  • DESCRIPTION
On April 28th, 1996, Martin John Bryant became known as the worst single mass-murderer in Australian History. 21 years later, the Port Arthur Massacre still stands as the 3rd deadliest shooting by a lone gunman in the world.
Known as a loner with the IQ of an 11-year-old, a series of events in Martin Bryant’s life would go on to trigger a rampage that would change hundreds of people’s lives that day, as well as the lives of everyday Australians who looked on in horror.

One of the worse things I've ever heard was by a lady who survived the Cafe she said she saw a lady get hit and her brain came out and landed in a bowl of chips all she could do was put a cloth over it. This case was so horrific beyond words I feel dirty just mentioning it. Those poor people it's just so sad.

Watching this podcast I feel he probably had undiagnosed Autism:
    1. First year of his life was fine. (Regression happens around 1.5 yrs.)
    2. Rejected cuddles. In the Spectrum it can go both ways - the child either needs lots of physical pressure (hugs) or they can't take any touch or hugs.
    3. Difficulty bonding between parent and child
    4. Escaping and running as soon as he could walk. Known in the autism community simply as "Running". Our 6yo ASD kid does this.
    5. Speech delay.
    6. Destroy toys (and he probably didn't play with toys in the usual fashion).
    7. Social problems in kindergarten. Classic sign of autism. Not understanding social cues and not knowing how to interact socially.
    8. Behavioural problems: "Aggressive, destructive, difficult with other children."
    9. Grabbing the steering wheel of the car.
Because I could see all the signs early on in the video (since much of it coincides with my own kid's condition) I was horrified by the eventual outcome.
I just watched another video where the investigators interviewed him. He makes eye-contact, sits quite still and shows interest in what is being said, which are NOT signs of classic autism. Very creepy guy.
So I dunno, maybe a mixture of some spectrum signs with a healthy dose of psychopathy.

I have autism, and I can say that it's not unlikely that he may have had Autism. I (and I may be an outlier) don't really find myself shocked or horrified by murder or mass murder, and I have a sort of insensitivity to violence, meaning that I might be more able to commit such crimes.
Yet again, most Autistic people I know who are also in the community are mostly normal people, who can only exhibit one or two of the things on this list.

the reason why it took the police 4 hours to respond was because there were 2 officers alone against a guy with a rifle, you don't just rush in. If you do that and get shot, he's now got your gun, and a radio to listen to every thing the police do, not to mention all of your weapons
additionally, most Australians (like me) aren't really bothered that firearms are restricted.

For criminalising armed self defence and sending an innocent man to jail for life WITHOUT a trial? 19 of the fatalities were caused by head shots. Ted Serong the Vietnam era A.D.F. chief a counter terrorism expert and marksman said he wouldn't have been able to achieve that degree of accuracy in that situation and for that many shots and thus believed Bryant who had only recently inherited a lot of money and thus been able to buy guns couldn't possibly have done that so why if Bryant was arrested and jailed (without a trial) wasn't anyone else? He also believed Howard had an agenda though he wasn't sure exactly what it would be. I guess you think the N.S.W. judiciary did a great job enabling Man Monis to lay siege to the Sydney Lindt Cafe and murder two innocent people by granting him bail despite being charged with the murder of his wife and allowed him to retain his firearms licence over the strong objections of police, and it was just as well there was no law abiding proficient firearm owner present to execute Monis and save those two innocent people whose deaths created a black hole in the hearts of their loved ones, and the police refused to let their sniper shoot Monis before he took any lives and those who stormed the cafe bumbled their way the entire time, and to top it off I guess you're brimming with pride about the fact the L.N.P. have done NOTHING to fix the bail laws so that never happened again and won't restore our legal right to freedom of speech. What a twat you are!

