As a Nigerian woman whose dad died when she was 17, I can tell you all the tips she gave works. They basically saw me through uni. I would make do with what I had and still looked fly. Never ate out and always bought most of my fashion accessories in black because they pair well with things.

I tell them I never live above my means and I'm contented with what I have.

I agree 1,000% that the problem is always wanting to “treat ourselves”. I honestly thought I was the only one with this mindset. Any time I get a new job or a certification to excel in my profession.
