Your boxing channel. News, Talk Shows, Podcasts & Live Fights. Our motivation for creating ProBox TV is simple. Boxing fans have been taken for granted. They’ve been underserved regarding the quality of content. Further, the other networks involved in boxing lack a commitment to the sport, the fighters and most importantly, the fans. Real fight fans need an “all-boxing channel” fully focused on giving fans what they want.

You are an idiot. We are talking about having an astonishing career and cleaning out a division and moving up and cleaning out another division against p4p fighters in their primes.
Not one single win or beating an old unfocused legend....
Lennox is the extreme exception but let's be honest, his parents moved to England and had him in England...he fought for Canada in the Olympics...
Out of all the fighters you named, who dominated their era?
Was #1 p4p in the world?
Wilder isn't very good. Lacey was god awful.
Look at Robinsons record on box rec. He fought Turpin a few days after his last fight.
They had a rematch a few months later and Robinson (who fought about 200 fights and had to lose eventually) ko'd Turpin and Turpins career after that was quite lack luster. .
Robinson cleaned out divisions against fighters in their primes. He was #1 in the world.
What division did Turpin clean out?
There is not one current British multiple division champion.
Kell, Khan, Hatton... You hand pick the 2nd tier Americans they beat but ignore the fact that all 3 were ko'd by top tier Americans.
Forch was absolutely dominated by Ward...
No Brit beat Spence. No Brit beat Mayweather. No Brit beat Crawford. No Brit beat Haney.
No Brit is in their league.
Outside of Fury... England is quite bad...
      Right now...
Sonny Edwards, Josh Taylor, Tyson Fury, Benn all looked horrible in their last performances.
British boxing is dead dead dead...Fury is the best and he is a joke of a person...
Quick question, other than Fury... Name the best British current boxer, especially in the best divisions?????
      You can't answer...

I was back in the old country a few years ago and was at the Pub on a Friday night. There was all kinds off great fights on the Pub TV for free. Reminded me off what the States was like back in the 70's and 80's. Really Expensive Pay per Views and lack of free boxing on TV is killing boxing here in the US. In Europe the fights are still reasonable priced or often Free. But as good, exciting and often closely matched as the fights are, most of the fighters are not on the same level as here in the States or Mexico. Thats just the Truth. They have improved since the 80's and such but still not on the same level.

I started watching British boxing few years ago on ESPN plus and CZcams and what I found it is they do build up certain boxers they think will be good. As example on the British undercards they will have an undefeated British boxer like 10-0 against someone with more loses then wins to build up their record. So when these British boxers have good records it’s hard to know if they are any good? In the USA typically they will put their young fighters with good records against other good fighters. As an example look at the fight this Thursday in Vegas on the undercard of Lopez vs Ortiz. There are 3 fights of good young fighters all undefeated or just a loss against one another which is I see common in USA but very rare to happen in England early in their career

They get overhyped because boxing has a good following in the UK, so fighters who win at the domestic level pick up a fanbase along the way. The US people generally don’t gaf until a fighter has a world title (unless they’re a serious fan). The “uk” and “commonwealth” belts mean something to the fans over there.

They always fall short when they step up against non UK fighters - and I think it comes down to sparring talent and exposure. They only get exposed to the same UK style - which has become very Carl Froche inspired - with the flippy flappy jabs and fast feet and sort of fusing this with their arm punching brawler style.

Brit here. I can see where Teddy is coming from, and I want to make this clear to my fellow boxing fans across the pond. Most British fans don't believe Conor Benn will do anything in the Welterweight division. Most of us are realistic and know an Ennis or Crawford or Haney all smoke Benn with ease.
As far as the British fighters are overated, as a whole, I'd say that's unfair. For a small island, Britian had at one point both champions of the Heavyweight division not that long ago, we also had an undisputed champion at lightweight and multiple champions in featherweight and Cruiser.
Maybe we don't have someone at the very elite like a Berterbiev or Devin Haney, etc. However, we do produce great fighters, just not many Elite fighters like Lennox Lewis or Joe Calzaghe, which come once in a generation.

A simple yes or no will suffice...
One of your own promotors admitted that until recently boxers in Britain (and America) had slave contracts.
Most boxing promotors are crooks in all nations.
At least Ryan (who is one of our worst in the division) is still boxing. Where is Billy Jo Saunders????
Quick question, name one current British fighter who can clean out his current division and then move up and win a title in the division above him...

I enjoy watching British fights also but I agree 100% with Teddy and I started watching fights over in England few years ago on ESPN plus and CZcams. They definitely don’t have as many talented fighters but what I find funny is how they build up records of certain fighters. The undercards are horrible as they will have a fighter with good record fight another guy with many more loses then wins consistently to build up their record. Look it up as I watched a fight on the undercard of a fight in London last year of a British fighter 11-0 fight against a guy 3-98. When they announced the guys record all they said is this is his 101st fight, I couldn’t believe it lol and when the undefeated fighter won he celebrated like it was a big achievement. Now look at the undercard of fights in North America they will put up undefeated fighters against other undefeated fighters early in their careers to actually see who is the legit better fighter. Just look at undercard this Thursday on ESPN in Vegas of Ortiz vs Lopez fight and young fighters with all good records fighting each other. There are some good boxers in England but it’s hilarious how they try build up so many boxers with good records against horrible competition and when they fight someone actually good they get beat

Overrated is a strange argument, especially when boxing popularity enters the conversation. It kind of becomes a "per capita" argument. Yes, boxers/boxing is more popular in the UK - an "average" fighter can get press in that environment where the same fighter wouldn't even get a glimpse in the US, simply because there are more boxers (and always will be) in the US - this is just a statistical fact based on population numbers (67 million UK v 335 million US). Which group is "better"? All arguments are moot unless they get in the ring and fight. People can speculate all they want - prove it. IMHO, as far as "overrated" goes, US fighters are clearly more overrated because of hype, publicity, protection, etc. US "creates" more undeserving "champions" than any other country, period.

Not only was Tyson blasting everyone out but there was the Jumbo Cummings fight where Frank was out on his feet and also the losses against Smith and Witherspoon. It's interesting that there was this earlier sparring session, no wonder Frank looked fearful.
Anyway if you search for "Frank Bruno v Jumbo Cummings (full fight) Boxing" and go to 8:47, you'll see the moment. That punch would have knocked out a horse. In my opinion Frank actually has a good chin, he would get hurt and lose to cumulation punches where he didn't know how to defend himself with the hands going down.

I think during the golden era of boxing it was very hard for British fighters to go to the USA or Mexico and succeed. Obviously Britain has a fairly big boxing culture and many of our boxing stars could have a good career fighting in the UK against British fighters or cherry picked overseas opponents. But that was the past. Boxing has lost popularity in the US and so that has helped Britain's standing in the world boxing order.
