There’s also analysis of Liverpool’s trip to Stamford Bridge & where Klopp needs to strengthen; the evolution of Ben Chilwell & Reece James; not to mention heavy praise for Enzo Fernandez. Will Chelsea have the best midfield in the Premier League? Is Chilwell an FPL must have? Will Liverpool ever sign a defensive midfielder? Find out on this Premier League Review.

Confident Jackson will score but if Mudryk, Raz or Noni can start firing as well we could be looking at challenging for the league. Defence and midfield both very solid and no longer have kepa in goal who was a big liability.
Very excited for this season, COYB💙

Dave, when defending Reece tucked in next to Axel. However, Chillwell would tuck in next to Gallagher in the midfield line. Chillwell was tasked to pull the Liverpool line wide and back. If they didn’t then he would have a free run in behind the defensive line. In defence he was asked to keep Trent quiet, which he very much did. When Liverpool was having momentum it was because Colwill was asked to look after Salah which didn’t work. So, when there was a break in the game Poch asked Gallagher to bloke passing lanes to him and stand in the LHS space close to Colwill. Then Chelsea dominated. Build up changed more to a Gallager first receiver with Carney and Enzo adjusting to play more as wide 8’s. defences was Enzo and Gallagher as a partnership with Carney in front. No idea if these were the instructions, just what I observed watching the game 3 times over.

It was like a 4-4-1-1 in defence and 3-4-2-1 in attack with Chilwell on last line and James in between midfield and attack.

That's it. Gallagher has the energy and tackling skill needed but not the ball retention or press resistant skill for what Chelsea is trying to build. He can be used as a press purpose 8 or back up till he is fully transformed to what we want.
Gallagher is a very good player that can grow and improve.

Don't want Gallagher sold, but with so many incoming, he might get sold.
If he were to go, hopefully he goes to a club where he can achieve something.
In PL, I won't mind much if he goes to Newcastle/West Ham or Palace.

Chelsea will be a hard team to break down this season but I don't see a lot of goals in this team. Enzo is a monster of a player but I don't feel anyone ahead of him is a cold-blooded finisher.

And now Chelsea is getting Lavia, now they need a veteran player. I can't remember a winning midfield, a championship midfield without a veteran, that's in his late 20s or early 30s, it doesn't happen, you need at least one. It's the same for defense, you need at least one veteran.

    • @xJeffHD
      @xJeffHD Před 9 měsíci +2

Enzo and Caicedo are unique because they play like veterans so that doesn’t apply to them. Silva, Reece, Chilwell, Nkunku and Sterling are examples of adequate experience in other areas of the pitch.

Every time Chelsea dip into the market "we're serious now"
Then they're average at best. Love it.
Hope they get champs league this season otherwise players like Enzo go bye bye no way a player of that quality won't want to play champs league football.

The Saudis have FUP everything. Chelsea should have had a fire-sale due to their reckless spending last season and bled players while being unable to purchase higher quality.
Instead thanks to the BS misuse of the sovereign wealth fund Chelsea have ended up being rewarded and gobbled up loads of good players: Caceido, Lavia, Olise only the latest...
    1) The Sovereign Wealth Fund is totally misused by Saud
    2) Chelsea should have suffered hardship for profligacy
Both are disasters imho. Nothing personal, but the logic of misuse of sovereign wealth is disaster for the people of Saud, and in football Chelsea are hoovering up good players who'd be better distributed across more clubs for a wider rise in quality of the league.
