    I was just about to ask if you had any luck with rocker arm bolts today.
    Looks like the first start will be next weekend.
    Also, that vent pipe keeps you from getting air pockets. I bypassed the passage on the throttle body years ago and ran it to the radiator. Works just fine. I don't think my aftermarket throttle body even has that provision to be honest.

      Yeah im disappointed about the bolt but what can you do. Yeah that vent pipe is a pain with that factory accessory bracket. When i did my original test fit i hadnt installed the vent tube. Lesson learned. Angle gri der for the win 🏆

      @@Ralf1NATOR I didn't run into any of that on the 72 GMC - ICT bracket. Looks like I am 💯 going to get a bracket for mine. Plus it's lighter.

    That 706 may have been a castech remnant is why it was replaced with a 862.
    I don't recall but did you happen to put rtv on the knock sensor grommet caps to keep moisture from rusting them out?
    You may consider the BTR 6 point bolt, not the 12 points.

      I did seal up the knock sensors on the 1st build. Actually im just going to use stock bolts for now. Im researching full roller rockers. May splurge for my birthday lol

      @@Ralf1NATOR i did trunnion bushings instead of the caged rollers. The og 6 point gm bolts were sold as 1 piece, not 16 to a pack, so i got the btr set, feel the same as the og gm units. The 12 pt 1s are cheap junk

      @@shadowopsairman1583 yeah i meant to order a set and completely forgot so 1 bolt is literally keeping me from finishing up. No part store near me has one. Sad. What do you think about the howard cams full rollers ?

      @@Ralf1NATORconsidering the 5.7 swap is from a catastrophic failed 4.8. I wouldn't be able to give you any good info other than yeah friction loss is reduced, but slight increase in weight, so make sure you have strong enough springs to keep valve float from occurring. @BlueCollar Hotrods might have good info. Im using BTR "Advanced" Rockers which are basically oem replacements, just using michigan motorsports pressfit bushings to increase fault tolerance. Also this is my first engine swap I am doing myself. Ive helped do stock to stock but this is a mod engine due to the odd displacement and that truck norris cam.

      @@shadowopsairman1583 gotcha. Yeah springs are up to the task. Checked yesterday and i still have 2 coils unbinded at full lift

    Did the engine run funny having 2 different heads?

      @Ralf1NATOR  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Lol never would have known. I got it to run 9's in 1/8th mile. Ive driven this truck to Florida and Tennessee. No clue it had different heads. Statistically speaking theyre basically the same thing
