    I’d like to note everyone loves running the holley hi rams mostly cause they are sexy and make top end but what most forget is the weight savings going to composite. To me the fast 102 is the ultimate winner with great power while also being composite and less weight

    I’m doing a truck build and your videos help a lot, knowing what suits what build best. I’ve decided to run a tbss intake with a truck Norris cam due to the fact I probably won’t rev much past 5500, maybe 6000. And it looked like the tbss intake was actually better than the fast all the way up until 5300 rpm

    The tbss was as good or better all the way to 5200. If you are building a street engine and not looking for the high rpm’s I would go with the tbss. Less than half the price too.

      I ran that in my 20 LS intake comparo-do a search for 20 LS intakes-Hot Rod-it comes right up-but Ill be doing a vid on that old test since I reference it several times a day

    It looks like the trailblazer SS intake has a tad bit more low-end torque than the fast 102, the fast really begins to shine around 5400rpms

    The early truck intake makes way more torque at low rpm. This dyno test doesn't go that low in rpm though.

    Richard I just bought a used lsxrt intake and need to know what lower injector orings to use with my Lq4 injectors , ? Do you have the dimensions of what to use? I suspect they are ls2 red but not sure the bores measure roughly .579”. Thanks

    Being topend makes me think its the 102mm throttle doing the work. I recon a ported tbss would match that.

      The ported TBSS is ok for an NA engine. Just be warned that a stock tbss manifold flexes under vaccum, and might be too weak for boost if ported by the methods I've seen used so far.

      I have a ported tbss and like it but according to this video if i got a ported fast102 i might still see 20-30hp but im really in search of TQ. Too bad it doesnt pick up equal tq

    Have you tested the Fast LSXHR LS3, and the different length runners? I haven't seen anything on that intake yet, except for the HotRod article you did "Giant LS3 Intake Manifold Dyno Shootout", with the Performance Design Carbon PTR intake on the 415.

    I have a 2006 TBSS and I’m am currently in the process of rebuilding the engine I am putting a btr stage 2 cam in it and I was thinking about putting a intake on it. I was wondering if it was worth changing the intake or running the stock one. If so do you have any suggestions?

    I see people trying to get around using an xlink by using a 3bolt adapter to run the 78mm tb on the tbss intake. How much difference is there in the tbss intake with a stock 78mm 3bolt vs stock 90mm 4 bolt tb?

    What’s better? An aluminum intake manifold from Top street Performance mid/low rise or the Fast manifold? I’ve got an LS1 with Cam, 102tb and headers revving to 6600 rpm.

      @@akinajj1 I still have not installed it. A lifter took out my LQ4, had to throw together another one. I'm building an iron LS2 with decent sized cam for the truck now. I'll put the FAST on it then.

    Hey Richard, i have a question in regard to long runner/short runner intakes. If you have a single plane intake with a 4150 flange and you pit a holley elbow on it this moving the throttle body farther from the valves, would that give you more low end torque thus simulating long runners?

    We're running a similar short block with LS6 intake 69 turbo making 1030 at the wheels on 25 lbs of boost do you think of fast intake would be a significant difference on the motor possibly picking up a hundred horsepower

    Will LS3 heads and intake beat this combination with the same short block and it would be interesting to see what they would do on 28 lb of turbo boost

      ls3 heads make more power than 799 or 706 heads-we ran them along with TFS 225 heads

    What were the throttle body sizes tested on each mani & did that give the 102 an advantage over the other intakes? If it did that's another cost added to the hp/$ ratio that should he discussed

      The standard ls truck intake is cathedral port so I'm assuming the tbss and the fast was also.

      you need a big cam and heads and I would not run the FAST on the ls3 heads-just use the stock one-you could always add boost

      It's easy to spot. I dont have the part number, but you can spot it over the others by it being the only new style (nnbs) truck intake that has cathedral ports.
      The rest of those style intakes have the rec ports like the gen 4 trucks all have.

      The Gen 4 5.3 intake = TBSS which is cathedral port. Gen 4 6.0 are rec port.

    That is a very healthy 6.0 and if you do the simple math of boost boom 14.7 psi should net nearly 1200 reliable hp what a time to be alive.

      The ls3 and ls7 are rec port intakes. You can’t do an A-B test from rec port to cathedral port.

    The real story in the video is power per dollar.
    Yes you can make 5ft lbs and a few hp over a tbss with the fast. But it will cost you a grand.
    Is a grand worth the small gain? I wouldnt say so until you have either built a high dollar high hp NA engine or after you have your boosted setup built and working good.
    That grand could buy you a Borg Warner turbo or even a full ebay turbo kit. Could buy a used LSA blower for that money and see your hp number almost double.
    Spending money smart will save you a fortune on project cars.

    Once again, the fast intake has nowhere near those gains on a stock motor, or mildly cammed motor. These intakes are way too much money for the blue collar guy.

      the higher the power output of the test motor-the better it will be able to take advantage of what the FAST intake has to offer-I wouldn't put one on a stock motor
