- Roguelike games make up a fifth of my steam library. This is because I have spent a lot of (time and money) searching for the definitive roguelike game that I will genuinely enjoy playing. Today I am happy to announce that we have found it.

You could try backpack hero (given it's a turn based roguelike , not an action packed one), each character had their own fundamental gimmick (not just different ability ), like Tote having a deck of spells, CR-8 with its automatic chainreaction gameplay, Pochette being trash tier with her pets, etc.... with each character also having different level up gimmick.
And then on top of each character's gimmicks, you had a ton of builds possibles, some being staightforward, some being more wacky but still effective (the ballist+concrete generation build where you fling bricks at ennemies, lol )
About RNG , it's very random tho, but the game is about trying to make up a build with what you can find rather than just praying to get one OP item wich would solocarry the run no matter your initial build... also you are offered more items than you can take, so it's a game of making the right choices rather than just praying for a good roll like isaac.

i like risk of rain 2, definitely one of the very few roguelikes i actually enjoy tho i like FTL: faster than light better idk it has a more chill vive and i think the moment to moment gameplay is more enjoyable, plus it doesnt eventually end with you randomly getting one shoted which is the eventual end for any ror2 run that last long enough it also offers more in the way of interesting challenges for when you know the systems with the terrible ships whereas ror2s ascension bullshit is basically hope for a bleed printer in stage 1 or reset which idk not very fun.
Very brave of you to choose a Muck-like as your fav rogue lite that isn't Muck itself. As we all know Muck is best in class and while it may not have been the first of its genre, it truly revolutionized it and claimed the name of the genre to be Muck-likes. Truly truly, every sense of the game is perfection and that's why you had to choose a different game for this video, because we all know how great Muck is.
In all seriousness nice vid. I disagree on some small key features of the vid on Isaac and Noita specifically but see how and why you don't love those games.
Okay but jokes aside, I would like to see a Muck-like game that improves on Muck and fixes its problems. It's a good concept of a game.

the only "skill issue" moments in ror2 is when you get collapse or swarmed by pests with little AOE. Screw blind pests. All my homies hate blind pests.

God, the quick clipping of words may be done to increase engagement, but its a bit aggravating when every sentence feels like its cut in half.
