These "blood of those who fight for the freedom" animation have gone so far that I had to return to the Afghanistan episode just to hear Barbs saying it normaly .

i backtacked and grows exponencially, and also there are some compilations videos about the animation part and are mostly short, there are not all the animations.
We actually have a joke in Austria, which is about the Latvian flag: Everytime you see a Austrian flag, you say that it's the Latvian flag, and when you see a Latvian flag, you say that it's the Austrian flag

I actually expected the flag portion to be 2 solid minutes of "blood of those who fight for the freedom" since it is all the flag is. Also note how the origin story of the Latvian flag is just so much more dramatic and melancholic than the Austrian one.
Austria: Some noble dude went full Rambo during the crusades and showed off his dirty shirt.
Latvia: While fighting off crusaders a great hero was mortally wounded. He bled out on a white sheet which was drenched in his blood but for the narrow stripe in the middle. His people carried that sheet into next battle and won.
To add to this: In Latvia it is required by law to fly the flag on every building for 9 specific days in a year. On five of those the flag is flown with an additional black ribbon as those days are days of mourning.
Oh and since Barby's joking commentary about flag plagiarism might be misleading:
The first reliable mentioning of the Austrian flag dates back to 1230 and supposedly recounts events from the very end of 12th century. The first mentioning of the Latvian flag dates back to 1270s and supposedly recounts events from the very beginning of the 13th century. So the flags are both basically equally old and their points of origin are separated by a few thousand kilometers.
The first instance of the Latvian flag was around 1180, could be later, which means it's actually older than the Austrian flag

I am Latvian and I am always surprised when somebody mentions potatoes as something special for Latvia. Yes, we eat potatoes, but I never noticed potatoes had some kind of cult status in Latvia, also Latvians have no jokes about potatoes (Though, I have seen some totally sick jokes on internet about potatoes that are claimed to be Latvian, but they are not, and most probably were invented by some sick person.)
So, can anybody explain me, where this potatoe thing come from?

Hey Paul, I’m Karen (that is ethnic group) originally from Burma and have its own state. But I was grow up in Thailand, refugee camp during Burma civil war. In fact, some Karen has settled from Burma to Thailand for centuries particularly in rural areas refer to as tribal group. But I don’t referred myself as Karen tribe instead Karen ethnic group because I was born in Karen State, Burma. That clothes you wear is very popular in Karen culture. Keep up the good work Paul!! Can’t wait to Myanmar and Thailand episode.

fun fact, the Latvian flag as used today was adopted in 1923, but variations of it have been used since the 13th century, which is centuries before the Austrians ever had a red-white-red flag, so i think what we should really be asking is : "Did Austria plagiarise the Latvian flag?"

If you're gonna invest in a new microphone, I'd suggest you get a directional mic people use for TV broadcasts and theater productions. Like the Countryman E6. I say this, because, you tend to move your head around a lot, and it kinda makes the volume go all over the place like this. Look into it, it's a bit of an investment but it will benefit you a lot!
Do Montenegro geography. It maybe is small country, but it has really old traditions and history. And its geography is so cool too! ON A SMALL AREA LIKE MONTENEGRO WE HAVE: MOUNTAINS, BIG RIVERS, SMALL RIVERS, SEE, PLAINS, HILLS, FORESTS AND THE CLIMATIC CONDITIONS ARE SOOOOOOO COOL TOO. Perhaps on the north of Montenegro we have like -30 degrees CELSIUS! But in the south in WINTER the temperatures are like +20 degrees. So please do this for my country. It is small but its interesting!
