- My silverado makes it into the 9's with only a truck norris cam and a tire swap. 1 and 1/2 seconds faster than stock. #silverado #truck #cammed #dragrace #dragracing #performance #powerupgrades #upgrades #btr #trucknorris @briantooleyracing3554
Ok so to start the computer dont care what tire size is on it if you have both your table set to shift at 6000rpm it gonna target that and should be able to hit within 200rpm or so of that target. What ur describing is that u moved the shift point up to 6000rpm but Im guessing you never adjusted your rpm limiter on the ETC side (there is a fuel rpm limiter and a ETC limiter). So basically your hitting your ETC speed limiter it closes the throttle blade then the trans does its shift then opens throttle back up. I normally disable completely the ETC limiter and then set my RPM limiter by fuel at the rpm I want cause it controls it better and also easier to tell when u hit the limiter because it has the old limiter sound when u hit it instead of just falling on its face. Also there is 2 shift tables as well so the other goes off speed. The way the ECU works is it uses the one thats higher. So if u have 1-2 WOT shift speed set at 5mph but shift Rpm at 6000 it will ignore the 5mph and go for 6000 rpm and vice versa if u have WOT shift rpm set to 1000rpm and WOT shift speed set to 50mph its gonna target 50mph. Nomally I only use one side in my case i think my RPM's are set super low and I command my shifts off speed because it seems to be more consistent on hitting shift at same point everytime cause of how quick mine accelerates through 1st-2nd gear its hard for it to hit right on it. Shifting by speed has helped me get more consistent shifts for bracket racing where i need to run same number every time
Thats good info. Sounds exactly like what was going on. Felt like a fuel shut off . I couldnt find the factory limiter
I might be full of 💩 but tuning and hp tunes has so many hiccups it's crazy
Yeah i didn't want to push my luck. Once i got it to start back up i just ran it a couple times then packed it in. Current build definitely has more potential
Maybe a learning curve to it, I'd say any issue report them to the creator of the units
@@shadowopsairman1583 it ŵas just computer interface. My wife changed a few settings on the new laptop. Its connecting right now
Hptunes doesnt have hardly any hiccups really u have to just understand everything and what other tables to be adjusted to match takes alot of times to really learn everything
@@FrogsGarage your right I've only had an issue with logging but you close it and restart and it's fine and the other thing I was talking about was on me
Not sure if it will help - but i can email you my tunes from both of my RCSB trucks. They're both cammed 6 liters, 4L80E, DBC, etc. But... might give you something to compare to and see what's changed vs. stock.
Froggy might have a few tunes to share too... unless it's "TFS" 😅
😂😂😂 after talking with you im sire it was not going into the wizard
@@Ralf1NATOR just the same, if you want some reference material - holler
Im having a brain fart im not sure what TFS stands for

I want to run the truck norris cam that needs springs, long tubes and tune on my 4.8 with a awd tcase from a silverado ss. Should be low 12s-11.9 regular cab 1/4 mile
That was exactly my original plan except with the 5.3. I decided against the awd and sold off the tcase and front diff. The escalade and several others work good too. Beehive springs are all you need spring wise for the TN cam. Thanks for watching and keep us posted on your build
I apologize but I don't see just a cam change running in the 9's ,
@@stevesalisbury6865 9.60 best time with a crap tune. Electric fans and cols air intake as well. Also was running on 28 inch tires. The cam drpped from a 10.20.
Running the small tires gives it about a 4:56 gear ratio. The cam dropped the et about 6 10ths over stock
