We should never forget the lesson Ukraine has taught us and not repeat the mistakes that brought us to that mentality.

Amazing! Such clear, critical yet absolutely fair thoughts, put into words that literally anyone can understand. You have a talent to carry the truth to the masses who are often misinformed, blind and/or ignorant about what is really going on, who don't know what is a good way to deal with the dangers and calls of those extremely difficult and dangerous times we are currently living through.
Please keep your amazing work of talking with and to people, in order to help them shake off the idea, that if you simply put your head in the sand or just literally give away everything that a villain wants, that will bring no good to anyone, because the good and the justice needs to be strong and to be able to protect itself. It was like this for thousands of years and it will never change.

Thanks for your analysis. Never thought about it that way, but I'm an American who was absolutely appalled we were going to stand back and let this happen. (I'm still unhappy about abandoning Ukraine in 2014). It was a nightmare to witness, and a bigger nightmare to let it happen. I called my lawmakers daily, even 2x. I thought our country had lost its very soul of humanity. I realized people were upset about previous military engagements, but to allow this... it felt the like start of WWII, with countries sacrificing other countries for a peace that never could or would happen. And, "Never Again" rang hollow in my heart. We'd learned little from such recent history, and even less about authoritarianism, or the people who rule in that vein. Or how what seems small and "containable" so quickly can spiral into worldwide horror.
I feel Ukraine has saved us in so many ways, what you mentioned, but also the bigger identity of who we are as a people, what our values are, what indeed is civilization, do we mean all that talk about democracy or not, what is right and wrong, how we'll go down in history, what kind of world will we leave our children, and what was our place in it. I couldn't stop thinking about our own country's origin, and how desperately we needed support from France. Ukraine brought us a sense of unity in the world, working together for a common goal that's bigger than ourselves, how much more powerful are nations united than divided, that we don't have to sit back and let history happen, but can be a part of it - for better or for worse. That bad past experiences don't have to define future responses. Yes, I wish we'd do more, faster, but when I think about the alternative... and there's much in your talk I'd not considered. I enjoy your channel very much. May Ukraine find victory! 🇺🇦🇺🇸

He doesn't go into details on how he would do it but based on his previous remarks about Putin being a genius to take over a country and on what his children are posting about Ukraine, his strategy would have been to blackmail Ukraine into giving up the territories or independence. He either doesn't understand the implications, or he wants the US to go to war with China (because there is no way the US letting Taiwan's technologies end up in China imho). I don't know which of these options is better... Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

It is important to rationally think things through and not look at it through the prism of fear, but to look at it realistically from the Russian perspective, there is so little to gain for Russia, and so much to lose. Nuclear war or attacking NATO makes absolutely zero sense. It is a lose lose for them.

Before the war in Ukraine, I did not regard Russia as some kind of potential global power for this century, but I was extremely pessimistic and believed that an era of Chinese global dominance is already upon us. My only hope for any challenge to Chinese global power was the hope of a rising Africa being able to challenge it sometime toward the end of this century. Yes, I did think things were THAT bad. The war in Ukraine was a slap in the face to the West which reawakened it, which in turn gave me plenty of hope that we might not need to wait for the end of this century for Africa's rise to challenge China's power. While I still believe that Africa's rise is inevitable in the long run, if it's going to compete with anyone next century, it probably still going to be North America, and not any China, which itself will likely not endure as a global power into the next century due to a myriad of its own domestic issues.

Also the fact that the aforementioned sentiment expressed by the German finance minister Christian Lindner sounds like very much the kind of thing he would say, considering his greed, cynicism and complete disdain to the elementary social fairness is not a definite evidence of him saying the above. But I would definitely not rule out he would say it, especially if he had believed nobody is recording him.
In the end it's "he said, she said", with two serf-serving, despicable characters who are the worst people for the posts they occupy, throwing mud at each other and providing no evidence to anything they accuse the other of saying, while harming the cause and the people they are supposed to be serving and representing.