This woman was a social worker and helped and cared so much about people like Martin only to be murdered by him. She didn’t want to go on holiday to tassy but got dragged there. She didn’t want to see the sad colony stuff and chose to have a coffee instead while her friends went. It breaks my heart. I wonder if anyone will ever interview this bastard who put cuts in the bullets to cause worse impact. I've had quite an extensive look into the conspiracy theories surrounding this case and I must admit there are some baffling facts that should have been investigated... Two that stand out to me is 1. The shooter fired from the hip when in the cafe and managed to achieve a near perfect head or heart shot ratio, something a SAS sharp shooter said was almost impossible to achieve given the experience of the gunman (Bryant) and the environment of his surroundings at the cafe, this was documented and even featured on a news story channel 9 screened some while back, 2. When Bryant was held up with his hostages in the sea scape lodge and talking with the police negotiators on the phone, gunshots can be heard in the back ground which supposedly was Bryant firing at the police outside, a one point you can hear Bryant actually says to the negotiator "careful you don't hit your man" implying that someone else was with him in the lodge at that time firing at the police outside... a retired police officer was investigating the many discrepancies in the case but died a few years into his investigations but there is a book he released with some interesting facts.... Look up Keith Allen Noble for more info. Regards Jon

the broad arrow cafe shooting, 1 head shot from the hip every 1.3 secounds. over 90% had head wounds. the unknown professional assassin was showing off his skill. martyn fired dozens of rounds at the police from seascape(allegadly) and hit nothing. martin also managed to shoot at police from the top story window, even though he was downstairs in the kitchen making a sandwich while talking to police on the phone. one of the rifles serial numbers was found to be a rifle handed in to police in SA years before. how did that end up in tasmania? A local gun store owner was threatened and bullied into admitting he sold martin the rifle, even though he didnt, and had no proof of sale to support the purchase.
all we know for sure, is that martin liked guns, was a imbicile, and made to go along with a coerced and corrupt police investigation. witness statements that did not match the police narrative were withheld from court proceedings and these witnesess were forbidden from froviding evidence. a former SASR commanding officer was quoted as saying in all of his military career, no single soldier or level of training even by SASR standards could have achieved the same results as the shooter(s) at port arthur.

      @@beigeocean5665 no, I don't.
because guns still hit things, whether he hit all of his shots or 1% doesn't matter if he fired hundreds, because at some level people got hit. One's IQ amounts to their intellectual capacity, for things like arithmetic. One's abillity to shoot straight is not dependent on their IQ.
Firing from the hip does not decrease accuracy fully, and I don't believe he was hip-firing the whole shooting. Police response was very slow and most people were confused, which is an optimal situation for a shooter.

@@bearmarco1944 come on man... There's a reason why no military in the world trains their soldiers to fire from the hip. It absolutely does greatly reduce accuracy and according to the narrator at one point there were 29 shell casings on the ground and 32 victims, some of which had been shot multiple times, yet no report of him stopping in the middle of the whole fraccus to pick up casings. It was a false flag and an entire continent lost their gun rights.

@@voiceofreason1208 If they wanted to get rid of Australian gun rights, they didn't need this kind of incident to happen. There had been several shootings in previous years like Hoddle Street, Queens Street, Walsh street. If you brought all them up in parliament, there would be no doubt that you could get the laws repealed.
Additionally, it's not like firing from the hip doesn't work. The Christchurch shooting at the Al-Noor mosque happened from the hip, but almost 50 people died from the shooter. Whilst he may have killed more if he had fired while aiming, he didn't, and still killed an unfortunate number of people.
Also, the fact that this is a regional seaside town may explain that not all victims were shot on-site. A victim was brought to a building and a hostage situation started, during which, the shooter fired rounds, which obviously wouldn't be at the site. It's also possible some casings weren't found or rolled into the ocean.
Finally, if this was a false flag and cover-up, don't you think they would have done it better?

Self loading and military style weapon are meaningless terms used by people who don't know anything about gun. The same type that think wood grain rifles are automatically less powerful than those with a black finish and pistol grips add power.
This should not have happened. The moron had dozens of the reddest of flags. This was a failure at multiple points by his family, law enforcement, and government. The actions of law enforcement were sluggish and disorganized which allowed about a dozen more people to die who didn't need to. The banning of guns afterwards has done very little to nothing to stop other shootings. People are under the false understanding that no other mass shootings have happened since then. This could have been prevented by simply reporting his comments and actions leading up to the attack.

Well, in order to get people to willingly give up their guns, you have to make the shootings chock full of what I call "star victims". You know, like in the US in Arizona, where congressperson Gabby giffords allegedly took a gunshot to The Head And yet has no scar to show for it, there was an old Marine who shielded his elderly wife with his body and died doing so. There was the little girl who was shot the same day who was born on, of course, 9/11. The man holding his dying wife was probably filmed by a government type in order to tug at the heartstrings of the general public and convince them they should be willingly give up their weapons.
