I never used a gym membership. I love running outdoors or if the weather is bad, there are TONS of online workouts on youtube for free that are KILLER.
i’d say it would really depend on your goals, but yeah just doing outdoors aint all that bad

gyms provide what a home gym cannot. that is a huge variety of cables, weights, and machines hitting different angles on muscle fibers. you can also be motivated by seeing others work out there or make a good friend who will keep you motivated.
Yes working out at home is way better without distractions and people staring you down. Sicking and rude

What I did was I unfollowed all the influencers, skincare brands, online shops. Now I’m in peace. I’m not seeing them anymore. Every time I see an ad popping I go back to my bank account and watch the money I saved and think how many hours I should work for replacing that money. I only shop groceries now.

I became a minimalist about a decade ago. I did it at first to reduce clutter. I noticed that the more crap in my surrounding the more distracted I was from work (software engineering). I got to the point, (I'm still there) where all I had in my 4 bedroom 3.5 bath house in the Hollywood Hills was my desk, my computers, my bed, a few lamps, and my cats. I now live in a 700 sqft loft in downtown LA which sells for the same price as the house did, and own just about the same amount of stuff. Except I have a dog, instead of 2 cats.
The thing I like about minimalism the most, at least the way I do it, is that I have nothing to lose. Except my dog. I love him. Much more than I ever expected. Yes, he's an issue. Everything I care about is non-physical. If the building catches fire, Quincy and I can be out of here in minutes, all that is important in my backpack go bag, and Quincy's harness with our water. We can walk across the street and watch the place burn. All of my work lives in the cloud. I have a spare laptop and iPad in the go bag. Sig Sauer P320 (just in case it's a peaceful protest), emergency rations that we can share, (important to get emergency rations your dog can eat as well), and we're good.
The less crap you have, the less you can be hurt by losing it. The less there is to distract you.

I feel you about Instagram makes you want brand new outfits and 'do up' the house every other day. What a waste of money! I deleted every form of social media I had inc whatsapp and felt so relieved. It's just me and my 2 year old I have so much more time for her now and love living a peaceful life just hearing off family and two best friends

My friend and I were talking about investing and stock markets, then eventually got into the topic of retiring at 30 and minimalism. I'm really thinking about starting out a minimalist life, but it can be extra challenging when living with other people
I am practicing to be alone too! It saves time , energy, mind, and let you be in peace! I am more free to do my own thing, I can feel me more. I regret that my valuable time (about 25 years)was spent , wasted by useless people.
Simple is better! I moved and got rid of so many clothes. Made me realize that when I'm making purchases, to focus on buying quality items that last. Allows me to put more money into investing

My iPhone was $200 & this will be my last 1. I try to stay off socials but here I am on CZcams my favorite place to be. I just got silver sneakers so now I can go to the gym for free, I make my own shampoo, skincare & food. Squeeze my own juice & although I miss happy hour I enjoy wine & music at home. Minimalist lifestyle here I come!!!! Between farmers market & Aldi I’ve completely changed my lifestyle.
