, enjoyable.
I understand, We briefly showed a quick clip of all the 12 nature reserves/ national parks but it would take too long to get into each one. I wanted to focus more on how the ecology of the Aral sea affected the nation.

You know something. I read Uzbekistan flag in Wikipedia page a lot of time. I remembered that there was unofficial speculation that the 12 stars on Uzbek flag are arranged in such a way that visually they form the inscription Allah in Arabic script. Again, this is unofficial. Check out in the old edition in View History.
